The Legend of Spyro series remains one of my favorite trilogies of all time. Spyro in this trilogy was always my favorite character and my idol when I played the first game. This version of Spyro will always be my favorite heroes.
SKYLANDERS SPYRO SUCKS! The one in the show looks better... just not in any of the games. Cynder could look better... honestly, it’s easy to see that Skylanders is somehow a different reality to the ending of Dawn of the Dragon and Spyro and Cynder were reincarnated in Skylands, in which Spyro also might be the creator/healer of the floating islands of Skylands themselves... I’m not the only one to theorize this... and I know I’m not the first... unless someone else put two and two together before they even played Skylanders... honestly was a creative but completely unfair idea... not everyone is going to enjoy the full game(s) with a system that operates like this. And the expenses... yikes... don’t care if you like collecting the figures, but for it to be mandatory to play the game is ROBBERY.
1:28:10 I like the throwback to Sparx eating butterflies in the original games. It's like the game is reminding us that it's still Spyro, even if it is a different story.
I know a lot of people give this series crap because it's "not Spyro,", but I'm not one of those people. I love this trilogy, and I will defend it to my dying day. It may not be as great as the classic trilogy, but it wasn't trying to be. It was trying to do its own thing.

Honestly, I always thought the dialogue felt "off" given the big names behind the characters. They're all good actors, but it didn't FEEL like any of them brought their A game (maybe with the exception of Gary Oldman). Sometimes dialogue felt stiff, and sometimes I didn't buy the emotion. It feels like they did one take and didn't let the actors go back and retry. It's possible it could also just be the writing or voice directing. People really underestimate how many different variables go into making voice acting sound good and thorough. Still, something always felt off.
This was a perfect interpretation of Spyro. It actually made sense and hit you right in the feels. This was one of the last games I super got into as a kid before I moved onto Halo and COD and shit. Don't be shamed or scared either...you know a bunch of you were reading Legend of Spyro fan fictions after Dawn of the Dragon. Too bad they shit-canned the movie that was supposed to happen.
With the way gaming is going these days and even sonic the hedgehog himself returning to a button smash beat ‘em up era, I wouldn’t be so shocked if a Spyro 4 added this element to it as well or if the legends series someday gets a remaster since it’s also picked up in popularity

I do love the story, but theres one problem, if malefor was the first purple dragon who learned all the elements and then abused his power, why were they waiting for another purple dragon to be born? i mean wouldn't they be fearful and destroy spyros egg before another accident happens? but if they did that there wouldn't be a spyro trilogy

Because people like me grew up with the original trilogy, the one that made Spyro famous. They don't see the Spyro in TLOS as the real one. The story is definitely good but I wished they created their own character instead of taking one with already a reputation in order to make money. Spyro already had a story in the original trilogy, not a good one yes, but in TLOS they just remade everything like the old games never existed.
I can agree that the mantra "Be Yourself" can sound good on paper but bad in practice. It can convince some people who take it to heart that they don't need to improve themselves,not even after they make mistakes and bad decisions People shouldn't just "be themselves". They should strive to be the best version of themselves
Holy cow, the scores for these games are phenomenal. Every piece gives a sense of "epicness" and "grandeur" that really sells the situations in each game. Especially the opening scenes of the first game- so much cautious hope, right at the very beginning! I love these orchestrations so much.
So, Spyro. I didn't grew up with it, unlike many people here. I think I do remember playing a demo once in my life as a kid, but I wouldn't make it count. I also remember seeing Spyro announced every once in a while in stuff. But still, I wouldn't say Spyro was in my childhood. So, I could say I discovered Spyro very recently, probably last year or so, when I actually started playing them and got into The Legend of Spyro. Everybody knows there's Classic Spyro and The Legend of Spyro which is a reboot. And in the community it's like this. Either you love one or the other. But personally I like both equally. I see them as different takes on the character, each with its faults and goods. The Classic Spyro were super fun platforms, enjoyable. The Legend of Spyro, while turning into a maybe boring beat 'em up platformer that can get very old quick - you REALLY gotta hand it to the TLOS - I don't think it was a bad reboot, and I don't hate it, I love it as much as the Classic, if you ask me. There was a lot of cinematic value in the trilogy, and a great one, with lots of potential. Engaging story, great voice acting... I know of it's failures, a lot. But I can't help but to love it, too. Sad that Activision wants nothing to do with it anymore (even although they only touched it literally to distribute the last game) and will act as if it doesn't exist..

