Hi, I bought his red trailer 5 years ago, (demo). I pull it with 85 flhtc, also red. I've pulled it about 28 thousand miles so far, love it! My hatch also leaks, but Jason it totally dismissive of me on that. Never offered to solve problem. But, I still love it. Gonna put brakes on this year, I found a company that sells custom axles for about 550 bucks.
Thanks for the info! Send me the link to the custom axles.
Thank you for taking the time to give us such a indepth walkthrough of your teardrop sir!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You have that trailer all tweaked out with everything you need on the road. Good work getting it outfitted.
I'm always tweaking and organizing on it. Thanks Rusty!
Wow! That's a great video. Your trip is so fantastic. The trailer that the motorcycle is pulling looks so cool. I'm glad to be a friend of your great channel.
👍👍👍🤝🤝🤝🤙👌
Welcome aboard!
thumbs up shared for a small unit you made it have lots of space love the max fan and the solor set up and smart to carry a boost pack as well stay safe out there
Thanks Drew! You Are Awesome!
Thank y'all so much for your video! I'm about 1/2 done with my TEARDROP build. It's a
4T x 8L x 4W, just for sleeping and storage. Room on both ends for batteries for solar power @ later date. No kitchenette yet but room in design @foot end. Thank you for your INSPIRATION!!
No videos on the your trailer build? You are welcome!
Wow, awesome Teardrop, small, lightweight, & portable. Alot of of bushcrafting @ state or fed parks. The most important thing is the adventure U're having as U travel around. Thx 4 sharing on Utube.
Thanks
Awesome tour of your teardrop. I used to have a teardrop too but pulled it with my vehicle. Got rid of it due to lack of headroom. Now I have a minimate motorcycle camper that I take with me cause I have plenty of headroom inside to stand and sit comfortably on the edge of the bed. I don't yow it with a motorcycle but with a small Subaru suv. Going on a long trip next month first time taking it out of state.
The minimate motorcycle camper are awesome! Have Fun!
This was fun to watch! Very cool to see all the detail whether it's tmi or not. I dont think you mentioned if you change clothes inside the trailer or not. I did not realize you had sold everything in order to do this. My brother did the same and just got a small Airstream to travel in. I gave him that food saver thing you did a video on. 👍 Stay safe out there, Rex.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Actually, I will put my pants legs on and then swing my legs outside the trailer door and as I stand up I pull my pants up, I do the opposite getting in the trailer. It is really hard to put on a pair of jean inside the trailer, but it can be done.
Yeah, selling everything was the only way to finance the first year of this trip.
That Food Saver is awesome!
Thanks for watching and commenting my friend!
Wow...great lifestyle. Keep up the positive attitude....big love 💘from. Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you! Will do!
Wow this is super cool! Thank you for sharing what its like on the inside, I wondered about your feet, too LOL
Thanks Much!
you are one good, honest, pleasant guy. i wish you good luck
Thank You!
No offense intended but you remind me so much of my dad before his stroke. He was born and raised in Fort Worth Texas. He even wore a goatee like yours. It was almost nostalgic watching this video of yours. I can’t wait to watch the rest of your videos! Safe travels.
Oh wow! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice video, keep the shiny side up rubber down and be safe.
Thanks, will do!
We appreciate your video!!
Thanks
Brilliant video rep of Ireland
Thanks Much!
Love this
Thanks!
You’re a good man. God bless you!
I appreciate that, Thanks!
Looks comfy! 😉
It is! Thanks My Friend!
My dad makes those type of trailers. Dave Winslow!!
I know your Dad, he is a friend of mine!
Klasse, viel Spass
Thanks! I Will!
$2000 what a bargain. Great video mate.
Thanks! Merry Christmas!
That cup looks ok for when your just hanging out in side lol
It does! 😀
Accckkkkk!! I will be here after my live stream which airs at 6pm CST
See Ya Soon!
