It's not Frieren's aura that made Aura obey the order to kill herself. Aura's spell was explicitly described as a spell which weighs the mana of the caster and the target, and whoever has more gets to dominate and control the other. Frieren had more mana, tipped the scales, and so Aura had to obey Frieren's commands.
yea, Aura defeated herself. did you noticed Frieren didn't use a single battle spell. no offencive or defencive ones, just dispelling magic. she didn't even fight Aura or her army, aura was fighting herself lol
imagine how OP Flamme was. Her spells are still relevant after a thousand years (while Qual was absolete after 80), and in her late 20s / early 30s she had more mana than a 500 years old demon sage. She truly was built difference, her only weakness was not being an elf. And now Frieren, without the weakness of a limited lifespan, is killing Demons as she learned from her, loved the flashback and obviously the mana reveal, one of the greatest anime moments.
the worst part is that she taught Frieren, who will live for thousands and thousands of years, will definitely surpass Flame(already did, if we talking about combat power) and she wants to destroy demon kind as much, if not even more than Flame herself. not to mention she's a fkn genius in magic trascription, which is the worst thing for demons, because they study one spell thier whole life to make is overpowered. by saving Freiren and teaching her, Flame basicaly made demon kind doomed to extintion in future.
13:48 You wanted to see the 10 year journey to kill the demon king? Well there it was, hopefully you didn't blink in those few frames we got. I think a year feeling like an hour might be a bit of an understatement for Frieren if that's how she remembers the journey...
@Circle9ru not just fucked, "royally" fucked. She was so royally fucked that they had to pad out the episode with lore dump filler from frieren's past to make sure they made the episode 20+ minutes instead of just 10-ish minutes.
18:01 As far as I’m aware in the manga there was only a few named beings who were stronger than Frieren that we’ve seen so far. Two of them died one of which being the Demon King and the other is shown in a later episode but because you’ve probably already seen the other episode I’ll say- Flamme’s teacher named Serie who was implied to be strong enough to defeat the Demon King by herself. She’s grown even stronger since then and is even said to be the closest there is to the unknown goddess from the mythical era. Serie(Flamme’s teacher) even toyed with another being who was stronger than Frieren.
nah, Macht is not stronger than Frieren. the only reason she lost to him is that his curse is overpowered, same as Zoltrack used to be. once they got a protection from it, Denken almost stand equal with him, and Frieren wiped the floor with Denken in EP21. most demons are one trick ponies, its just the "trick" of some is better than others.
5:56 that with mana is precisely what lugner said was a disgrace to mages. Pretending to be inferior when they are in fact superior, to them is a disgraceful thing. Given their (the demons') values that put a heavy emphasis on an individual's mana...
2:31 to be fair, it's not just flamme who's so fine...if you look at her VA's other roles, you'd probably actually turn into a broken record saying that. Her roles are as fine as her voice...a lot of them...
finaly another amazing episode. at least top 3 in the entire season for me. we also got a lot of stuff to talk about here dispite not realy getting new names aside from some demons, who instantly died anyway: - one "blink and you miss it" moment. we now get to see why frieren is always so tired. because constantly supressing your mana is actually tiresome, so she always sleeps in so much. - if you don't constantly train to supress your mana, experienced mages cans ee fluctiations in your mana and know you are supressing it, as stated by aura. and it takes a lot of time to master this technique. so that is why not many people do it - another "blink and you miss it" Heiter was actually jacked. sure he was 5x of frierens supressed mana but if we assume, that she keeps her 1/10th at her supressed state, he still had half her overall power and in turn was almost as strong as aura with her 500 years of life. that is propably how he aged so well compared to himmel. - frieren lived near a village and watched it grow into a massive city over 1k years. after she met himmel, we get a short collection of frames with himmels group in less than a second. this moment is in line with the rest of her 1k years of just existing. so in a way we got to see how frieren percives time. with her overall lifespan, her time with himmel and his group was basicly over in just a blink of an eye. and looking at frieren who still seems like a teen, she isn't even that old as an elf. - we also see how important flamme was for frieren. not only keeps she using flammes most favorite spell, the flowermagic. she also wears the pendant of flammes necklage as her earrings. - frieren keeps killing strong demons with their own spells. first was qual, who got killed by Zoltrack, his own invention. Aura got killed by the scales. we actually see her last moment from her pov, when she beheads herself: the method of killing she always used on pacified victims of the scales, if the living armors around her are any indication. ofc frieren didn't need to flex her mana on aura but we also know that someone with a strong will can fight the mental control. with this move, frieren crushed any resolve aura had left, so there was no chance for her to resist the command.
I agree that's it's smart to hide mana, but when the social norm is to show all mana when fighting, hiding mana during battle is considered breaking the rules/cheating.
Frieren is awesome with her thousand's year combat and magic training. But here's the catch, Frieren is merely immortal at this point but Flame and 30-40 years magic was able to best monster like Frieren and Serie at some point. Unfortunately, Flame was born as a short life spawn human and not as a dwarf or elf
you shouldn't probably talk about Serie since he doesn't know who she is, but she is on a totally different plane of existence from any other mage that it's not even comparable. Flamme was a monster considering she was a human, but Serie man... not even close.
to understand the "unfairness" about hidding their mana just think of it like a duel between knights, but one of them just poisons his blade or have a dager hidden or something like that... because most mages takes pride on their magic, this is why is a "mockery" to magic and a disgrace to mages
@@CrypticBoss To the demons, they actually, genuinely love magic. To see someone putting on an act, who then turn out to be competent strikes any magic user - not just the demons - as massively insulting. Its like the someone who was a bumbling normal guy, who then turns out to be an incredible martial artist, or baseketball player (randomly thinking of any 90's jackie chan movie, or white men can't jump). Except this was someone doing it on purpose, specifically to fuck with you. That is why any magic user, at least one who doesn't hate other magic users (of which demons are the most), would think what Frieren is doing is "unfair" Still badass to see though
It was the scale that made her kill herself. The scale weight each opponents magic power and the loser has to do what the winner says (hence why her eyes changed). She didn't willingly do it.
@@josephmachnik7488 ah I see. I actually called it a few times throughout the episode that Frieren's aura would break the scale. Especially during the 14 min mark when Aura was so confident, I couldn't wait till she got proven wrong
frieren literly is one punch man but with the utt most respect for the world shes living in. when frieren joined the party to kill the demon king, she literly already was strong enough to one shot him herself from her doorstep without ever leaving town. but she allowed these people to find some purpose in their lives by going on the journey with them. so when ever people said she needed himmel to gain awareness n respect, nope she had that already, n learned it properly 500+ years earlier An Entity with such a long life expectancy simply has a completely different point of view. Scaling yourself down to the point where you can even perceive people you might only meet once in your life and who have died of old age before you even get back from a "walk" is unimaginably absurd. yet she does.

Frieren releasing her mana always gives me goosebumps. This show is just absolute peak.

The last few minutes is basically aura trying to cope against her better judgement and instincts that she is at that point, well and truly cooked...
well, they choose the perfect soundtrack to play in that moment, the music clearly give the understanding that Aura is fucked...

Episode 10 is the most badass ep ever
The first time Frieren flexed. Still manga gold.

But like they're demons who don't care about humanity so would it still be unfair/cheating 👀

Flamme was a human. She aged just like you and me (well, aged far better, but still).
also good news is season 2 will happen for this show in the future.
also episode 12 of dan machi season 5 not until April 2025
cooked? heiter has five time of the suppressed mana of frieren one tenth, which means that he has half of frieren total mana bro
its not 1/10. look the episode better, they show her visible mana there, its may be 1/100 of full, may be...
