Gosh such a beautiful setting! Aren’t you lucky to have this almost on your doorstep. Lovely painting and so nice to come along with you in the glorious sunshine. It’s a little more chilly here in England 🇬🇧
I started getting into watercolor because of plein air painting. I've watched a million videos but this short video just taught me so much! From the water control to the reminder to loosen up and paint impressionistic strokes because of time limits or just to loosen up. Watching you use this New Wave Pochade Box as a watercolorist finally convinces me that I NEED IT in my life! I have always wanted to have something so very compact and neat to paint on. Your reply to my Instagram question about painting upright on an easel with watercolor really opened my eyes. You said that one just has to control the water in the brush. I had a lightbulb moment as I never thought to not use gobs of water! :::facepalm::: LOL Thanks so much for sharing!
I really enjoyed watching your plain air process. I don’t feel confident enough to do this yet. I need my at home studio to control my painting process…but I really admire you for going out there, setting up and creating a beautiful painting. Thank you so much for being a great inspiration!
Here in our green and pleasant land of the UK, we would be hard pressed to find scenery like yours. The watercolour painting of this amazing mountain view was delightful to watch. Thank you for sharing.
Love it. Beautiful Colorado view and good points about the Cotman vs Professional-Grade W&Ns. I've never fully enjoyed painting outside in Colorado - too windy most of the time, but sometimes it's really fun and I love that you show us how you do it. Thanks for that!
It looks like a stunning location Emily. Your painting turned out great. It is actually trying to snow today here in the U.K, I think I will wait a while until the weather warms up before I venture outdoors with my paints!
What a fun video. You’re fearless! I would like to paint my garden, create a directory of sorts for all the perennials in my yard, season by season. I’m curious about who filmed your b roll? Shots of you?
Beautiful both painting & view. What size was your sketchbook and what size would you prefer? I do like the Windsor sketch box too and agree that the cotmans lack in pigment and prefer the professional. Tfs
Like so much the detailed research of the mountain shape
Luv it. I felt like I could relax there 4 a very long time. Nature is awesome.
Nothing beats being outside!

Thanks, Rosi, for your comment! Plein air painting is so addicting!

It IS windy. Definitely have to plan for that! Thanks for your comment!
Hi! I didn't know you were in Colorado - I live in Boulder, you can see the city in your view. Beautiful video, thank you for sharing your talent!
OMG thank you for this video! The painting spot was magnificent! Love your plein air videos.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You are such a good artist I can't even explain in words. Nice artworks .keep going.
I bought this set and replaced all the colors with professional WN and DS paints and it’s my favorite palette for urban sketching!
This is a very beautiful painting indeed.
Thank you so much 😀
I want your artist hat. Its so perfect. Lol
REI! :)
Oh I love this!!!❤❤❤

I'm sure we'll get one or two more snows here, too! :)

Thank you very much!

Beautiful, nice video !
Thank you!
Beautiful! I work in Boulder and live in Longmont.
Love this place!

Thanks, Glenda! I had a couple tripods set up for the b-roll shots--that's why my pack was so heavy, hah hah!
Beautiful both painting & view. What size was your sketchbook and what size would you prefer? I do like the Windsor sketch box too and agree that the cotmans lack in pigment and prefer the professional. Tfs
The sketchbook is 6x8 inches and it's great! I like a small size since I have to paint fast when I'm painting on location.
😊👍
Emily, what is your plein aire setup called?
This is the New Wave U.go pochade box and tripod. :)
