    Was a shame to here that you broke down after all the hard work that was put into doing this but you will sort it and be out there somewhere enjoying the van fingers crossed

    Oh my god what an absolute nightmare! I can’t believe everything you had to go through & well done for remaining so cool and calm. That was a real drama and I was literally thinking… no what’s going to happen next! Great episode but glad you got sorted in the end

      I know right, not quite the adventure I was hoping but what can you do but try and deal with it best you can. Next drama is getting the van fixed 😬

    Never rains pal as they say! What an absolute nightmare!
    It really shouldn’t be that difficult should it! oi RAC! Van breaks down, recover it and take it home/garage!

      Yes exactly, that’s what I thought. It should have been simple but the RAC didn’t seem to communicate even within their own departments & it looks as though they subcontract a lot of work outside of the company. Since they sold to a big investment company in 2015, they have gone downhill IMHO.

    Wow, unbelievable that, glad you’ve exposed the r.a.c’s terrible customer service though. It will make a lot of people think twice before using them. Hope the vans back on the road real soon 👍🏻

      Yes it's quite shocking how I was treated as a customer. Hoping the van will be back on the road soon.

    Unfortunately most breakdown companies like the AA and RAC have to use the recovery relay method as hgv drivers have tacos monnitoring how long they drive (uk law to prevent accidents from fatigue) If they go further than there 30 mile radius they might not be able to recover other vehicles in that shift i think the legal limit is 150 miles of driving every 12-24 hours but I dont know exactly. Tbh they have their own fleet on flatbeds. Would make sense if they just had there own fleet of cheap loan cars they stick on the flatbed, drive out to you and give you the loan car. That takes half the issues out the equation.

      That explains why they use the relay method then so they can keep working thier shift to get more recoveries in. I thought that was only used for long distance & I didn’t consider 90 miles to be long distance but if the radius is 30 miles this explains it. Unfortunately though their customer service was and still is terrible and they handled it extremely poorly, even after the fact refusing to accept responsibility for my damaged van was what has really annoyed me!       Nightmare. Did you get penalised for overstaying in the services 🅿️? Usually you’re only allowed to stay for a couple of hours!
