- I sat down with Technical Stage Staff, Adrian Samaroo way back in March 2023 on the Brilliance of the Seas. In this video, we discuss what he has to do as a working Stage Staff on board a cruise ship.

Amazing interview Christine, and great hearing from Adrian! Love hearing from the various roles within the theatre tech teams, helpful for figuring out the direction I want to head in.
Ha! Stagestaff doing climbing wall, doing wheelchair, doing laser tag and helping out others department. Good production manager should raise his voice and save his people from extra work beyond the stage.
adrian is a legend, one of the most chilled out person ive met, he was my pm on liberty! miss him!

What consoles do they usually use on these ships ?
They usually use DigiCo in the main theatres and big venues. The smaller Venus use Yamaha LS9 or Mackie consoles

How many hours per day working technical stage staff?
It varies but it averages out at about 8 hours a day

And you know if they need carry some havy staff ?
You do need to be in relatively good fitness. But yes you do need to be able to move and load things but anything really heavy can be shared out between a few stage staff.
