  • UPDATE This does NOT work for the 8H- transmitters, once I figure that out, I will make a new video.
    For Coaching: www.arielwarren.com/diabetes
    For Questions: ariel@hapibody.com
    WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS
    1. Use the sensor as usual for the 10 days, save the code.
    2. After the 10 days pass, ‘start sensor’ (with old sensor), don't enter a code.
    3. Let the warm-up go until Dexcom stops you and says no restarts.
    4. ‘Stop sensor’.
    4. ‘New sensor’ again, and skip the code again.
    5. Wait exactly 15 minutes. Use a timer.
    6. ‘Stop sensor’, then ‘start sensor’ one more time, but use the code this time.
    7. Now it should work for another full 10 days.

This reset worked great a few times at end of 2019. Dexcom clearly watched your instruction video and chose to shut this helpful hint down to maximize profits and ensure the 10 day life was not extendable. Built in obsolescence adds millions to the bottom line! Unfortunate. Thanks for your great instruction videos, clear and concise.

I've successfully used the "popping out the transmitter" trick with an 8G. Stop the session or let it expire, pop out the transmitter, wait 30 minutes, start a new session using the same code, pop the transmitter back in, begin the warmup. Pretty simple. My next transmitter is going to be an 8J, hopefully it will work for that one, too.

with the 80 and 81 transmitters this method does work. With 8G transmitters this way does not work. Folks either have to pop out the transmitter using a test strip or by disabling the bluetooth on the phone for just over 2 hours.

@@lh5192 I have not personally tried this method yet, but some are disabling their bluetooth for 2hrs 20 minutes. They had to move their receiver out of range during this. Since tandem pumps connect to bluetooth I dont know the steps for that yet. I dont use tandem pumps yet.

I was able to do this up until a few weeks ago, when a received a new set of sensors and transmitters. I believe Dexcom closed the hack. The only reason everyone is trying to do this is because this system is way too expensive. Another company will come along and find a better and lower cost way to do this.

I don't think this is a good idea for me since most of the sensors I have used don't even last 10 days. I just put one in this morning and it has been giving me crazy readings all day including the 3 dashes. Loved the G5. It would stick well for 3 or more weeks and stayed accurate.

I keep trying and can not get it to restart. It would be nice if it would. I can not get my sensors when I need them. I have Medicare advantage and Dexcom tells me I have to wait for the last one to only have 7 days left. Then it takes 10 to 12 days to arrive. I need help.
