Isn’t the US Bank Reserve card geared more towards travel spending? I don’t understand the correlation to why you switched your grocery and restaurant spending from gold card gives 5x points in those categories, to a card that gives you 1x in those categories.
The Gold Card gets you 4X MRs in dining and groceries. The USBAR gets me 3X on mobile wallet purchases, which includes dining and groceries, and when I redeem it with real-time rewards using US Bank, there's a 1.5X redemption boost so I get effectively 4.5X back on those purchases! There's so much more simplicity with the USBAR and no more monthly statement credits!
@@TheCreditFrog Funny enough, I googled for updated news regarding the amex gold yesterday, and I haven't seen a single article that talks about the card itself increasing the annual fee
Thank you for the video .Since you're no longer using the american express gold card. And that is considered to be the primary earner as far as m.R points for american express. Question if you don't mind me asking are you still carrying the morgan stanley platinum card from american express. Sounds like you got a pretty good plan
Yup! I still have the Amex MS Platinum open. As I still get a free authorized user with the card, my wife can benefit and she has her own MS Platinum, which is a $195 savings every year!

@isao_the_2nd It will go up. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when.

@TheCreditFrog That's the same reason. I got the morgan stanley platinum. Plus my home airport has a centurion lounge