It's kinda a good thing that the movie was cancelled. Mind you, this movie was being written by the same person who worked on Norm of The North and the live action Woody Woodpecker movie. Also, the budget was only going to be $20 million dollars, which is pretty cheap considering movie standards and the fact that it was most likely going to be cg animated. If those factors weren't really an issue, the movies cancellation would be more heart stabbing. It's still really sad how Activision decided to use Spyro as a selling point for Skylanders, but at least now we have the Reignited trilogy and a Spyro 4 on the way so Activision is doing better things with him nowadays.
I want a continuation of Spyro. I want to know what happens next even though the ending of the Dawn of the Dragon is the perfect ending of a franchise. I just want to see much more of Spyro's and Cynder's love to eachother.

A really good fanmade sequel for DoTD is comics on Deviantart made by ShaloneSK. The first chapter is called "A New". I suggest that you check it out! Even though it's not canon, it's still a good story to what could have happened after DoTD.
Whoever was the voice director in all of these games deserves to be shot. While the dialogue was hardly ever oscar worthy, they really did manage to get some pretty good actors and voice actors in (lord knows how they managed to keep Gary oldman for all three), but they did nothing with them. All were squandered, with tones that didn't reflect the mood of the scene, or doing things like absolutely ruining Mark Hamils voice with some stupid after effect (I remember watching some promotional material that showed him in the recording booth, and his voice sounded genuinely intimidating without the effects). I just don't really understand how you could get so little out of so many talented people.
Crawver I wouldn't call the dialogue bad though, for dragons its serious and cool in its way, others it's quirky and amusing and I like that about spyro games including sparx and his over the top silly act. Sorry I wanted to defend it abit Xwx. I think I can understand the voice acting though. But the dialogues good to me ^-^
It definitely has a rich storyline compared to the original Spyro, a slightly more darker tone to it as well. It would be great if they not only remastered this trilogy, but also went in depth with Malefor's rise to power, as well as to how he was imprisoned. Preferably by a slightly younger Ignitus, Volteer, Cyril and Terrador before they became guardians. As to who the characters should be voiced by, I would say Jack Gleeson as young Ignitus whilst Gary Oldman reprises his role as the Chronicler (a.k.a. Old Ignitus). For young Terrador definitely Michael B. Jordan, as for young Cyril and Volteer I'll admit I am rather stumped to be honest, it'll come to me eventually I hope. But Mark Hamill should reprise his role as Malefor in my opinion.
best 3 hours i have ever spent i honestly wish a real spyro game would come out or maybe a remake of the first spyro on the ps4 some day like crash is getting who knows maybe they will reignite spyro once more (i hope they do) but overall the Legends trilogy is awesome in my opinion and its games and moments in games that inspire me to do what I hope to do in the future Spyro is a classic that is in the hearts of many and will never be forgotten

I remember in the Spyro ps booklet it actually had a picture of Spyro grown up and with a medal for all his deeds.....I always wished that was a hidden ending for the game but that wasn't the case
When you're 6 years old playing the first Spyro game on PS1 and in a certain level(Icy Cavern to be exact) a dragon tells you that Spyro will grow and he never does the way you would imagine in any of the PS1 titles, urgh, I still remember the disappointment :[

The game was all over the place on platforms. The only consistent one was PS2, and it is really cut down in graphics compared to the xbox and PS3 versions. Wii had mid range graphics, but the best controls in the third game imo.

I don't think there's a need for another part to be added to continue the series. The ending is beautiful. They all have the peace they deserve, the peace they all linged for. Spyro completed his destiny. Cynder proves herself worthy not of evil. And they found each other. They may not be found by their comrades, but at least they're all happy. Spyro and Cynder have each other to prove that their bond together, presumably now as mates, is their happiness I wonder how other dragons would react seeing Spyro being the young dragon himself found a potential mate at an early age, to the point that Ignitus shipped them the moment he found the chains bound them together and how Sparx just have mixed feelings about the two of them😂 Among all pairings I've seen in games, movies, and series, I just love how the antagonist is a female who became good because of the protagonist, and is also the potential love interest. It's nice to see how the main character believes the antagonist could change and ended up falling in love with her. The development of their relationship makes me so drawn into this game series😍
I really enjoyed this trilogy, I don't understand all the negativity towards it. In all honesty its story is real good and kinda epic. Yes it doesn't have the simplicity and charm of the original but man it did many good things.

