    Thank you so much for your instructions!! I've never heard about this kind of silicone here in Brazil for sculpture!! It's hard to learn alone and your help is so prescious! Thanks!

    great video and nice insights! however, im sceptical about the sunflower-oil tip for gloves in the beginning. that sounst like sculpting release agent onto and into the first layer

      That's what I thought and why I don't do it on my personal work. However I have done it helping someone else make their mold and it didn't seem to be a problem.

    I ran into your TH-cam this week and I have to honestly say you are my favorite and that I greatly appreciate you sharing your beautiful pieces with us. They are just breathtaking!
    Would you be interested in doing a live stream I would love to follow along with you!? I am now and there aren't and sculpting classes in my area.
    Much love and creativity

      For now, no, the studio is open and I share the space so I have to be conscious of the noise I make. Plus the internet is bad!

    I dont understand how you can demold with the large hole between the arm and body

    • @EirikArnesenArt
      @EirikArnesenArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You will see, it's going to be very easy. I'll cut the silicone between the arm and the body, it will be like there is a silicone wall there, just like I'll have on the outside of the figure.

    so talented! Do you have to coat the clay sculpture with a release agent such as vaseline before adding the silicone?

    • @EirikArnesenArt
      @EirikArnesenArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, silicone releases quite easily from the clay.

    What is the correct way to prepare clay for sculpting

    • @EirikArnesenArt
      @EirikArnesenArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just take it out of the bag. No preparation needed. Most clays appropriate for sculpting are like this.

    Could you tell us about how much silicone you use for a project like this?

    • @EirikArnesenArt
      @EirikArnesenArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is probably right around 5 kg of silicone.

    Great video as always!! Looking forward to seeing the next part. Would this technique and this type of silicone work well with oil based clay?

    Are you using oil based or water based clay?

    • @EirikArnesenArt
      @EirikArnesenArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is water-based clay but sometimes I used oil-based clay as well.

    Just came across your Channel. I'm 25, started to seriously draw this year with the goal of sculpting one year. I know i have a far road ahead of me, but eventually i will be able to sculpt. Do you think it is too late to start now? Great Channel

    • @EirikArnesenArt
      @EirikArnesenArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Never to late to start! My suggestion is to just start sculpting as well as drawing. They go hand in hand and one will inform the other.
