After decades of speaking English in Canada it's bound to creep into her Italian a tiny bit. I'm in much the same situation. Hiiii. How are you? I don't know if you know, but in 2013 Lara had an accident while rehearsing on stage just before one of her converts. Her sound engineer almost exploded her eardrums, through the device that singers use to listen to themselves, her left eardrum was almost exploded. She had to cancel her tour im Europe nas Canadá, she kept in treatment for several months (we do not know if either she had a surgery in the eardrum or not), but we do know that she spent many months with a speech therapist and also with her classical singing teacher in order to help her. She das unable you speak or hear for maning the treatment. And for more than 2 years from 2013 to 2015 she was unable to hear her voice inside her head cavity. That's one of the reason after this tragada she has now the Meniere's Disease (which is terrible nas very painful), she had to adapt several words of her songs, changing the pronunciation of some vowels, as for example the word BELIEVE, in the song Adagio, she started to sing it with the sound beLAve and no longer with the sound of "IE" in the beLIEve part. After this accident, it took a few years for her to feel comfy on stage again. She also commented that she currently cannot hear herself 100% while singing, she might lost 40% of her hearing ability. We can imagine how physically frustrating and painful it's, since she was trained in the Bel Canto technique for more than 10 continuous years at a conservatory in Belgium. Thank you. Lara Fabian è nata in Belgio a bruxelles ma i suoi genitori si sono subito trasferiti a catania (città natale della madre) dove passa i suoi primi 7 anni di vita, tanto da parlare bene italiano riesce anche a parlare il dialetto siciliano, per poi ritornare in Belgio inoltre è sposata con un italiano originario di catania. Lei è molto orgogliosa delle sue origini italiane, però in italia non è conosciuta se non per l'adagio di albinoni e per la canzone con Gigi d'Alessio "un cuore malato", ha provato a farsi conoscere meglio partecipando a un edizione di Sanremo ma venne subito presa di mira dai giornalisti, in più la canzone non la valorizzava. Nella sua carriera musicale più volte ha cantato in italiano scrivendo anche pezzi in italiano come adagio e poi altri pezzi come toccami e lou dall'album mademoiselle zhivago, e quella più recente un coeur a la fenetre canzone parte francese e parte italiano. E' un grande peccato che in italia non sia conosciuta perchè è una cantante a 360° gradi, molto umile e umana.

Italian is such a difficult language to learn. My native language is french and I am fluent in english as well. I tried to learn italian and gave up after a few months. The numbers are unspeakable and the rest of the language is so difficult!
