I'm not a master craftsman so don't take this the wrong way but felt is a more traditional liner for sword scabbards as it's less prone to staining or rusting the blade.

a wood/leather combination for the scabbard would look so nice. some nicely figured walnet or some other exotic type of wood.

The leather inside? Is Not a Good idea. It can Draw moisture and Ruin the blade, and? If it start to come apart over the years? It will jam up the blade going in or coming out. ❤Your work is very Beautiful, and well done. I have been a Blade smith since. 1976. All the Best. Jinx da Wolf.
