Despite my efforts, there is a criminal element in the leadership of Tulsa Oklahoma that is attempting to ignore the information that I have been given them about a mass grave between two railroad tracks just west of downtown. In 1973 I,as a Tulsa police officer, was shown pictures of the grave and I have tried for 21years to get a decent Christian burial for the victims buried there. I have contacted the mayors office and the police chief as well as both the Tulsa and the State commissions and have so far been ignored by all. This has prompted me to take action to open the grave myself and expose the 100 year old cower up. The grave lies east of the Sand Springs railroad and just south of the west end of the pedestrian bridge at the intersection of 9th street and Olympia ave. A bulldozer dug a ditch between the two railroad tracks and the bodies collected at Newblock Park were buried in the ditch. I intend to open the grave myself before the 100 year anniversary of the grave being dug on the 4th of June. Thank you Bob Patty.

Thank you for covering this story and bringing awareness to this massacre. Thank you as well to Mayor Bynum for getting this excavation underway. The bodies of those massacred deserve a peaceful and proper resting place.
This cemetery was originally a coal mine strip pit 1860-1921. That's why, it was difficult to find the bodies. There are nine other sealed coal mine strip pits in Tulsa. Yet, the abandoned coal mine at 11th and South Periora, was erased from the city records!?!
Absolutely they were " erased" the murders that did made sure to cover their so called tracks in terms of paper work.....but what you put down(darkness) will come up( light).....God makes sure of that......the ancestors are speaking 2 us.....
I struggled on whether to comment or not. I can remember not long ago I was reading comments. Making this seem insignificant. Making jokes, classmates/people I grew up with and others. (wow surprise, they found bodies in a cemetery). This is another black eye on the face of a nation. Built on a foundation of words at that time even though it was said applied to all smh really didn't. But this mass grave, events and many more are untold and covered up with dirt and hidden by time. These human beings were murdered simply because they existed. The fact this area was made into a cemetery I might add to conceal this mass grave site gives you a better understanding as who was involved.
...and as a final insult, Oklahoma in the 1970s drove Highway 244 through the center of the rebuilt neighborhood of Greenwood, Tulsa, Oklahoma dividing the community in half, in the name of “urban renewal.”
These "people" never ever drive thru the white neighborhoods destroying families.....only people of color including native Americans....claiming eminent domain or others lies so they can have the property
Hopefully, for humanity's sake, these 12 Americans are properly identified and given a decent burial. The story of the Tulsa massacre should be duly noted in American history. Just because someone says something, doesn't make it so. Hopefully, all Americans can learn from this very dark day in American history. We as Americans need to learn from our history. Let the healing begin. God bless the folks in Tulsa, Oklahoma. God bless America.
30-40 confirmed dead, possibly 300+. Pretty sick folks,a dark hidden chapter. Wouldn't it be unwise to put a mass grave in the cemetery? Had heard they may have had multiple locations of mass graves, scattered, hidden, the challenge is to find those.

You'd think they would have a memorial plack or the burial be on record by the cemetery if properly interned. I don't know but I do know the event that caused so much loss of life is horrible and even if they were treated properly and officially buried with respect a memorial ceremony and re- internment is the proper thing to do. Remembering this history and understanding this isn't a bad thing it's a way to make sure this doesn't happen in the future. Educational for everyone.
@JAG, I perhaps chose the wrong word when I said to show them the respect they deserve. I didn't mean it as them being disrespected now. This is so messed up😔🙏 I never knew this happened to these incident people just cause they was successful.😔🙏 This is so sad! I watched a story on it and I just cried. Definitely eye opening
Successful AND Black. Don’t leave that out. 💯
And were just going to sit here and act like this is normal!! These are our ancestors with beautiful minds that needs to be heard! No more sad face emoji's! We need to hold these past crime accountable!
@@C-Mack If the survivors and their descendants continue to carry the pain, why shouldn’t the murderers and their descendants carry the shame? And why not make reparations too? They probably stole some stuff of the people they murdered.
@@C-Mack God has recorded all the atrocities committed by the inferior society and he will execute judgment on the guilty party.
@@webdarkking Descendants of those who carried out crimes shouldn't be blamed. That's like someone related to a serial killer such as Lizzie Borden or Adolf Hitler, do you hold a descendant or relative a guilty verdict on the account what his or her evil and wicked relative did? The evil and wicked deeds are committed by the very ones who murdered or did other horrific things. Unlike Adolf Hitler has living relatives, surely what Hitler did of his evil and wicked deeds shouldn't be blamed on his relatives.
It's like I could have a evil and wicked relative somewhere back in history, but do you attack or harass people who are distance cousins or relatives? No! Absolutely not. Anyone could have a evil and wicked ancestor that they didn't know about.
A serial killer is responsible for he or she done, not exactly the relatives. The same with the Tulsa Massacre gangsters. You have to find out who are the ones committed racist violence, and what happened.
@@ashleynave8132 Their names should be released if they did this.If they did it,history should remember them for it.But it's a moot point because it will never happen.
AGREED! The Jewish are STILL being compensated. I do believe the African-American suffered a worse HOLOCAUST.
This makes me so angry and heartbroken 😔
We going to learn not to repeat mistakes of the past. And move forward.
I grew up in Los Angeles, California with my great grandmother I was 17 years old in the early ‘80’s and she never told me about this black street massacre she was born around the 1920’s I probably guess it was to painful to tell me and they never ever taught about this in school at all Ian just now knowing about this and now I am 56 yrs old y’all check out the Underground Railroad on Netflix it remain me of that I feel so hurt inside but we have to keep fighting and protesting the struggle is real peace and blessings to you all

