Morning Peter & Anna, what a stunning video with so many architectural buildings to see. I can imagine them in their former prime state. A real pity how neglected buildings are vandalised for people's own satisfaction of their greed. So much planning and hard work has gone into those projects and so sad about the chateaux the daughter just giving it up. We never realised what we have until it's gone!! Nice to celebrate with Shirley and John, they always look happy and contented. That cathedral is absolutely stunning. I cannot imagine how they built is in those days and placing those gargoyles on the edges, I think they are horrible but that was the style. It was a nice video |Peter away from home for a change, a quiet video as well. Take care kind regards.
Thank you for showing us around Limoges. What a beautiful chateau such a shame it's felling in disrepair, but you are right, you need very deep pockets. much love to you both. Caroline xx
Thanks for taking us around all the lovely old buildings to admire all the architecture etc..lovely to travel from the armchair !! So many chateau's , so little time ?!
Thank you for another beautiful video. I love going sightseeing with you both. Happy anniversary to Sheryl and Mark. Thank you for sharing. Love and Blessings, Doris 🇦🇺🦘
Beautiful chateau! It's such a pity to see it go to ruin. Pleased to see you both and your friends wearing black armbands in honour of our beloved Queen. I join you in your toast to the King.
Nice day out brocanting. Sad about the chateau and so sad this happens to so many chateau restoration owners. I hope the present owners get a good price for it and rebuild their lives elsewhere. So nice to toast our new King.
Well that was a nice surprise! It's just after 1am here in New Zealand, and I've been watching a documentary. I just thought I'd pop over to TH-cam and there you were! Limoges looks so beautiful in that sunshine, very cool brocante! It's sad when families have to lose their chateau, hope it gets good new owners. I do love it when you take me tripping around, I'm getting to know the French countryside pretty well, I can even recognise some places now! Big hugs and special pats for Charlie and the kitty cats xx
Several you tubers show brochants and I speed through them. But yours is different...something about the soft music, your pace and your narration causes me to watch each second of it! I enjoy your videos immensely. I've watched you since you began and look forward to each video. You have a unique outlook, style and sense of humor that I appreciate. You can make and repair anything. I think you're brilliant!
Happy Friday! Oh so disheartening to not be able to finish restoration! Thank you for including us in your travel into town to celebrate your friends anniversary. Anna! Please bring back your wonderful giggle. I miss it when I don't hear it! Say hello to all the farm animals as I am one that loves seeing what they are up to. I always look forward to the videos. Have a good weekend. Your friend, Carolyn from Colorado USA. PS. We aren't all nuts!
What gorgeous sounding church bells, and I love the old architecture of cathedrals and churches. They just fill my mind with wonder at how they’ve stood the test of time. The masons and anyone that had a part in building them did beautiful work. Modern buildings can be lovely but not a lot of style. Art Deco is very nice too. Beautiful weather for a walk about and nice visit to celebrate an anniversary with friends. Your meals look amazing. What a beautiful château and land. So good to hear about the history about the home. Very sad that the daughter didn’t have a love for her home. Sad ending for what was a jewel of a property. Thank you Peter an Anna for taking us along on another day out. Such fun. Have a great weekend my friends. From Northern California. It’s finally cooling down. ❤❤❤
Love your videos especially the brocantes, and what a gorgeous surprise to see Shirley and Mark, I've been buying exquisite little bits off Shirley for many years.
Love the Art Deco building make have been fabulous when new ! The chateau that’s for sale I imagine to be quite stunning but I bet a huge money pit ! Thank you for sharing xx 😊
I was sad for you when you left the chateau but now your videos are as the man said( it's like a box of chocolates you never know what you will get .) such a lovely mixture, although I live in France you show places I probably will never get to so thanks
Lovely way to spend a Sunday morning, joining you as you amble about shopping, dining, and exploring. Thanks for the fun and information on the Chateau you discovered.
I just found your vlog. I sat and binged watch all your episodes, Love your style and can't believe you don't have a large following. I will mention you on some of the other sites. Love from Alabama, USA.
Did anyone else whisper back to Peter, "Yes, go in!" at the Gardener's cottage at Walmath Chateau? In the past, have you filmed inside that gorgeous cathedral before? I would love to see the architecture and the stained glass lit up! I loved Anna's up-do. So pretty!
Very nice tour around Limoge and the Brocante finished off with a lovely lunch with friends. So sad to hear about that Chateau Walmart you would think the government would somehow assist the owners in the maintenance of these buildings as they are a part of history. Thank you for the video
You’d think with all these beautiful building that there would be a trust and funds would be allocated for repair and restoration. I guess one’s loss is another gain. Very sad!
Another lovely trip out, the brochante was great and the food looked absolutely delicious, is the cost of living more or less than in England?? The chateau was beautiful it’s such a shame it’s having to be sold, but they must be a real money pit sometimes I bet when you have finished one job there are many more waiting to be done.Carry on blogging I love looking, and feeling like part of your adventures in France, Love Aileen xx
Sadly hundreds of chateaux in France that were liveable a decade or two ago are now derelect, always gets me angry. An amazing large Georgian house in which I played as a teen in Scotland that was perfect, is now four ivy covered walls ( on the buildings at risk register ) all because of neglect.
I just love Limoges so many beautiful buildings there. What a shame lovey buildings just are left to ruin. Does the chateau that is up for sale need a lot of works done to it? It would be a magnificent building if was brought back to its former glory. Loved watching Peter and Anna
Great video as usual guys, I love coming out with you two, makes me so sad when people lose there Chateaus due to funding, an English person or an American will buy that, at least I hope so it’s too beautiful to go to rack and ruin, much love to you both xxxxxxxxxxxx😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Another wonderful day out with your friends, the food looked yummy. The church was stunning and everywhere looked nice and busy. I get the feeling you would still love a chateau as so would I but in reality they are mostly money pits. To buy one cheap you need the time and funs to get you to where they can earn you a living. Were as now you are living your life. Any plans on a gite to earn an income? You were looking a little house a while ago. X
If you want to buy a chateau/Manoir in France remember LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...is there enough in the region to attract the clients that can and will pay the amount you want to charge...a chateau alone will not entice the tourists in unless you buy Versailles or Cinderella's castle in Disneyland Paris...So many chateaux are next to nothing in the middle of nowhere and advertised as calm, stress free which also means you cannot buy fresh bread unless you spend 50 Euros/Bucks/40 Pounds on essence to drive to the nearest bakery!!!! that adds up...50 bucks for a baguette?????
very interesting info on the house... great vlog as always thanks for sharing... just a quick question, the whole vlog is in letterbox view... cant seem to change it on my comp' is it meant to be like this? it chops your heads down most of the time.. cheers
Sadly Peter! It’s a common theme. Such a waste of heritage and beauty. If left in such disrepair then it should be given to the town and people with some ownership back to the owners.
Love your days out for coffee or dinner. You are soon to find a property to buy, you know! Something you just have to have. Love watching!

