- Am back in INDIA! Visiting Kerala to celebrate their biggest annual harvest festival: ONAM!
Kerala is the only state with the highest number of festivals being celebrated and Onam is considered the biggest and most celebrated festival there.
I got to experience the preparations of Onam; making the flower “Pookalam”, joining the lively and lovely parades with the people of Kerala, along with trying Onam’s huge meal: Sadya Meal!

Onam is a harvest festival which celebrates the return of the legendary King Mahabali/Maveli to the state. The festival falls in the month of Chingam, between August and September, according to the Malayali calendar. It also marks the beginning of the Malayalam year, called Kolla Varsham.
This is what we need...love between humans apart from religion, caste, countries and creed!! Thank you Khalid for this amazing video and portraying the beauty of Kerala!!

Not just one festival to celebrate. There are many like Onam, Vishu, Eid, Christmas, apart from these Soo many temple/mosque/ church festival what we call Utsavam or pooram, palli perunnal. Irrespective of religion we celebrate all this together.

Please try to understand brother. Hindus believe in Vedanta/ Advaita ( non -dualism). Everything is a singular consciousness that gets manifested in infinite forms. The ultimate aim of a Hindu is to have this realisation ie realisation of non dualism. It is possible through 4 ways / yogas : Karma(Action), Bhakti (Devotion), Raja(Meditation) and/ or Jnana(Knowledge) yogas.
So you, me , Krishna, Shiva , Goddesses, idols etc. are manifestations of the same God. If there is nothing other than God in the universe, how can we worship "another"? Please try to understand!.

I know so many punjabi s they have different ways of engaging in cultural activities. If i like it and consider it a part of punjabi culture it isnt generalizing culture but understanding it as a part or extention of the bigger cultural practice. 🙄