This is some of the history some states are trying to ban from being told. There's *hundreds* of other "Tulsa's" in American history.
RIP Crimes against humanity. 😢😢😢
God is love peace & unity.
Satan is hatred violence & racism.
@JAG
You're ok with evil hatred & racism you don't see anything wrong with that? 🤔
Why is the city acting 🤔 like they didn't know that mass grave was there.
Because It's shameful.
Thank you for covering this story and bringing awareness to this massacre. Thank you as well to Mayor Bynum for getting this excavation underway. The bodies of those massacred deserve a peaceful and proper resting place.
Face your hate or your hate will haunt you and your descendants ........ Never Again should we as a nation tolerate such atrocities!!
@@musicartlover963 You are so right. TK
Them bootstrap were tight and working. Black folks with planes in the 20s. During a depression.
They didn't like that one bit.....how dare they have stuff and be prosperous.....thats only for white people...
Diggin' up bones, diggin' up bones, exhuming things that are better off left alone..
They say no one knew body’s where there in that cemetery but there where gravestones everywhere but in that area........
America knows..
Until you make it RIGHT, It will never be RIGHT. In 1921 your city $4M from the people who were murdered. Tulsa owes the survivors!
If Shepard was still at fox, he wouldn’t of been allowed to cover this story
30-40 confirmed dead, possibly 300+. Pretty sick folks,a dark hidden chapter. Wouldn't it be unwise to put a mass grave in the cemetery? Had heard they may have had multiple locations of mass graves, scattered, hidden, the challenge is to find those.
Some type of reparations 😢😢😢💔💔
@JAG I'll give you that.
Exactly the victims got nothing
This is the reason our people----Black people-----should be teaching our children the knowledge they should be provided about our own History----at home.
And while you are at it-----teach your child---young adult---then Adult----about the Critical Race Theory & why Whites don't want it taught in public schools!

We black folks were being productive, building are own! They do this! So stop saying black people don’t do for themselves.
The commentator states that not much of the elevator assault was known concerning the charge of the 17-year-old female, against the 19 yrear old male, but while he was in custody, a mob of armed black citizens came to the courthouse to "protect " the 19 yr old male. and the authorities called for assistance for protection from the mobs. Had the mobs left their guns at home, and not attempt to take matters into their own hands, this incident of mob violence and retaliation, would not have escalated to destruction and death. The "good book" would say, they did reep, what they did sow.
Cue the racist saying things like " Get Over it" and "why yall race baiting".
Stop calling us African American WE are just American
@Dat Boi ye we wuz kangz n Indianz n shiet
That explains why US keep calling other countries having massacres
The remains have to be identified. This cooperation is needed going forward. The total Community awareness is needed.
I used to work with a brother from Tulsa an he said he never heard of the Tulsa riots I knew about it for some years a brother told me about it back home in Jersey.it must of been mad painful for his parents and grandparents not to talk about it an I understand why; it must of been horrifying to go through something like that.
WHY WASNT THIS ON THE NEWS
I mean it was but we didn't hear about it in arkansas and we are right next door
Those people was Murdered
They new where they are buried... They didn't just find it...they think we're stupid.
did they ever catch the killers?
No because they never looked for them.
They are in nursing homes living they best life....
This is what opponents of CRT are shamed and afraid of. Obviously not in Tulsa.
CRT is a complete nonsense
I’m so surprised people don’t know about this. This is the most public massacre. Many more like it.
It’s a Damm shame no one was held accountable!
This being put in front.
12 bodies...
Well they have a guy who seen photos of 100 bodies bury in a mass grave
The Mayor who is on here acting like he is trying to find the mass graves knows where the bodies are.
Near a railroad area on the west side of Tulsa .
100 of bodies buried in ONE PLACE.... not 12.... that’s bogus!
Pay REPARATIONS to those descendants NOW
LIES UPON LIES but our ancestors are here with us still in spirit
Watchmen gave us the next steps
My My !! Look how the dead is still speaking from the grave in 2021 still screaming and crying.. God didn’t forget yet what was done. And their will be justice for every mason hateful act done on that Day

Does anybody know what date this was broadcast and what recent developments there have been since if nothing else these people deserve a proper Christian burial
May they be laid to rest properly and may they now rest in peace.
Maybe they were already laid to rest properly. After all, they were buried in a cemetery. Just saying.
@JAG Yes I know that and all the more reason to show respect
@JAG, I perhaps chose the wrong word when I said to show them the respect they deserve. I didn't mean it as them being disrespected now. I don't know the circumstances of the who, what and why they were buried together. I'm glad to hear there is a memorial plaque so people can pay their respect. I still think this could be an a way to educate and reflect on history. I thank you for your patience with me and your information.
@JAG , in one grave?
One year later and they still don't know who those people are. just that they were buried in a graveyard. Looks like the news is bearing this story again.
so sad...don't worry...trust your government
I don't imagine more mass graves will be hard to find- it's just that nobody was looking- until now.
Theres probably more bodies under the baseball field downtown
On 05/29/2021 there were 100's Black militia members were armed marching w/ Black women, men, and children through Greenwood. There were sniper teams spotted in tall half built buildings by militia members and a couple tense scenes with police. Then they FINALLY honored the previously submitted petition to an open carry march. The ancestral vibrations were intoxicating 🤜🏽🤛🏽💯🪲🌕⚫
What does it take to defend Jessie turner?
Look up Knoxville Red Summer of 1919. Absolutely insane.
Better find them bodies & issue those checks. Cause, let's be honest, that's all they want.
Always something weird about digging up dead bodies......
How is this America
the fact that this inst in any history books is just sad and i literally found out about this massacre when the oldest survivor was asking for justice in court.
