The all new Kodiaq is here and I've taken a look just outside Prague. Available for the first time as a plug in hybrid with a range of up to 100kms, the 5 and 7 seater SUV also has diesel and petrol engine options. With up to 3 trims coming to Ireland (TBC), this car will undoubtably build on the huge success that has been the previous model Kodiaq. Watch now to find out even more about this hugely important car for Skoda.

As a long time Skoda owner, the boot works with a kick in and out not a sweep. The sensor is horizontal and works if you poke your foot forward and back, not a sweep side to side.

I've lived in Prague, and had a number of company Skodas. TBH if you need a car these days, Skoda really have you covered. A lot of good, solid and clever car for the money - you'd have to ask yourself how you can justify buying any other brand (and likely pay more) if you are spending your own money.

Love it, normally I love the sportline, but the matte grille is nice. Also the base version looks less cheap then current version. It has a bit of a BMW stance to it. But I saw sportline has the bottom plastic bits in color, which looks a bit sweeter.

About legroom: The new skoda superb has more legroom for your knees, but the Kodiaq has so much room under the front seats that you can actually stretch out much better in the Kodiaq than the superb. So it is misleading to say the the superb is roomier. For a road trip I would always choose the rear seats of the Kodiaq over the superb.

      @appstratum9747 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

The other way around for me, I'm afraid. 🙂
Wasn't a big fan of the first version but it was nice enough would seriously consider it at that time. I liked the facelift of that and would certainly shortlist it. This I don't like (front lighting cluster and rear quarters) and wouldn't even consider it. No matter how good the car was on the road and to live with. I'd be way happier with my existing car.
On the other hand I really like the new Superb (even more than the previous one) and would buy it (and almost certainly will buy it).
Both the new Kodaq and the Superb seem excellent cars. I think anybody who likes the styling of this can't really go far wrong if buying it. Skoda are making some great cars. In in the rush hour yesterday I looked at all the expensive BMWs, Audis, Mercs (and the odd Volvo, even) around me and thought: "Honestly... I'd rather buy a Skoda". Says it all.

Surely a Self Charging Hybrid would have been a much better option. PHEVs add around £5K on top of normal Self Charging Hybrids, and you end up paying more for charging.

I wonder where the progress is in this car... ergonomics are worse than the previous car, like all recent VW group cars, same engines (ok the PHEV is new in this model), probably wlsound insulation at best is same as in the old model, usually VW cheapens out new cars wherever possible...

For now at least I much prefer the look of the current version. It has a character that others, including VW are missing. Sadly the look is now predictably blobby and generic. No doubt it’s a great car but it’s not the first time I’ve felt this way about new models.

Mercedes-Benz have more room for manoevre when screwing up on the styling front. But even BMW can't persuade too many people that beaver teeth are attractive. Why they even tried after "Dame Edna" 5-series and "pre-crashed" Z4s from Chris Bangle I'll never know. But hey...even Volvo are taking their XC90, charging twice the price with the EX90 and making it look like a cheap and nasty glass fibre kit car knock off of their own produce (with a dash board and instrument pack to match).

Undoubtedly an excellent car, I'm sure. For me, the styling changes have ruined it. The upper/lower front light cluster is as elegant and timeless and the previous generation Skoda Octavia upgrade. Effin' dreadful, in other words.
The silver D pillar was disgusting and tasteless on the Audi Q2 when that was launched. It's just as hideous here. Perhaps even more so. For me it just seems a shame that the designers "gave up" on a bad Friday afternoon when it came to designing the rear quarter. Too fussy. Trying too hard. Not at all sophisticated. Fisher-Price could've probably done a better job of that part of the car.
Rear of the car is ok. But on seeing a before/after set of photos of the rear I genuinely preferred the older car, albeit there's not a lot of (significant) difference.
The interior is very nice IMHO and I really like that. I can't say that I've ever been a fan of direct multi-colour ambient lighting strips. They're pretty tacky as far as I'm concerned. The indirect (concealed) ambient lighting - foot wells, door handles, centre console, etc - for me is far more sophisticated, restful and pleasurable. If I stay in a really nice 5 star hotel, the bedrooms and bathroom are very skilfully lit. If I say in an Ibis Budget hotel then cheap and nasty LED ambient lighting strips are regretfully appropriate. It's a real shame that car manufacturers don't take a hint. There are surely much better ways to spend money.
I really, really wanted to like this car. I really liked the last facelift of the old car. But sorry.. this is ugly enough that I wouldn't want this on my drive. It wouldn't given me any pleasure to look at walking back to it in the supermarket car park.
The new Skoda Superb, however... I'd buy one tomorrow.

What this display does, placed so high in a middle of a console?!? Is this a "televison-set", or a tablet for tablet-addicted people? Am I buying a PlayStation? What is this!? Should I play a game on this display while driving!? Why this display is not lowered and merged into a general curved shape of a middle console? I am driving now Kodiaq but this over-display in 2024 version is truly annoying. I will change the brand! You just lost a customer. Also, why you have increased car in length by around 6cm? Now (2023 Koadiaq) was perfect for city or offroad driving. What do I need this extra 6cm for? For problems with parking? Or for better off-road? Please give me a hint!