I don't want just a remaster, I want this shit to continue! That sequel bait at the end of Dawn of the Dragon can aid in the creation of a continuation. I've played the classic games in 2003 and forward, as well as this trilogy. I personally prefer the edge, dark, epic, and badass storyline, AND how badass they turned Spyro. This trilogy was just super cool. I matured with the games, and it's hard for me to appreciate the Reignited Trilogy when my most recent adventure with Spyro was about darkness, ancestral dragons, and Spyro is the dragon of prophecy, and not calling Gnorcs ugly and burning sheep. Please, God, continue this SAGA!

They kind of just left us with a cliff hanger at the end of dawn of the dragon I would love for them to continue this series to one where spyro n cynder are older n maybe with little hatchlings of their own n maybe one of them be another purple dragon n for them to see ignitus again as the new chronicler n more back story of Cynder n who Spyro's real parents were more back story of Malefor a new evil more guardians there's just so much more they could have added to this trilogy!

I don’t understand why all the hate for legend of Spyro for blocking enemies on your path or being too dark. Last time I remember jak and Daxter did that in all the games with the same combo, sly cooper did too when you would have to steal keys or kill guards in your path or steal the clockwerk parts just to save your family legacy, sonic unleashed did this too in the werehog levels and you gotta turn dark at some point and use that darkness for good kinda what cinder did for dawn of the dragon, ratchet and clank, and GTA. They were all repetitive combat and dark stories. So legend of Spyro I feel it does not deserve so much the hate because it would be hypocritical to think that it’s the only game that does this type of gameplay.

This was actually an impressive trilogy. It may not be better than the original, but I still loved these games as a kid and my mind will never be changed. The plot and characters are amazing, i loved the lore and story.

I never grew up playing these games, but I grew up watching them. I played Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, and Spyro and Cynder were my favorite Skylanders to play- so obviously I was curious about them and stumbled upon these games. I always loved the aesthetic and story despite my little brain not being able to comprehend most of it. I didn't even know another Spyro game existed before these until the remake was announced and was released lmaoo. This will always be in my little childhood heart as my favorite Spyro games.

While the orchestrations are great, I fail to remember any of them. It's not very memorable. Lack of Leitmotifs.

I want a continuation of Spyro. I want to know what happens next even though the ending of the Dawn of the Dragon is the perfect ending of a franchise. I just want to see much more of Spyro's and Cynder's love to eachother.

If you have a comic relief character, then it needs to be comic relief. If you change the voice actor, it usually changes the character as well. Spade sounded like he was into his character

I wish so much the Legend Trilogy would get a remake. But unfortunately the original Spyro purists aren't the friendliest bunch.

Whoever was the voice director in all of these games deserves to be shot. While the dialogue was hardly ever oscar worthy, they really did manage to get some pretty good actors and voice actors in (lord knows how they managed to keep Gary oldman for all three), but they did nothing with them. All were squandered, with tones that didn't reflect the mood of the scene, or doing things like absolutely ruining Mark Hamils voice with some stupid after effect (I remember watching some promotional material that showed him in the recording booth, and his voice sounded genuinely intimidating without the effects). I just don't really understand how you could get so little out of so many talented people.
Crawver I wouldn't call the dialogue bad though, for dragons its serious and cool in its way, others it's quirky and amusing and I like that about spyro games including sparx and his over the top silly act. Sorry I wanted to defend it abit Xwx. I think I can understand the voice acting though. But the dialogues good to me ^-^
I thought Gary Oldman did a pretty good job. He made the narration quite enjoyable to listen to.
I like how terrible Spyro is nowadays compared to this.
It definitely has a rich storyline compared to the original Spyro, a slightly more darker tone to it as well. It would be great if they not only remastered this trilogy, but also went in depth with Malefor's rise to power, as well as to how he was imprisoned. Preferably by a slightly younger Ignitus, Volteer, Cyril and Terrador before they became guardians.
As to who the characters should be voiced by, I would say Jack Gleeson as young Ignitus whilst Gary Oldman reprises his role as the Chronicler (a.k.a. Old Ignitus). For young Terrador definitely Michael B. Jordan, as for young Cyril and Volteer I'll admit I am rather stumped to be honest, it'll come to me eventually I hope. But Mark Hamill should reprise his role as Malefor in my opinion.

