    My happiest days of my life was living alone in a studio apt with my dog. I owned my Harley n a pick up.
    Loved those simple times. Hope you enjoyed yours, or are still enjoying it. Good for you! :-)

    I love it, I bought a used Harbor Freight trailer ($60) 2 yrs ago and then mounted a used suv cargo container($50) to it and threw my fishing and camping gear in it. I made a trailer hitch for the back of my bike (07 Yamaha 1900 Strataliner) and I took off for a month long trip.. I know the freedom you feel, it was the best vacation I ever had..

    wish I had the courage to try this, but at 67 I'm just too old to start over again! Still need to work so I can afford to retire someday... Sigh..... Do your dogs ride in the trailer when you are traveling? Don't you worry about it getting too hot in there?

    • @PatchesOnassis
      @PatchesOnassis  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It stays pretty cool in there... the windows open with a screen so they got a good view and a great breeze.

    hubby & I both pull trailers for travel, camping but one day I'd like to get a teardrop.

    I'm considering this! I'm 36, single, and have 1 daughter who will be grown soon. I've thought about selling everything I have and just having a bike and camper. I want to travel and spend my winters in warm climate. It sounds better than just sitting in one place , alone , with nothing to do. Having a house and property just to say I have one doesn't mean a damn thing to me. I hate cold weather too I wanna be able to pack up and run from it!

  • @dangcandy1
    @dangcandy1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    was curious about security and such
    do you have places you avoid?
    do you carry any kind of protective weapons?
    and I'm looking into a Moby1 c2 trailer but thats just fyi

    • @PatchesOnassis
      @PatchesOnassis  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Candy Sheppard the only places I avoid are states like Mississippi and such who feel they can discriminate due to ignorance. Haha... But seriously, the road has generally been safer than living in one place. If it doesn't feel right move on... Instinct is the best weapon you can have.

I have also seen trikes use them and Smart cars... which do a great job BTW. Thanks... this is a fine video. Hope the next one has that guitar playing about Teardropping....

    Wow, I’m very impressed! I’ve been searching for videos to see if a sedan can pull a small trailer. I have seen small SUVs, but not sedans, let alone a motorcycle. Also, to hear that you used to have 2 dogs and a cat too! Thank you for sharing compassion and love. True compassion is the caring for others, especially strangers. Sharing knowledge is one aspects of love. Thank you, and all the best to you always!

    Please add tic tack, and blue in your video keywords when you make a video about your camper and bike. I remember those names for some reason and it would help people find your videos when you post with your 2 friends. Great content love the minimalists attitude just so hard to commit to that. Surrounded by so much stuff you just want to be prepared for everything but I have covered myself with so much stuff that when I go to a project the difficulty arises that I can't locate things needed to do the task you hesitate to go buy more or worse you have to scavenge a part off your good item now you have more junk than stuff that works.

      Jaclyn Heyen I can't tell you how many times I have shared your video as a model for youth to follow to get their bank to get that good down payment on their first home so they can live debt free. Sure 15 years is not debt free but it is the fastest way I know to get a QUALITY home and get back off the radar fast. I have a Prius with a micro camper in tow. Finally got the papers I am close to getting all the legal logistics out the way after that I can get myself out there and see a little more before I die. Sounds morbid but we are all dying just some of us at a sooner date than the others.
      A MC insurance for me $75 a year should I find my self single again I will have your set up before it is all said and done. Thanks for sharing and please make more video I really appreciate your prospective.

      +Super Dada It isn't as expensive as you think. Bought the bike new in 2007 and been my only source of transportation since... the trailer new in 2012 and cost under $25,000 for the bike, trailer and all the extras... I get 35-40 mpg and don't pay rent, campsite, electric.

    Very nice!!! I run with a teardrop at about the same weight class (500 lbs give or take) and have no problems pulling with my '15 FLHTCUL. I did add a smaller anti sway bar on mine, 'cause last year I was about 300' behind twin tractor trailers using both lanes, rolling around 70mph, and the turbulance caused my (and my traveling buddy's) real discomfort over the swaying that occurred with the trailer. I got plenty of tongue weight, but the ride was a wild one. No problems since adding the sway bar - but I'm also careful not to repeat the scenario!!!

  • @sparkystours

I also have a small dog and cat but I could never do a litter box in that small of a space. I don't know about your cat but mine is a stinky sucker he would stink me out of the place live in a house and he can stink me out I clean his litter 2 times a day maybe I'm sensitive to cats smells idk but it definitely not something i want to smeel all the time in a small place...lol..he will he staying with my daughter...

      I did travel with a backpack guitar which didn't take up much space but I like the feel and sound of my other guitar. Haha

    TH-cam is not letting me like this video. I click on the button but it does not turn blue. A gray screen pops up across the bottom of the screen saying I liked the video but the button does not change color
