Sir I just wanted to say I am NOT mechanically inclined. My drive belt broke on my mower and I watched your video and changed it with no problem. Saved me a ton of money taking it to a shop. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. I just did this job today. I used a paint stirring stick to push the belts above the drive motor pulleys. It's soft enough not to cut the belt, and it bends enough to get over the pulleys.
I removed everything you said, and followed you're advice. 25 minutes and up and running. Not sure why the old and negative comments. Anyway thanks a bunch.👍
Thanks for the video. Just changed mine last night after watching. My drive belt came off and then broke as a result of the fan fins above the pumps being bent up and interfering with the belt. I assume a stick was thrown up there and messed up some of the fins. I heated up each fin with a heat gun and bent the fins back down before putting the new belt on. Worked like a charm.
If the front of the Hustler 42" Raptor is lifted up as high as it will safely go...... is there enough clearance to change the drive belt? Instead of faffing around under the back of the mower on the ground?
I found 2 nuts and a mounting bolt missing from the transmission! I was lucky it did not fall off the machine. Have replaced all the hardware bolts, installed nylock nuts and spring washers.
Check your local napa dealer have them to match up the belt,i had the same problem, they matched it up,i think its a 50x 1/2,they measure it,was rolling the same day
changed the belt went 10 yards the belt came off! think one or more of the pulley fins is bent and hits the belt, so now I have to figure out how to change both pulleys on top of the transmission
had the same thing happen to me I found that the hydro unit had a bolt missing that caused the unit to drop and so everything was out of alignment after i replaced the missing bolt and nut everything worked great
Excellent how to Video. I just bought a used (29.0 hrs) raptor at a local dealer and in less than 3 hrs use has blown the belt twice. There is something seriously flawed about this design.
you can doe this with out dropping the deck belt you just need to feed the new belt around the inside of deck belt by hand and then it will be above the deck belt i did this because i did not want to deal with the deck belt

with the new drive belt the hustler probable run like new again 7mph
You are making more work than need to I replace the drive belt with strength and needle pliers and feel with hands
do tell. Id like to do it with strength and needle pliers as well. Please share method, thanks

Turn belt sideways to get it on the transaxle pulley it's a tight fit. Fan can cause belt throwing problem count on it
Tommy Jackson fan? Can you explain? Mine drops a belt whenever I lower the deck before running the blades. Makes me insane.

trying to replace drive belt ( hustler 54") belts break or come off pulleys then you try to drive foreword . fans are not touching . any ideas ?
found two broken bolts on the cross member that from gear box to gear box .

try a mower shop keep the small man working mistakes could cost ya being cheap in the long run

dan did not happen the drive belt has to be around the top v pulley
you guess its the clutch ??? keep the small guys employed one wrong move cost ya hundreds
