Could try basil in your tunnel? I only grow the cinnamon basil and I only grow it in the tunnel - it makes it a lot taller and good quality. Great video thanks and I love your channel 💕
Great info! Another dahlia question - my cafe au laits didn't grow all around. One side would be stunted. Did you experience this? Do you know anything about this? Thank you!
Cafe au Lait is notorious for being difficult. Having all your blooms perfect is never a goal. Most of us dahlia growers don't grow cafe au lait any more for that reason - unless the grower is a seller of tubers, since the tubers always sell. Labrynth is a really good replacement for Cafe au Lait.
@@stacietaber8932 If your tuber was weak when you planted it, flowers might not happen, BUT, the tuber can produce healthy tubers for the following year. I have planted a weak tuber specifically knowing I will not get flowers but will get more tubers for the following year. I grow 160 dahlias, so I can sacrifice a spot or two for this practice of multiplying tubers, especially since I like to have a minimum number of each flowering dahlia I grow for bouquets.
Thank you Christina. I dug my Dahlia’s yesterday and am letting them cure in the garage. I think they need about two or three days before I start to store them? 🎃🍁🍂💚🙃
I would really keep an eye on them, especially if you washed the dirt off. They are like carrots and will get dried out rather quickly if they are in warmer temps (it obviously depends how cool your garage is). And if they are on concrete, that is also dehydrating. I dig, wash, divide and store (Saran wrap) in the same day ideally. They only dry long enough so they aren’t visibly wet and the cuts from dividing get a chance to dry a bit.!
How long you wait is really determined on the humidity in your air. I live in a humid climate so I can get away with 2 days uncovered, more if I toss a drop sheet over top. Always at least a minimum of one day after washing, keeping the stem pointing down to let it drain out. After that I divide, spray with a 4:1 water/foodgrade hydrogen peroxide solution to prevent mold, leave one day for the cuts to cure and dry, then store. I have been doing this for 6 years. I store in wood chips because, as I said, I am in a humid climate and the wood won't dry out and pull from the tubers. If I was in a dryer climate I would still store in wood chips but use closed totes rather than paper bags per variety.
I would talk to your local chamber or city - usually things like that are run thru those organizations because it can go under their insurance because it is a town event. Then it is just lining up the vendors to include!
Hey Christina, I live very close to you. If you ever need to purchase some flowers at a decent price for an order etc. LMK. I grow Lisianthus, snaps, bupleurum, zinnias, yarrow and some others. Growing statice for the first time this year. If you are ever in a pinch for flowers HMU
So glad to hear you put in a baptisia, you will love it ❤
I’m a first year dahlia grower and I have loved learning from you. I grow for fun and to give flowers away. Thank you!
Wonderful video, as usual! Thanks so much, Kristina!
Baptisia is a gorgeous foliage. The plant can get quite large so leave plenty of room for growth. Great video!
You are a fantastic, effective teacher.
Thank you! 😃
Thank you. Your information was helpful. I am impressed by your work ethic and your organization.
Glad it was helpful!

Mine didn't even bloom this year. I'm so sad. I hope my tubers are ok

I do not sorry!
@@EvelynM-vlogs I'll be digging this week so it will be nice to see a lot of tubers

Watch them, do not let them get do dry: them they start to get soft and wrinkly. 👍

Yes to all the comments below!
Hi! Not sure if it's just me but there is something weird about the audio again
Does your bupleurum overwinter?
Have not tried that yet
I will like to start a farmer's market in my area. Can you please give me information on how to go about that?

Thank u for the help with Dahlias! Btw your sound is odd again.
You need some music to characterize your channel!