Looks like a great way to go ! Keep up the good work for Diabetes ! Can you explain more on SPOT and possibly on how you edit your videos especially on the road in your trailer ? And....where you are going to be so we can check on you and say hello !
Sorry but I just found all the information under your name !
Thank you for the kind words! Yeah, info on Spot and where I'm at is on my website at www.lonestarrider.com
I usually edit my videos outside of the trailer, picnic tables, Starbucks, McDonalds, Truck Stop, etc. Just not enough room in the trailer to do any editing.
Thanks for watching and commenting my friend!
@@texaslonestarrider can you do a video on how you edit and put them on you tube ?
God Bless. Rubber side down. Look into EBC brakes. Have a 2004 BMW 1200gt. Its a heavy bike and I'm a big boy. Burned through stock brakes way to fast. Very pleased with EBC aftermarket rotors and pads.
Thanks for the tips!
This is amazing how much is cost of living would be interesting thing to try at some point as adventure take time off or work online
Around $2000.00 per month. Will do a video on my budget sometime in the future.
Good teaching video!! I pull a trailer not quite as heavy as yours with a 2007 Heritage. What is your tongue weight? Have you had any problems with drive belts? safe ridin rubber down
75 lbs, no problems with the belt on the Road Glide, just changing out the clutch every year. I now pull the trailer with a 2008 Honda Goldwing
That camper has sure been well used Rex lol!
Unbelievable people steal your cameras, then again doesn’t it only figure.
You sure have that little box tricked out nice 👍🏻
Go 110 😉
Yeah, some people suck, most are awesome! Thanks 👍
Sweet camper. The USB plug you put in is it running on 115v? You could probably wire in an automotive USB and not have power loss when converting ac to dc. Only trying to help. This thing is cool
Thank You!
If u could rig up a cb radio and when u get to a truck stop u can ask drivers to get u a shower card when they go in to pay. Most of them don’t use it and will give u one. They get a free one every time they fill up. Is your bike rigged up to charge your house battery when driving
Yeah, I didn't mention the truck drivers sometime they give me a free shower. Sometimes Pilot or Loves Truck Stops when they see there are no showers credits on my card they give me a free shower. I will be talking about that on my how to stay clean on a road trip.
The Motorcycle does not put out enough power to charge the trailer battery. The solar dose an awesome job keeping the battery charge.
Thanks for your teardrop trailer tour. I subbed to your channel and gave you a 👍. Can you explain the National Parks passport and its benefits to you and if you'd recommend it to other travelers?
Sure thing! Give me some time!
Look into ceramic brakes for your motorcycle. I had pretty good luck with my trailer motorcycle combo.
Thanks for the tip!
Great tip on brakes
I love 💘the left fender.
LOL! Thanks!
Just built a small tear for my Harley probably around 400lb loaded down.
Got some video on it?
MMM salsa! I love your trailer setup! Im dreaming about getting one of these and taking off!
Thanks! Just do it!
I have an aspen deluxe trailer made by trailmaster , but I guess they’re out of business now , I’ve pulled this trailer for over 50000 miles with a victory cross country tour, both were new in 2012 , pulled it through Stephenville in 2015 , the bikes fine ,the trailer needs some work , I wanted to know how yours pulled, stay safe
Very cool, I would like to see some photos of your bike and trailer. I trailer pulls just fine and no problems with the Goldwing. Thanks for stopping by!
I don't know why your going through so many clutches, I have a 2005 Yamaha dragstar 1100 pulling a teardrop trailer and it has never had a clutch replaced, 17 years and still going strong.
Good thing, my goldwing has done much better
I wonder if you would be going through clutches if you were riding a Victory Cross Country?
Don't think so, maybe?
Hola, saludos cordiales.
PURA VIDA.
The trailer does not have brakes on its wheels, I only use the motorcycle's brakes.
No name for the motorcycle yet. Thanks!
Is your trailer considered a home, and if so, does it make it legal to have you weapon inside in most states?
Yes, most but not all states.
