I grew up an OU fan; my dad a lifelong Texas fan. When Dusty Dvoracek tipped that pass to Johnathan Jackson, and scored that touchdown, he decided he'd had enough. He went out to mow the lawn. My mom came home from work, saw dad outside mowing, she knew how it was going. She could always tell how the game was going from our reactions.
I miss the days when we had those badass defenses! BOOMER SOONER!!!

Even though the BCS was a sham at that time, if I remember that season right, Oklahoma dominated the regular season plus had the #1 strength of schedule that year
I remember after Ranking's touchdown to make it 44-13 my dad throwing the remote at the tv and by some crazy miracle it hitting the off button. I remember him telling me "don't you dare turn that tv back on"

Any time Texans wants to say OU sucks, just point out this game to them and watch them immediately lose all train of thought. Texans always think their team is better. Yet OU has won 7 of the last 11 Red River Rivalries. OU has more conference championships the last decade. And OU has more National titles than Texas. SO WHERE IS IT THAT TEXAS IS BETTER THAN OU?

@Matt Beeman playing in the crackerjack crap bowls. OU has lost a good amount of bowl games to some damn good teams. Who cares if texas wins the Alamo bowl or whatever against the mac conference runner up. OU has also won a few bowls that none of you folks want to talk about.

What! The AP has always been regarded as The Poll. Bama won the coaches, USC won the AP that year. Regardless of what OU did, USC was still going to win the AP.

These are the good ole days, when OU out played texas and was jus a tougher team. The only time texas won was when OU was in a rebuilding year or had a Heisman trophy winning QB go down with an injury. Now it just seems OU doesn't care about beating and texas and beating OU is all texas has to look forward to now that their program is in shambles (regardless of the 24-17 W they got this past weekend).
My boy Dennison got him a piece late.
Young a good quarterback in college but I don’t remember him playing pro. Maybe the hard hits he got in college was nothing compared to the pros.

You beat the 05 team that was littered with true freshman starting everywhere. 08 is the only good OU team Texas has beat in the Stoops era. 99 (1st year), 2000-04 (losses), 05 (freshman QB, WRs, S, CB, ect), 06 (QB booted weeks before season starts), 07 (loss), 08 (1 good team they beat), 09 (no Bradford, no Gresham, 3 TEs playing o-line & Texas still barely won), 10 (loss), 2011 (to be determined)

Okay, OU lost the Big XII championship game to K-State. So why didn't USC play LSU & Oklahoma play Michigan in the Rose Bowl?
Edward Richardson all teams had one loss at that point, but OU has played better teams.
They were bound by league contracts.

Since OU played the #2 ranked team in the bowl and USC played #4, OU got more of a bump at the end.
