Newby here. Duduk bought, allegedly it's in A but it was bought over Amazon so there's no telling. Seemed like a decent deal because it came with two reeds that are fairly good quality and a case. Reed on its own is an A when brought to a tuner, but the duduk itself has a tonic of F (when all holes closed is an F). Do I have the wrong idea of what the tonic is, or is there something wrong here? I've heard that a duduk and a reed of different tunings can cause problems, but surely not this inaccurate.

Wow... surreal. I got a Duduk some time ago and I'm trying to find out which scale it is in. I think it's in D, but it's a little smaller than the one in this video.

usually Duduk in A is considered the most common one with professionals.

You can either get H pitch by lower C reed on C duduk or sharper Bb reed on Bb duduk.
There are H duduks too though
they might be using German notation ? "H" = B and "B" = Bb

As you can see I make all the Key duduks, but most useable key is the A

@@destrypetrov G duduk is just one key lower than A duduk
@@destrypetrov the range of all the duduks are the same. The only difference is the key that makes duduk sound differently. Hope it makes sense.