You are living my dream. Its great you are raising cash for charity too
Thanks for the kind words 👍 Merry Christmas! 🎅🏻
@@texaslonestarrider you too buddy. Ride safe😁😁🏍🏍
Get the evolution clutch it's a heavy duty clutch
Thanks for the suggestion! Merry Christmas!
@@texaslonestarrider Merry Christmas
Tow trailer need change final ratio at rear wheel, bigger spoke or what ?? Called . Will change mpg
Just installed the trailer hitch & wiring
What do you do with the Glock when you are traveling through states where it is illegal to carry it?
Depends what state I’m in. Otherwise it concealed on me.
Let me jump in with an answer...I was in California recently, I have a Texas concealed carry permit...which is NOT valid in CA...So I keep a Pelican Gun Vault in the car..before I entered Ca .the weapon goes inside, unloaded..it is locked with a pad lock..and attached to the inside of the car at a seat belt anchor point...if stopped by Ca law enforcement with this set up you are legal...
@@fanom1 Thanks! I also believe the bullets and magazines should be stored and locked separately. I also have a gun vault I lock up the gun where it's not legal.
I use the mini-mate camper...a lot easier on the bike...
that a nice trailer, and yes it is. Thanks!
That trailer is no bigger than my 6' x 8' cell was at Stateville. Ain't gonna live in no small pod, no sir. Don't know how you do it.
Get use to it after a year of living it it. Thanks for stopping by!
Can't say enough about the "SPOT" ,,,,,get it if you travel
Yeah, me too!
How does the wind effect trailer?
Slows me down
Any engine upgrades to handle the additional weight?
Just the clutch. Kevlar line clutch.
@@texaslonestarrider nice... I respect what you do. Ride safe my friend!
During the winter months, do you stay more in the southern states?
I just found you and subscribed. I also post motorcycle content. I am up in Canada. I think moto camping would be ok with your trailer. I find tent camping sucks.
Thanks! I'll check your site out!
what is the tongue length of the trailer?
have you checked the tongue weight?
About 3 foot and 70 lbs
@@texaslonestarrider
WOW that is more than double the hitch rating on the bike.
I don't think I will be shortening mine 😁
Lookin at getting a mini mate alot lighter
Yes they are! Thanks!
Hello friends, nice to know you, but I asked about your lifestyle in the trailer, how is your financial condition ..? Do you work for your daily life .. ??
Thanks! Financial it’s tight, $950.00 per month retirement. Some TH-cam money $100.00 every two to three months and database work about $1,000.00 per year. My biggest expense is keeping the motorcycle running.
Congrats on being a 1 percenter of men our age who usually don't have to pee after bed 😉
I have a Pee Bottle Just in case!
pee bottle is good for prostatitis problem guys like us
Yep, it sure is!
Can you explain why you carry a gun?
Sure, but why do you want to know?
For the most part most people are good hearted folks, Being a retired FireFighter/Paramedic I have seen some of the evil out there. Do I feel it makes me safe? No. Of course not. Any more than having a fire extinguisher in your home will guarantee that your house can’t burn down, or that wearing a seat belt guarantees you will survive a car wreck. but a gun, like those other things, gives me a chance I wouldn’t have without it.
@@texaslonestarrider I guess I find it disturbing as I come from part of the world where carrying a gun, especially a handgun is not legal. Plus I’ve never really felt unsafe to the degree of needing a weapon. I guess I’m lucky
@@taurus43100 So far I have not felt unsafe in my travels. I have a license to carry and obey all laws in whatever state I'm in.
The cure involves reducing carbohydrates
Yes it does for type 2. Thanks for the comment!
Are you hauling that great trailer with a garbage Harley??? Why would you waste your money on a Harley???
I did at one time haul it was a Harley, it's now pulled with a 2008 Honda Goldwing. I'm sure I have waisted money on less things.
boarring
Thank you for noticing, your suggestion and watching.
yeah...TRUMP2020! :)
LOL! Yep!
