Thank you Eirik. I am about to make molds this week and this was helpful. But I have to admit, it was a bit difficult to understand all the information about how you handle undercuts. If you are going to make more videos in the future about this, could you possibly place yourself in the video and point towards what you are referring to? Sorry, I'm a bit slow. Lol
Hello and thank you! You are right I need to figure out a better way to show what is an undercut and how to look for them and avoid them. I will try and come up with a good solution for the next mold making video I make.
What are you using as demolding agent between the yellow silicone and the mother mold? And is it the same to prevent the mother mould parts from sticking to each other ? Thanks!
Hei Eirik, i know i'm commenting on a rater old video, so i don't expect you to answer. But i'm gonna ask my question anyway. Why don't you in this particular case fill in the the undercut in the face and the crotch area with rubber? It seems to me that it would not use an unreasonable amount of rubber and could save you alot of work, not having to do two extra mother mold pieces.
I have had bad experiences with thicker silicone section getting stuck so I'm a extra cautious. I'd rather have an even silicone skin and do a little extra work on the mother mold. But you're probably right! It would have worked just fine making the silicone thicker in some spots.
Thank you for the descriptive and useful video 👏
You are welcome 🙂 I’m glad you liked it!

Nothing, silicone only sticks to itself. So no need for a demolding agent.
