Sony did their own Atmos mix for this release, and there are noticeable differences. There are some parts where the Sony mix has deeper LFE, and there are some scenes on Second Sight mix where there is a slight echo to the dialogue. Sony fixed that issue. These are nitpicks, I think they are both great releases but there certainly are pros and cons to each.
I pre ordered this in my country but for some reason the delivery is delayed. Hope to have it soon. Love this film edit: I cancelled my order and went for the second sight version after hearing your take on the Sony version
Goes back to the day of the wiz/circuit city they release a dvd then 3 weeks later they release the same Svs with a longer version and extras and wide screen maybe they should sell the Blu-ray at Blu-ray prices with a surprise 4k for free ???
Prefer the og Steelbook the new goes also hard though. If I had to choose one artwork for the inside of the of Steelbook it will be the scene where driver gets a ride with Irene and her son and they just having a good time! That would be great
@@williamdriver1959 this transfer was a solid one… just when you are comparing with Second Sight it’s tough to compete. But they both aren’t a bad option.
i hate when they release the steelbook they make you buy the bluray again knowing that we have it why cant they release it in just 4k for less money ??
@@babymaker13th yeah, that’s a better question. I sometimes wonder if it is done just to get their surplus out of the way (and make an extra buck or two while at it)
I started taking all my blu-rays out of all my 4ks and my DVDs out of my blu-rays. It's a very dumb idea And very wasteful. At least my friend has a lot of free movies because of me. He doesn't appreciate them but it's better than selling them piece meal on eBay.
Watched Drive last night outside on my projector, great movie!!!! Couldn't believe it's already 13yrs old.
@@movies_music4life I thought the same thing. I remember when this movie originally came out like it was yesterday.

LA, to me, plays itself in _Falling Down, Nightcrawler, Drive, Heat, The Big Lebowski, and Miracle Mile_
I agree with those. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood looks great too. Also, The Nice Guys
@@MrBuketman Oh yeah, forgot about those! Also don't wanna forget about MaXXXine.
Add Chinatown to the list. Editing to add L.A. Confidential (want this on 4K)
Collateral.
Thanks for The Review dude. I already Have the second sight disk But I love the steelbook for this one so I’ll be getting it
Thanks for this! I couldn’t get my hands on the deluxe Second Sight release so I had to get the Sony steelbook. Looking forward to it to arrive.
@@Hellblazer73 I don’t think you’ll be disappointed… great movie with a great transfer.
I’ve started to move away from the Second Sight chunky box sets. It really is all about the discs.
@@KBLovesMovies my thoughts exactly. Their transfers and special features are all I am really interested in.
Night crawler. Now that movie needs a 4k release

Wow, I wasn't subscribed, I am now.
Where the Day Takes You. Also Lost Highway.
Steelbook had issues closing. Ordered 2 from amazon.
Most times Sony does amazing transfers.

@@steelbookobsessed I agree
I ordered the Sony but cancelled once I realized the SS 4K is on BD100 vs Sony’s BD50 (at a similar price).
BD66 apparently SS has a lot of extras though.
C'mon guys, Escape from L.A. is the quintessential L.A. movie 😂
I mentioned this channel
I got tricked. The drive scene was short. Not worth the price
I just hate that it’s $45 bucks.

They don’t “make” you do anything. You choose to. You can also choose not to.
@@Reverend_Nadawhat I mean is why not release it without the Blu-ray I’m sure everybody has the Blu-ray already 😮
