Leberecht Maass is the tier 7 German tech tree destroyer in World of Warships and is based on the first destroyer of the Zerstörer 1934 type which led the way for the development of ships of this type in the German navy until the end of World War II. KMS Leberecht Maass is a tough durable destroyer capable of fullfilling different roles depending on the different scenarios presented during World of Warships battles making her feel quite versatile. Although now well established in the game at tier 7 Leberecht Maass finds herself amongst stiff competition. Japanese contemporaries Akatsuki and Shiratsuyu are the undisputed kings of torpedo attacks at this tier while American counterpart Mahan has the best guns for close-range combat. Russian destroyer Minsk is very nearly a light cruiser with her large detection range, comfortable shell ballistics, and rate of fire. world of warships german destroyer, german destroyer ship, world of warships destroyer guide, wows german destroyer, german destroyer line, wows german destroyer captain skills, german destroyer line wows, german destroyer leberecht maass, wows maas guide, leberecht maas wows, leberecht maass wows, german destroyer maass, wows german destroyers guide, maass wows, kms maass, kms maas, leberecht maas, maass world of warships, wows, world of warships,dd guide, german destroyer. So what sets Maass apart from the crowd? For starters, Leberecht Maass has the largest health pool of all tier 7 tech tree destroyers. Successful Maass captains will quickly learn how to bully other ships out of contested map areas by utilizing her health advantage. She falls somewhere in between the Japanese and Americans in terms of armaments: her torpedoes are solid and reload fairly quickly, while her guns give her the rate-of-fire to engage in close-range combat with other destroyers as long as captains are smart enough to compensate for her slow turret traverse. Maass’ 8.5 km range torpedoes are married to a hull with a 7.7 km base detection radius, enabling her to launch torpedo attacks from the cover of stealth. Though she lacks access to the 150mm main battery mounts of her predecessor and successor, she does retain Ernst Gaede’s access to the hydroacoustic search consumable. This makes her ideal for defending caps or pushing enemy destroyers out of their smoke. Maass’s handling is a bit of a mixed bag, with a larger than average turning circle and a slightly-slower-than-average rudder shift speed. She is also very slow to accelerate and decelerate, and sheds a lot of speed during hard turns. Her huge detection radius makes her almost unplayable without the concealment expert skill, and her anti-aircraft suite isn't worth mentioning. The aforementioned turret traverse speed is very nearly Japanese levels of bad, making Expert Marksman and/or Main Battery Modification 2 required skills or upgrades, respectively. All told, Leberecht Maass is a versatile destroyer capable of engaging in stealthy torpedo attacks in the early game while shifting to a more aggressive stance as the game progresses, using her health advantage to bully enemy destroyers and ensure map dominance for her team. Hello and welcome once again everyone, The German destroyers have been given a buff to their high explosive rounds so it's time to revisit the line and see what help it has provided them. This was a nice game with the Leberecht Maass from my livestream recently and I hope to play more of the line there so feel free to come on over and if you have any questions I can answer them in realtime. I hope you enjoy the video and until the next time keep sailing it like you stole it o7
Playing DD’s is one of the hardest aspects of the game for me. It is one class that I have ignored for the longest time until recently. Thanks for your upload it was very informative, and for me every little bit helps so I don’t suck as bad in the future.
I could imagine the Gaede at the start screaming abuse at his team in chat... and the empty sound of a squeaky office chair slowly spinning around inside the loneliness that is that Cossack player's mind. Nice Kraken.
Lol and Lol😂
Your videos are so damn calming and I have to say, very informative.
Well done. You find a lot of players like the Cossack who just have no idea how to exploit the attributes of their ship.
Tis true, at least I was able to exploit his presence pretty well despite his best efforts not to use his ship to maximum effect😉
Very enjoyable, thank you.
I love this little ship by the way, everyone laughs and mocks me, but I still feel really comfortable in it and it performs for me
Well played Sir. I like the buff. NOW I can use m guns and do damage.
The MAAS is not very often seen and I hope due to the buffs we will see them more often.
T22 got the hdro and a hydro duration buff. And the Destroyer beginning with tier 6 the HE
penetration buff.
Thank you for the upload Sir. All the best!
Thank you DaHoGi, I will try and play more of this line soon to see if the other tiers also feel a bit better now.
Very Impressed with your calm demeanor while DD driving, I tend to bipolar between murderous cackling and screaming like a little girl. Also, as an older player - fifty nine next month - I appreciate the absence of vulgarity in your videos: I get enough of that everywhere else :)
Another great replay and commentary. Thanks for sharing it.
