Know exactly what u mean. I was a huge Big 4, Maiden, Priest fan growing up (seen them all). Lovebites on display live is just a whole new level...PERFECTION. SSS is just a F relentless song, my favorite by any band ever! 🤘
I respect your opinion, but I have a different one: I still listen to Iron Maiden, I know all of their records, and I appreciate most of their songs, as well as most of Lovebites'. I think, that both bands operate in *different* areas of Metal. I therefore find it kind of difficult to "compare" them. Maybe like comparing a dentist to a cardiologist: Both are working medically and professionally with people, but in different areas of the human body. To me, Iron Maiden are the best _story-telling_ Metal band, and Lovebites are _technically_ (or: in terms of their musical skills) the best all-female Metal band in the world. Lovebites will _never_ be able to perform "Empire of the clouds" or "Paschendale" like Iron Maiden do it, and Iron Maiden will never be able to perform "SSS". But for me, that does not matter either, I listen to *both of them* .
The crowd surfing during SSS was at a whole new level. At 2:41 the sea of humaity was incredible! A conveyor belt of happy surfers. METAL fans are the BEST!

Maybe for many of the audiences, this is “the first contact” to LOvEBITES. Some people took it for the wave of surfing. But I hope and believe many of them here got simply stunned and thought of this music into their lists…I appreciate your objective view points!
When you watch the fancams and the final show photo you can see that was a huge crowd. That probably counts in 10,000s. I would bet at least 95% of them had never heard a Lovebites song before. You need to know that festival is sold-out months before any performer name is announced,, so none of these guys bought a ticket to see Lovebites. Conquering that crowd probably was the biggest stake the ladies encountered in their career so far, and it looks they did pretty well.
You say in a few words what I think too 👍 When Fami was chosen I was quite skeptical - because of the big age difference and her inexperience (music style / concerts in front of a large audience). Seeing her fast progress live and being supported by the other band members (Miyako also shows her where the limits are) is something special. Fami continues to grow and has fun being a happy monster 🤘
Could watch this video clip for days. There's just no words, and the majority of these fans have no idea of the musicianship they're witnessing (a 30min sample size). These ladies play 18/19 songs setlist at this pace usually and always pristine. Ty again.

Probably Fami's biggest stage ever (if not for the others) and Miss Happy masters it right away, running from one end to the other! Just as cool as in the clubs, she is like the child having a biggest Christmas present than in her wildest dreams. Miyako seems more overwhelmed by the size of the event. I would like to emphasize how the band's stage attitude and mood have positively evolved with this tour, they have learnt a lot in the small european clubs. Compare those images with the live DVDs in Japan.
For outdoor performances, the fast shred, twin guitars and Miyako's classical music-style arrangements give the band an earth-shaking weight, making them a powerful weapon. It's not a single guitar being amplified to produce a loud sound, but rather a chord that chops up and sways.
The Metal Goddesses have joined the party! LOVEBITES is the most "TALENTED" band of musicians to grace the stage in decades if not forever. One day in the future when you tell your children/ grandchildren that Asami, Miyako, Midori, Haruna & Fami were ALL in the same band... They will NOT believe you. @@TheCyberMantis They will undoubtedly gain new fans, but this is only the start. Don't forget, with the advent of COVID, long hiatus, not touring overseas for 4+ years, etc..., the band is pretty much back to square one again. So they will gain some new fans, but I believe they'll get exponentially more over the next couple of years with a lot more new music content coupled with more targeted touring (this year is to collect data to determine and optimize where to tour in the future, and how to do it better).
I am very cautious with big words, but SSS is _easily_ "one of the greatest metal songs ever". *And* I am not sure at all whoever should be able to _cover_ it. To me, SSS is _untouchable_ .

