Mine has a Kohler motor, just did the same thing but there’s some type of sensor hooked under the belt, tore those damn wires off. Have to figure out what that is to fix it of course.

Same thing happend to me, I got a new belt and then it kept jumping off then I realized the pully that attached to the tensioner pully had a broken lip so apparently they belt couldn't stay on. But I wanted to say also be aware a common issue on these raptor sd mowers there are multiple brackets that will break on the mower and everything will start to move too much and throw the belt . They made a repair kit with thicker brackets and reinforcements for multiple spots to fix the issue. The new raptor xd is the new raptor sd and they are made way thicker frame and all and better design .
+1 on the hydro bracket kit and get the replacement transaxle crossbrace while you're at it if it already hasn't been upgraded. The crossbrace broke on my Hustler and then the flimsy trans brackets gave way. Putting the thrown belt back in place was a walk in the park after replacing all those brackets. You have to practically be a contortionist to reach some of the backer nuts! Pleased with the finished product though. The new brackets are seriously beefy and come with upgraded hardware.
You said nothing about going over the deck pulley only shooting it up through the gold piece. How did you get it around the back pulley without removing the deck belt
@@SomethingonSodom there is no way to loop it around the deck belt pulley without removing the deck belt. You need to remove the deck spring first to loosen the deck belt.
@@johnpetreshock8263 are 3:09 I explain it. Basically you just push the entire belt through that little window and open the belt up. Pass it over the hydros and route it. Then pull the spring back to tension it. I never touched the deck belt.
@@SomethingonSodom but how did you get it to the back side of the drive pulley without going around the whole drive shaft and pullys the bottom. I did this exactly and there is no way to loop the actual drive pully once the belt is "opened up" after wedging it up there
Is there a trick for getting the belt around the idler pulley? I took the spring off but there isn't enough movement to get the belt to go around that pulley.
Thankfully - Hustler improved the design by revising to "cogless" style. I just ordered the new style. I expect it will last longer than my first two (those were original style with cogs/notches). Though, honestly I have only ever had trouble when putting the mower in a precarious position. Never any trouble mowing on flat or relatively ground.

Brother this video got me out of a jam ty so much for your content. My mower threw off the drive belt mowin my mile long trail to the lake. And I was stranded and this video showed me the correct belt route. I hauled my 3ton and my tools down the mile long trail and got er done. Thanks again

I must be thinking wrong but first how did you get the belt around the main drive shaft pulley, the shaft is totally in the way. And second each of the pulleys (with the blades like) are to tight to the upper frame for me to slide the between that location. Help please. Thanks, Steve
@@SomethingonSodom the way this can be done is so simple it’s nuts. First disconnect the battery, Second remove one end of the deck belt tensioner spring. Third remove the deck belt from the main engine pulley. Fourth loosen the rear transmissions nuts and bolts on both sides of each transmissions. ( DO NOT REMOVE THE NUT AND BOLT / JUST UNTHREAD THEM TO THE END OF THE BOLT) Fifth, now the transmissions are lowered enough for the belt to slide in to each transmission pulley. Sixth install drive as shown in Hustles Parts Manual. Now retighten the transmission bolts (both sides) put the deck belt back on and reinstall the tension spring for the deck belt and reconnect the battery and you’re done. I forgot to mention to remove the drive belt tension spring, remove it as you go. Steve

I didnt take the deck belt off the pulley thats why I didnt tell you. I just slid the drive belt up and opened it up at top. cought both hydros and pulled the spring. It wasnt too bad. Thanks.

@@SomethingonSodom yes sir kawasaki motor. My brain hurts. No way I was able to route it behind that pulley. All I ended up doing is taking the blade spring off. To loosen the rear belt pulley. And route the drive belt around. Took me 20mins total. My next project is to replace the 3 blades.
They must have changed something because half the people commenting have gotten it and the other half say it can't be done. I looked at mine again and it works just fine. I'm going to post another video in a couple of weeks
@@SomethingonSodom All those pulleys are attached to the driveshaft coming down from the Kawasaki engine and you cannot push the belt over the top of the drive pulley because the shaft is in the way. I did hear you say that you made sure the deck belt was attached correctly in the video after watching it 15 times and trying it about 10 times on my own mower. I'm going to go take my deck belt off and then see if i can get the transmission belt on by going over the pulleys and then up through that space.

I took the mower deck belt off the back pulley, took the spring off the tension arm and then opened up the drive belt and pushed it up around the pulleys and the clutch stop. Over the hydro pulleys and then pulled them down onto them, then put my hand behind the main pulley and pushed the belt forward and got it around the idler. Needle nose to hook the spring back on and done.

I think this video only works with kawi. I didn't realize the motors were different. There should be a wiring diagram somewhere

You just shoot it up and around the top hydro pulleys. It's all above that bottom deck belt.

Mine lasted 5 years and I’ve beat the mess out of my mower. Just picked up the improved belt. Hope it last longer

dont know bout your year model but mine is an 18' and the tensioner pully arm has to come off in order to get it installed
I'll check my model year but mine was straight forward. Just slid the belt up there and opened it up . It was fairly simple.

I took my deck belt loose to fit the belt. Put a new belt on then back on twice today. Turns out my mounts are broken.

Can you get an easy out in to remove the bolt ? Otherwise you'll have to try and drill it out and chase the threads.

This only works on the kawasaki from what I understand. The kawasaki motors it should fit on no issues.
