Hello Rob, I am enjoying seeing the albums that you found in Chicago. For some reason everytime I hear Chicago mentioned I think of the Sinatra song with the same name. "I saw a man and he danced with his wife in ChicagoChicago, Chicago that's my home town". I dig the Bruford 'Earthworks'. I know you love Gabriel so it was good to see the 'Steam' 12" with the DJ writing and all. It gives it that extra touch. But I know how you feel. It is always nice to have a pristine copy of any of our favorite artist's releases. 9:03 A Classic! May I add that it has been a pleasure seeing you posting a few videos recently. I enjoy each and every one of them thoroughly. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Waiting for the sun in Massachusetts~ TOR/Boston
Thanks so much, my VC brother. It's always a pleasure to hear from you, and I appreciate your kind words. The day of the Crawl was wonderful, and I really enjoyed meeting the VC folks who joined us. I wish you could have been there! Thanks for the kind words about my recent videos. It feels good (if not a little strange) to be back on YT. I hope I can continue the momentum. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I still don't know how you manage to find time for so many of us, but I am grateful for it. Much love, TOR/Chicago
Ha! Well... more than the last year, for sure. Things got pretty crazy for me last August, and YT was one of the casualties of the fallout. It feels good to be back making videos, though. Thanks Kris.
Totally agree. I subscribe to many peoples posts on TH-cam but Rob's is the only one I never miss! Great job buddy! And Great job on your posts as well Erik!
Mike Turner Thanks so much, Mike! That means a lot to me. So glad you guys are making videos and posting on FB these days! Let's figure out a way we can do some digging together some time soon...
Would love that! I am hoping I can participate on your next record crawl in Chicago or maybe Milwaukee?!?! :) Either one and maybe Erik and Jeff could join us!
I would love to do that sometime! I want to thank you again Rob for inviting me in to this awesome family we have here! Like Mike said, your videos are the best and I am always looking forward to them! And because of you, I have got into the video bug and have branched out my musical interests! Thanks again!
Three videos in a couple of weeks! :) Lots of great stuff, Rob. I have that Bowie 10" as well - more of his R&B tinged stuff that pre-dates his 1967 debut. Definitely a cool artifact to have in the collection.
I might have known that you had a copy of that Bowie 10" too, Bret. I was very happy to find that. Thanks a bunch for watching this. Not only three videos in a couple of weeks, but after nearly a year of YT silence. Perhaps I need to plan VC record store crawls more often! ;-)
Great finds love the buddy whaler album and the peter gaibreil defintley some nice finds will defintley have to do some Chicago digging when I go back next year.
Chicago is such an awesome place to dig for records. Thanks for watching, Richard. I definitely recommend stops at the stores mentioned here when you visit the city.
Hi Matthew! Yeah, Passion is an amazing soundtrack, and for a great film. Passion Sources is a wonderful glimpse into Gabriel's influences. As you listen to it, you can hear how some of those sounds took different shapes and forms in the finished soundtrack. It's rather fascinating, to be honest.
Oh man, it's KILLER! They had three copies in the store and all of them were sealed, so it wasn't until I got home that I could really check it out. It's at least as good as I had hoped, if not better! So happy to find that.
Loved seeing your finds, Rob! I need to collect some reggae one day soon, that book you found looked cool. Black Uhuru has been on my list, but the album Red. the only other you showed that I was kinda familiar with (and not reggae :P) was the Mouse on Mars... I know I had some mp3s back in the day from that group and enjoyed them
Mouse On Mars is a fun band. They definitely keep me on my toes. I hope you do pick up some reggae in the near future. It's such wonderfully positive music, and a perfect vibe for this time of year. Uhuru's Red would be an excellent place to start...
Video from Rob! Nice digs. Some highlights for me are Passion Sources (I am still on the hunt), Creation Rebel, Roots Radics and Scientist!!!, and you saying "...there is a big ol' bud right there." R. O. C. K. E. R. S. Rockers. Cheers, Dave
Haha! I was totally taken by that Carlton Livingston title and cover. There are big ol' buds all over that thing! Hey, I might have a line on another copy of Passion Sources. I'll let you know if it works out because I owe you some VCLT! Thanks for watching, Dave.
hello rob.good to see you back in full vinyl mode.great selection there.although i must admit that i`m not so much into reggea myself.but i`ve got to love their aesthethic with those tasty titles and all.did you know that graham smith from string driven thing temporarily replaced hugh banton on the van der graaf (without the generator tag)lp ?he featured also on some later peter hammill solo albums.thought i put some trivia for you in there.o.k.i`m on my way again.blistering days here in the netherlands and i got to see it through before the holidays finally arrive.take care in the meantime.
Hi Henry! I didn't know that about Graham Smith. Thanks for the info! I'm still trying to figure out if I'm "back in full vinyl mode" or just inspired by the record store crawl. Time will tell, I suppose. Of course, I have remained in full vinyl mode in the VC Facebook group, even during my long absence from TH-cam. It's not the same, I know, but I certainly haven't had any sort of waning interest in music on vinyl! Sorry to hear it's so hot over there. Hope your holidays arrive soon! Always good to hear from you, my friend. Did you notice that I managed to figure out a few new editing tricks with this video? No where near your editing skills, but I'm happy to have learned a few new things!
Nice finds Rob! ! Wish I had a group of vinyl lovers in the area to go record shopping with...bit jealous Rob hahaha. ..ofra haza had a hit here in the netherlands with the song im in alu? ?? from 1988 i think. .have that on 12 inch. I know she died a couple of years ago.. very popular female singer ... cheers, Marcel
I'm so glad you've heard of Ofra Haza, Marcel! So many people that I talk to have no idea who she is. She came to my attention with the "Ya Ba Ye" single, which I think I still have on 12" single. I was very happy to find a copy of 'Shaday.'
Yaaay B Movie , I recently picked up that 12inch single Rob , they're one of those bands who had a limited number of issues and I always pick up anything of theirs I come across. Bret actually sent me the American release of Forever Running , John
You know what, John? I thought of you as soon as I saw that B Movie single. I know you have it, but that band's records will always remind me of you. So far, I only have this single and Forever Running, but I'm on the lookout for more!
Hey Rob, some very nice finds there. You mentioned noisey vinyl early in your video. I know you use a cleaning machine but I'm curious to know, have you ever tried an excellent Australian product called Record Re-virginizer? I have been using it recently on many of my finds and it works quite well. I'd say the success rate is about 80 - 90%. No...I'm not connected to the product in anyway. :-) Cheers, Rob!
I haven't heard of that product. My record cleaning machine does a great job, though. When I end up with noisy vinyl after a cleaning on that thing, it's either due to a bad pressing or scratches in the grooves. I wonder if Record Re-virginizer is available in the US...
EoLoVoX I'm not sure if it's available anywhere over the counter in the US. Obviously you can buy on-line, but it gets a little expensive. Anyway, you can check out their website. I have found a local supplier who is actually cheaper than the source and doesn't charge for postage in Australia. Cheers!
I'm no Eolovox archivist or anything, but check out your video called 'Other vinyl from Milwaukee Trip' and notice your first record. It appears as though you now have a duplicate you didn't know about. Did I just win some sort of hidden contest??
Wow! You're good, Brian! How the HELL did you remember that?! What's even more worrisome is how the HELL I forgot that I already had it! The mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Ha! Yeah the reason I remember that is because I bought that record after I saw it in one of your vids. So when I saw this, I scoured your archives like a mental patient to find it. In your defense, I've bought duplicate records way more than once and I have about 10 times less rekkids than you. It's all addiction related and not mind deterioration :)
goodwi11 Well, there's probably SOME mind deterioration going on. With the way I treated myself in high school and college, I would be surprised if there wasn't! I have to tell you that I find the mental image of you "scouring" my archives "like a mental patient" pretty hilarious. Glad to hear you have a copy of Passion Sources, though!
My finds video will come! The issue is my iPod (how I film & upload them) will only upload videos that are about 10 mins or less. So I made one that was close to the length of yours, and no dice. ARGH! Will keep trying. Just so much to talk about, I don't want to just go "RECORD, RECORD, RECORD, RECORD, RECORD, done." Ha!
I know what you mean. You may have noticed edits in this video where I decided to cut out some of my babbling. To be honest, I don;t even like to make videos this long, but I shaved it about as much as I was comfortable. In all honesty, I wish we were all still restricted to 10 minutes, as in the early days of TH-cam. Some people now regularly make VC videos over 30 minutes each. I don't know who has time to watch many of those. Please do make a finds video at some point, Jim. Irrespective of its length, I'd love to see what you found that day!

