When first heard this song in mind it was being sung from the point of view of Lilith to Eve after she was kicked out of Eden. That part ''The innocent dies screaming, honey ask me I should know'' is dead give way imo since Lilith is known for k*illing babies.

Started out with Madonna, my favorite artist of all time, Like a Prayer being my favorite song and video of hers and of course album. Didn't expect it. Madonna is a legend with how she did Pepsi and the Like a Prayer video. Deep meaning and risky. Funny how she's the most successful female music artist of ALL time. The album Like a Player did fantastic too. People in 1989 were just stuck in the head and didn't understand the meaning. Meaning is deep is video is beautiful. And like Hozier, I love the Blues too. Always have.

hmm i guess i read "from eden" as more about the love interest's struggles with their trauma and his patience with that, hoping they can come through it and be together but appreciating that need/process. and then hopefully killing the other man is metaphorical but like... he's probably abusive? i'm not totally sure where the eden-ness comes into that but maybe he feels like a villain/tempter just even waiting. or maybe i am reading into it based on that predatory queer woman fear that this straight guy might not feel when waiting for a love interest oops

Most successful female in music history? That's Madonna, yeah. Guiness Book of World Records. And it was only like 3 mins. Hope you're okay. Hozier is a better singer but Like a Prayer, is a masterpiece nothing can beat. I love Hozier too, Nina cried Power is one of the best written song ever. Voice of haunted, beautiful magic. But Madonna opened the door for songs and videos that were considered controversial, showing that even contraversy sells well if it's done right. Hozier has a lane no one else has. One of the most unique artists for many reasons.
It took you 17 minutes to get to the point. What a long drawn out video. Maybe get to the point quicker and give more info about the song.