That's why everyone should lead them to the front. But nowadays, it became a meaningless act that everyone will do for fun. Let's forget that. Lovebites performance is beyond amazing on this stage🤘🏻
as I said before, SSS would be epic song if put in the big rock/metal festival especially as an encore and now they play it, so SSS is a MUST song in every rock festival they attend, unfortunately, they didn't play it in Rock Imperium
I agree with you, personally I miss the song "Dissonance". Both songs are such a powerful ending on the "Judgement Day" album. I wish for a live performance of both songs, but SSS alone is already a great BLESSING 🤘
I think Lovebites is the only band that still look pretty (physically) even when performing in high speed tempo and moving around crazily😅. They can also maintain their composure despite the chaotic and highly active crowd 😊

I haven't looked west for Metal and Rock since 2016 - Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie, Asterism are all making the 21st century's best Metal while Band-Maid are THE best Hard Rock band on the planet. All Japanese and all female except for Asterism, though the trio's lead guitarist is up there with the best of them.
The set was too short for all the work it would have took to put a stream together. I'm sure they'll be invited back and get a longer set next time. I think they probably made a great impression even with only 5-6 songs.
I've contacted them before this, and told them, it was a mistake, not to broadcast this, but they just kindly excused and told us (the fans), that some people have to be disappointed. We'll hardly ever know, which "professional" selected these groups, and in the end, it doesn't really matter. The last laugh is on arte, whose content is usually quite good. (Unforced error!)

この曲をはじめて聴いた時にビックリしたと同時に「ライヴでできるのか？」と正直思ったけど、大型フェスで堂々たるパフォーマンスをする光景を観て感動した。
LOVEBITESは昔の王道メタルをリスペクトしているが、女性ヴォーカル（さらなる高音域）＆バンドの演奏（しかも技巧抜群）というのが新鮮でありまた魅力となっていて、自分がそうだったのですが一時メタルを離れた人も再び熱狂する理由となっていると思う。
２番手でこれだけのクラウドサーフィンはそれだけ響いたということで、世界にもっと拡散するよ。
同感です。ロンドンから始まり、ここに照準を合わせて調子を上げ、最高の演奏に仕上げています。この曲や他の難曲がどうなるのかこれらを見るまでははらはらしていましたが、彼女らのプロ魂脱帽するばかりです。更なる発展、そしてファン層の拡大に期待したい。
私も数十年前にメタルから離れた者ですが、半年前にLOVEBITESに出会って今ではどっぷりハマっています。技巧ももちろんですが、気品があって個性があって、さらにメッセージ性がある歌詞、見ていて楽しいです。。。ようやく求めていたメタルが突然来た気分です。

@@TheCyberMantis They will undoubtedly gain new fans, but this is only the start. Don't forget, with the advent of COVID, long hiatus, not touring overseas for 4+ years, etc..., the band is pretty much back to square one again. So they will gain some new fans, but I believe they'll get exponentially more over the next couple of years with a lot more new music content coupled with more targeted touring (this year is to collect data to determine and optimize where to tour in the future, and how to do it better).
Fami is on top of the world here. So glad she auditioned for lovebites and made it, she was already a legend, now she’s a goddess

That's why everyone should lead them to the front.
But nowadays, it became a meaningless act that everyone will do for fun.

as I said before, SSS would be epic song if put in the big rock/metal festival especially as an encore and now they play it, so SSS is a MUST song in every rock festival they attend, unfortunately, they didn't play it in Rock Imperium
I agree with you, personally I miss the song "Dissonance". Both songs are such a powerful ending on the "Judgement Day" album. I wish for a live performance of both songs, but SSS alone is already a great BLESSING 🤘
I think Lovebites is the only band that still look pretty (physically) even when performing in high speed tempo and moving around crazily😅. They can also maintain their composure despite the chaotic and highly active crowd

I haven't looked west for Metal and Rock since 2016 - Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie, Asterism are all making the 21st century's best Metal while Band-Maid are THE best Hard Rock band on the planet. All Japanese and all female except for Asterism, though the trio's lead guitarist is up there with the best of them.

The set was too short for all the work it would have took to put a stream together. I'm sure they'll be invited back and get a longer set next time. I think they probably made a great impression even with only 5-6 songs.
I've contacted them before this, and told them, it was a mistake, not to broadcast this, but they just kindly excused and told us (the fans), that some people have to be disappointed. We'll hardly ever know, which "professional" selected these groups, and in the end, it doesn't really matter. The last laugh is on arte, whose content is usually quite good. (Unforced error!)