Threat To Creation: for decades one of my all-time favs....good find!
I was VERY excited to find that one, and blown away that I found #14 / 1000. Thanks for checking this out!
Didn't even know they've reissued this one...have an original (or 2?) over here... :-)
2manyrecords
Wow! An original! How different (if at all) is the cover art?
EoLoVoX Almost the same...the 'A' on the front cover is not on the sleeve...(That must be part of the reissue's label name, I guess...?)
You've made more videos in the last two weeks than you have in the last two years! So good seeing you, Rob.
Ha! Well... more than the last year, for sure. Things got pretty crazy for me last August, and YT was one of the casualties of the fallout. It feels good to be back making videos, though. Thanks Kris.
yay Rob so glad to see you again!
Thanks Trish!
Another great video Rob! Really enjoyed it and the way you made them! Happy picking!
Thanks for the kind words, Erik!

Love that Bill Bruford album, Rob!
I really need to get Passion AND Passion Sources. Love that film; love the music, too.

Cool stuff as usual, Rob! Nice editing, by the way.
Take care.
Cheers.
Thanks so much, Miguel! I appreciate your time and your kind words.
That book is fantastic. Nice find.
Thanks! I was really thrilled to find that, and even more thrilled to discover that it wasn't super expensive.
Hey Rob Nice finds I need to score some Hacket I like that book too. Thanks again -V
Thanks Vance! I think you'd enjoy Steve Hackett. He has a number of quality recordings, many of them pretty easy to find.
Loved seeing your finds, Rob! I need to collect some reggae one day soon, that book you found looked cool. Good scores dude. Been a busy summer but have had some time to go record shopping myself. Keep on rawking.
Thanks Josh, and thanks for checking this out. I did better than expected in the reggae department on this trip.
Great stuff rob. Looks like it was a great trip.

I'm Always curious on your reggae finds :)
This wasn't the best set of reggae finds I've ever had on a dig, but the day went pretty well in that department! Thanks for watching.
Sweet finds! Especially 'Don't be fooled by the Name' by Bowie! - Blake
Thanks Blake! It was a good day.

cool the Japan,Severed Heads, B Movie 12 Inches!!! i'm really jealous ;-)
Thanks for watching and commenting, Dave!
hi rob, just wondered why your video back ground is different from your past regular music room?
Hi Jerry. I'm doing some renovation in the main part of the music room, so I'm at the back end of it in these more recent videos.
My finds video will come! The issue is my iPod (how I film & upload them) will only upload videos that are about 10 mins or less. So I made one that was close to the length of yours, and no dice. Great stuff rob. Looks like it was a great trip.
