For me ( a Person that lives in Bamberg) it is so interisting every time, to see the city from the view from people from the outside. By the way very nice fotage.
Great Video! The part in the back of the townhall is actually not made out of cement but sandstone which is common in the area and has already been used in the middle ages.
We spent 2021 winter in Garnish and traveled the Romantish Rd, love it with the kids and then Salzburg...what set the scene for the drive was the Bavarian music...I'd highly suggest for your vids!
HEheheheheheheheheee, I am so glad that you finally found your pickle lol lol :). I love the city of Bamberg. I was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany (very close by) while I had served in the US Army. Thanks for sharing your adventures. I have said this before but I will say it again, I so can't wait to get back to Germany, Spaghetti Eis is waiting for me :).
I need this entire experience in my life. Tommy and I have never been to a Christmas market before! I would be buying up all those ornaments too, love the glitter pickles 😂 and having a car on the road is always the best, can’t wait to see your next destination!
This might have been one of my favorite markets! It was so laid back and chill - and of course I finally got my flaming mulled wine!! Bringing all those ornaments back home was really pushing our packing skills to the max but it was totally worth it.
Ashley and Jordan Going Places the wine looked delicious! I was wondering how you got all of those precious babies home! That is skills!! We bought a rug in Turkey and I carried it around as a side bag until Tommy’s parents met us and took it home 😂
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Yep, we didn’t say it was a German tradition. It’s a tradition in Ashley’s family. It is often said to be German (in the US) but we looked it up a while back and know it’s not traditionally German. Still though, it’s a fun family tradition for us. Thanks for watching!
You really look like CARMEN VILLALOBOS. She is a Colombian actor. You must look for her. Now she has short hair but some years ago, with long hair and younger, definitely looks like. Nice video by the way. I follow you now guys. Have fun.
I was in Bamberg about 10 days before your trip there. I was there for several days, and I really enjoyed your video as it brought back wonderful memories, especially now when we cannot travel overseas. Bamberg is probably my favorite place in Germany. I also enjoyed your other Germany videos. It looks like you covered the main sights in Bavaria. Next time in Germany, since you enjoy the Medieval architecture, I would suggest Erfurt and the Harz Mountains. These places do not get a lot of American tourists; Erfurt was behind the Iron Curtain and half of the Harz Mountains were also, but they are fabulous and not so noisy and busy like the heavily touristed areas of Bavaria. I prefer Bambug to Nuremberg also. The crowds in Nuremberg and Rothenburg during Advent make me feel frenzied. Maybe next time I am in Bamberg, I will make a little side trip to Lauscha to see where the glass blowing and glass Christmas tree ornaments cottage industries arose in Germany. All the best with your future endeavors.
Thank you so much for watching and for your tips! We loved Bavaria, Germany and would love to go back to explore the places you recommend. Totally agree, the crowds at some cities during the Christmas Markets were PACKED. We still found ways to enjoy it though. Happy New Year!
Discovered you guys in 2020 when a video popped up in my youtube feed, lol. Ya'll are so charming, and I honestly love the footage. You both do a really great job at mixing yourselves into the video and the actual places and people. Can you tell me who sings the song "winter weather" in this video? I sincerely love it, and I cannot find it. Tony Bennett keeps popping up and while I love him too, just not looking for that! LOL Thank you in advance and thank you for sharing your videos.
Snow, Christmas Market and flaming mug, does it get any better than that? Am super excited to travel vicariously with you all though this part of your journey. Was suppose to be in Bamberg next month as part of our trek but alas that isn't happening (not until next year or 2022 when we go back for the postponed Passionsspiele in Oberammergau). So thanks for the preview of the town. You spent a day there, we were planning on 5. Do you think that's too much time? Stay safe in TX.
It was a wonderful day, Tommye! Glad you’re enjoying our tour through Bavaria. Sorry your trip next month is postponed. The passion play looks like a lot of fun and hope you can make it to Germany again soon. I think 3 full days in Bamberg would allow you to explore the town, enjoy the food and visit the main attractions (churches, palaces, city hall, museums, etc.). With the other 2 days we’d probably do a day trip each if we were basing in Bamberg. There’s Nuremberg, Dinkelsbuhl, Rothenburg and more you could likely do a day trip to. But, I’m assuming you’ve got other days dedicated to some other Bavarian towns.
@@KeepGoingPlaces Thanks. Will take the timing into consideration. Yep, we'll be hitting up a few other places both in Bavaria and heading north to Quedlinburg.

We recently discovered your channel and love your videos. Our vlogging journey is just starting so we're trying to get ideas from established channels. We particularly love your music, do you use a service like Epidemic Sound or do you find other music you can use?
Hi guys, love your videos as always! Just wondering what time of year this was filmed in and did you have any issues with slipping and sliding on the black ice? If not do you have any recommendations for suitable footwear, as I love to travel to cold places and walk a lot exploring places, but do have a fear of slipping over! Ant think of anything worse than falling over and hurting yourself or your camera gear while on holidays!!. Happy travels! I’m planning on staying in Bamberg in December this year hopefully!! Enjoy! Marg
Hi Marg! This was filmed in December 2019. We both wore waterproof winter boots. Ours happen to be from Cole Haan. We never had problems slipping that I recall. They had good tread and went up over our ankles and we were more than comfortable/secure. Hope you have a fabulous trip!!
A wonderful story from the place I was born. I think, we will not have a christmas market in 2020 :-( So you should make a story about the breweries in summer 2021
Great video. Really enjoyed all your commentary. I love to travel and am wondering whats the best way to learn how to produce travel videos. What equipment do you reccommend? I am looking to pay someone to help me do this and let me know if you have any friends looking to earn some extra dollars.
Thank you, we’re glad you’re enjoying our travel videos 😊 You can learn a ton about video editing by studying TH-cam videos from other creators. That’s how we got started with the actual editing. It takes time and practice to get comfortable producing your actual footage, especially while filming in public surrounded by crowds much of the time. It’s all worth it to capture your best moments. For video editing, we use Adobe Premiere Pro plus Adobe Audition (for clean audio). For filming gear, we recommend a good DSLR or Mirrorless video camera with a decent mic to pick up your voice well and block wind noise. We also use a gimbal while filming which gives you great stabilization, but it’s definitely more difficult to film with one. We also recommend a GoPro for rainy weather, active experiences (hiking, road trips, etc) and underwater filming (I.e. swimming and snorkeling). Also, our new iPhones do a great job! We personally don’t know anyone who provides editing services so cannot recommend anyone. We recommend learning to do it yourself from filming, editing and publishing. It’ll give you a better grasp and good feedback loop to continuously improve your filming and storyline. Hope this helps!