I am not a fan of the scrolling banner for build information... I love the idea of using whole words instead of abbreviations or symbols, but the scrolling was a bit much (for me anyway). Maybe if it was slower?
Great video - please keep them coming
Fair enough! I'll add the screenshots again including the list of skills and slow it slightly
Nice Vid' with a Kraken released thumbs up
Thanks Boby! 👍
A very tense game CC! I am curious, you have gone PT rather than PM? Is this useful for German DD to offset the poor concealment? I does seem that the RPF build is the way to go in the tech tree line, so while I have unlocked the Maas, I've dropped to tier 6 so I can get that skill before moving on. Excellent as always CC!
Hi Keith, With a max concealment of 6.8km Maass will be spotted a lot and you will be fighting in the open a lot and knowing how many are targeting you is very important information to know whether to disengage or continue fighting
@@CarbineCarlito
Thank you mate, very useful as always!
Ok, a huge factor in that victory was the akizuki very very poor judgement.
hello. what is your best advice for winning 1 to 1 dd duels?
Hi Ayman, This is a question that is simply to immense to answer in just a comment section. I'm going to be a playing a lot of destroyers on stream and I'll address this along with other tactics and strategy to employ while playing dds.
Nice work captain 👩✈️
Thanks 😁
Can i have tip on how to play the ognevoi and in general the line? And is worth grinding French dd? Anyway keep going with your guides 👋
You had a really good game here. I find it odd that you would use guns so much in a DD when you have torpedoes. Anytime I used guns, I got detected very fast, and with the very light armor of a DD I was soon sunk. If you were going to use your guns so much, why not just use a cruiser or BB which has larger guns and some even have torpedoes even if they don't go very far. As a big fan of dd's this is something I'm very curious about, and the other thing, how not to get sunk firing guns. Usually when I fire torpedoes, I deploy them than kite out of the area for a few minutes while the enemy shoots at me, but in a case like that I have the advantage to kite away because I deploy my torps with my ship turned as far as possible away from the target so I can kite to safety, because all hell is going to beak loose as the torps approach their target. And with the Vasteras Swedish VI dd, there is no smoke, all you have is good concealment at 7.1.with a torp and gun range at 10.0 km. My captain is only an 8 on the Vasteras, because there are no Swedish Captains in the Armory, and it's taken me a long time to build out my captain, however, that should not make too much difference at this stage of the game. However, I feel I'm going to be forever getting to be a 14 point captain. But the biggest case here is why use guns when you have torpedoes? I have fairly good luck with torpedoes in my American V Nicholas and my British IV Wakeful dd, but not the Vasteras. Lucky for me (the Nicholas and Wakeful) they both have smoke, but a ship with radar, can see thru the smoke so I don't know how well the smoke protects you in battle when there are a lot of enemy ships around. Perhaps you could shed some light on my questions?... I gave your video a thumbs up and wish you smooth sailing.
Hi Pete, the Maass is a very good hybrid boat allowing you the options to both gunboat and play torpboat depending very much on the situation and opposition. I'm never just randomly shooting targets but being very selective when and how I engage targets. I will try and explain this thought process and my reasoning on this better on stream in the future. I'm usually gunboating on isolated targets when I have options to disengage if it gets too hot. Torping targets whenever I can but not simply relying on them. A simple rule of thumb should be if outnumbered just torp at range. If up against an isolated opponent where you think you can kill it fast without taking too much damage light him up with your guns. Other situations where you have the advantage in numbers but expect to take damage angle to mitigate as much as possible while helping others to focus fire targets down fast and go dark immediately if not in smoke or behind cover. There are simply too many scenarios to cover in a comment here but these are some of the basics. By the way there is a very nice Swedish captain available for completing one of the campaigns, it's called Strong Willed. I hope some of this helps. o7
@@CarbineCarlito Thanks very much for your reply. I did take a lot away via what you wrote me, and it is very much appreciated. I'll be waiting for that next video and your comments, however and in the mean time I will use what you taught me here and perhaps in a few games I'll be using both guns and torps while watching the map to insure I'm more isolated.... Thanks again, and smooth sailing.
why does the MASS have decreased stats vs the GAEDE? is it worth the upgrade?
Also I wonder how many the allo allo will be lost on 😁😁
Does the z-23 got a buff to???
Yes Ägir 262, the whole line gets increased HE penetration.
@@CarbineCarlito If only. No the 105's didn't get a buff to their HE pen at all.