So nice to toast our new King.
Beautiful town to have a brocante in. So sad about the chateau. Lets hope a sympathetic owner buys her
Fantastic day out … and Happy Anniversary 🎉
The cathedral at start was interesting. How sad about the chateau, bet it looked grand at one time. Thanks for sharing, till the next installment xxx

I’d love to see you both take on the restoration of another historic building. A small one like this little gatehouse would be perfect.
Love the Art Deco building make have been fabulous when new !
The chateau that’s for sale I imagine to be quite stunning but I bet a huge money pit ! Thank you for sharing xx 😊
Thank you for taking us on your trip. The area is very interesting. Old buildings are money pits for sure
Another great walk about.....thank you! The chateau is very interesting and has so much potential.
Lol that reminds me of my old grandma in Somerset. She used to say 'there's crowds of folk in frome today' when there were about 30 40 people 🤣
I was sad for you when you left the chateau but now your videos are as the man said( it's like a box of chocolates you never know what you will get .) such a lovely mixture, although I live in France you show places I probably will never get to so thanks
That was a lovely vlog again....the history, the Anniversary dinner...yum!.....the lovely abandoned Chateau and some history.....well done!
The garage reminds me of the Peugeot showroom that was built in late 20s
Lovely way to spend a Sunday morning, joining you as you amble about shopping, dining, and exploring. Thanks for the fun and information on the Chateau you discovered.
Bonjour ce week end ce sont les journées du patrimoine pour pourriez visitez de nombreux monuments habituellement fermé aux publiques
Nice chateau ..but I think your place is just as lovely…
Yet another great vlog! We learn so much from watching. Keep it up! Love to you both. 💖
How sad😭
Love Sue❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤

Thank you so much!!
I have just watched the video made by the owners of Walmath and the work they did was stupendous ! Sad that they too are losing their project.
Did anyone else whisper back to Peter, "Yes, go in!" at the Gardener's cottage at Walmath Chateau?

That cathedral is amazing! The bell sounds to beautiful too. That's too bad about the Chateau. I hope someone can buy it and finish the job.
Fantastic way to start my day in the Pacific NW. As a military history buff myself, would love to see more of your collection Peter!
Thanks for posting. My architecture teacher used to call ecclesiastical buildings, and the messages embodied within them; "sermons in stone"
Looks nice the beef dinner but more veg needed

God save the king
Are you putting an offer on the château?😁💗💗💗
So sad about the chateau, the looting must have been terrible 😢

Would you like to buy that Château? The name Walmart? Do you have Walmart in Europe?
It is Walmath not Walmart.
Small house is too small for the head gardener, I'll bet it was th butlers' digs??
To posh for th gardener 😆🙄
At 13.17 did you fart? 😊
This has depressed me Peter. Shows you that the barbarians are at our gates. And don't get me started on his daughter... *#*$*#*## 😠
