I've had 5 companies do quotes (a lot, I know but there is just so much to consider). All the companies used the annoying sales tactics you mentioned, the 'must buy' tonight price and the larger companies like Anderson and Pella have the rotating monthly 60% or 40% off. These tactics do make me lose trust and feel like what else are they doing that isn't straight forward. Maybe that's why I'm still looking.
I started a website where you can find a great window dealer in your area. These are companies that I know personally and can recommend. Check out TheWindowExperts.com
It would be great if you added frame measurements to your reviews, either that or did a video on the various frame measurements for each of the windows you sell
Love your videos, very informative. Wish you reviewed slider windows in addition to double hung. In desert climates is it better to get Vinyl with exterior clad vs. vinyl exterior? Thank you
Both daughter and I have used the big "A" product. Different homes and different products. We both have had install (water leakage) and factory quality issues. Over a year trying to get "A" to replace the incorrect glass or the correct glass installed inside out. FYI, if the low e coating is not on the correct glass surface, it does not perform as stated/quoted. Factory (lack of) quality control problem.
Champion always try the sales gimic bought a door paid cash but trying to get through customer service is a pain they tell you you can Emil with photo of problem
I have a manufactured mobile home an am looking to replace 4 appx. 30 x 66 windows single pane windows with new vinyl windows.. The existing windows are not trimmed out on the outside and are on top of the fiber siding so you can see the full flange lip and screws for easy removal. My question is wouldn't it be easier to replace them with new construction windows? I would have less view area loss and to me it seems would be an easier install? The companies I have had out to quote new windows all want to use replacement windows and then charge more for trimming them out? I personnel don't mind the flange lip being visible. Please advise and thanks in advance
Thanks for the reply, I have found a Weld-Jen window called Flush Fin which has a trim around the window so you don't have tp trim it out, but I can't find where to buy it?
My wife and I had a renewal by Anderson rep in our home today. I have very little background with windows and have a few more quotes on the way. Anyways, The rep was great at first but kept putting down vinyl windows. He said that even the best vinyl windows are shit compared to Fibrex. After taking 3 hours to explain why his windows are the best we finally got to pricing. He said that for 9 windows it would be 38k. Now I'm not one to get shocked by high prices but I nearly shit my pants. He asked us to guess the price and my wife guessed 15k and he laughed in her face. After I told him that my wife and I need to speak about this he got butt hurt and yelled at us... It was actually really funny lol. He slammed his laptop lid shut (after using it to present a 3 hour long PowerPoint) and said "so you don't want my windows". One thing that he lost me with was he said that wood windows suck because they rot (we are in NY) and that vinyl windows are cheap crap. He said that fibrex is the best material and that even clad wrapped windows suck because the wood underneath rots. This left my wife and I confused because both of our parents have vinyl windows that are in great shape. I laughed a bit when he said that fibrex is made of polymer and not vinyl, both are still a plastic lmao.... But now my wife and I have no idea what windows to even look at because it was a mess. One thing to add is his whole talk about R value. He said that with every window except theirs the seal would fail from the factory resulting in loss of heat. I find it hard to believe that that would occur. In addition, he said that low-e is an awful rating to have and you need their like super rating to have any benefits. Bunch of bs. I would never recommend anyone invite them into their home. it was the worst sales experience I have ever had....
Hahahahah! I laugh in African! Because I had a Renewal by Anderson rep come to my home last week and tell me that all my windows were failing. I haven't had anyone else take a look, but will do so. He then told me it would be 17K to replace just the windows on the main level. Isn't that the budget for a major remodel???? LOL. We are considering finding a reputable contractor and shopping for windows ourselves.
@IndestructibleTurtle the question is - what year was this? I believe the inflation is partly due to the rise in demand of real estate and house renovation/remodeling, etc

Sorry to hear about your issues. Hopefully you'll not have any future problems

I agree with you. Keep looking for someone who can do it.

I'd call JeldWen and ask for a dealer name.

@@nitarrh It was this year back in august
41k what’s the price if I pay cash ?
That was the cash price. We offer a 3% discount for cash/check because we don't have to pay the bank a processing fee.
@@HoustonWindowExperts expensive but reasonable. Is this for Vinyl window ?
Can you send me some windows to Florida 😅