I was hoping that we could later on play as spyro grown up.
I remember in the Spyro ps booklet it actually had a picture of Spyro grown up and with a medal for all his deeds.....I always wished that was a hidden ending for the game but that wasn't the case
When you're 6 years old playing the first Spyro game on PS1 and in a certain level(Icy Cavern to be exact) a dragon tells you that Spyro will grow and he never does the way you would imagine in any of the PS1 titles, urgh, I still remember the disappointment :[

The game was all over the place on platforms. The only consistent one was PS2, and it is really cut down in graphics compared to the xbox and PS3 versions. Wii had mid range graphics, but the best controls in the third game imo.
LOL, I forgot that they gave Cynder was given 4 separate powers for the last game too. Poison, Fear, Wind, and Shadow, LOL, SHUT-UP~! We'll all cut ourselves on that much edge hahahaha XD I bet that's why 16 year old me loved playing as Cynder, gotta vent all that teenage-angst out somewhere, hahaha.

I don't think there's a need for another part to be added to continue the series. The ending is beautiful. They all have the peace they deserve, the peace they all linged for. Spyro completed his destiny. Cynder proves herself worthy not of evil. And they found each other. They may not be found by their comrades, but at least they're all happy.
Spyro and Cynder have each other to prove that their bond together, presumably now as mates, is their happiness
I wonder how other dragons would react seeing Spyro being the young dragon himself found a potential mate at an early age, to the point that Ignitus shipped them the moment he found the chains bound them together and how Sparx just have mixed feelings about the two of them😂
Among all pairings I've seen in games, movies, and series, I just love how the antagonist is a female who became good because of the protagonist, and is also the potential love interest.
It's nice to see how the main character believes the antagonist could change and ended up falling in love with her. The development of their relationship makes me so drawn into this game series😍

What I loved the most about these games was the music and the explosions. The music was beautiful and there were so many explosions.
I don't want just a remaster, I want this shit to continue! That sequel bait at the end of Dawn of the Dragon can aid in the creation of a continuation. I've played the classic games in 2003 and forward, as well as this trilogy. I personally prefer the edge, dark, epic, and badass storyline, AND how badass they turned Spyro. This trilogy was just super cool. I matured with the games, and it's hard for me to appreciate the Reignited Trilogy when my most recent adventure with Spyro was about darkness, ancestral dragons, and Spyro is the dragon of prophecy, and not calling Gnorcs ugly and burning sheep.

I don’t understand why all the hate for legend of Spyro for blocking enemies on your path or being too dark. Last time I remember jak and Daxter did that in all the games with the same combo, sly cooper did too when you would have to steal keys or kill guards in your path or steal the clockwerk parts just to save your family legacy, sonic unleashed did this too in the werehog levels and you gotta turn dark at some point and use that darkness for good kinda what cinder did for dawn of the dragon, ratchet and clank, and GTA. They were all repetitive combat and dark stories. So legend of Spyro I feel it does not deserve so much the hate because it would be hypocritical to think that it’s the only game that does this type of gameplay.

This was actually an impressive trilogy. It may not be better than the original, but I still loved these games as a kid and my mind will never be changed. The plot and characters are amazing, i loved the lore and story.

I never grew up playing these games, but I grew up watching them. I played Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, and Spyro and Cynder were my favorite Skylanders to play- so obviously I was curious about them and stumbled upon these games. I always loved the aesthetic and story despite my little brain not being able to comprehend most of it. I didn't even know another Spyro game existed before these until the remake was announced and was released lmaoo.
This will always be in my little childhood heart as my favorite Spyro games.
