The subliminal Palette is one of the best Mothership palette she ever made ..I tried all my mothership this past week and I couldn't believe how gorgeous the Subliminal palette is.. the way the colors blends beautifully and those mattes in there just like you said, are the best mattes in all her palette.. I don't know why it doesn't get much love.. it is my second fave .. cos Bronze Palette screams warm tones to me and I love those firing tones..
The Subliminal palette is genuinely such an underrated palette. It is incredibly well thought through and fantastically versatile, the kind of palette you can use every day for work and immediately transform your look with one or two of those special shades. A lot of her palettes are very intimidating when it comes to the colour scheme and placements, but subliminal is just so easy and seamless!

I would kill for a build your own palette option. Can you imagine if the packaging was magnetic and every single one of these shades plus some more were available to be picked freely? That would be a dream come true.

Subliminal is the first palette I bought from PMG and have zero regrets. I can pull off that blue especially if I am wearing jeans, I wore that blue the other day when we went to the movies and my husband was intrigued, I got so many compliments. I really love all of her palettes each has something to offer and it is a like a piece of jewelry that has its own time, it's own beauty. Yes they are expensive but they are worth it.
@@TaniaBWells I just got Fleur Fantasia quad from ebay for roughly 40$. If you manage to get your hands on it you will love it, it is absolutely stunning, vibrant, yet a bit understated light pink violet tones. It should go perfect with Divine Rose 1. Mentioning is as just like you I was feeling Divine rose 1 was missing something, and these shades complement it perfectly.
I would love to see some more tutorials using the mothership palettes. My most reached for palette is probably Sublime because I find it’s a good color story for my fair/light complexion and strawberry blond hair but I’ve dipped into the Huetopian dream palette a few times this summer and the Subliminal for nights out in the wintertime. I’ve never pulled off the blue or the green but I’d like to try. I find the dark colors a bit intimidating especially on pale skin! Moonlit Seduction looks gorgeous.
I think subliminal and the new moonlit seduction are both underrated. They are my most used and daily/all occasion friendly. I definitely think the name moonlit absolutely reflects the looks you get from that palette. Agree with just about everything you said. I skipped the all metallic mothership 5 also.
I was surprised to see so many people think the new Palette was not great.. I am beyond excited to see those colors and be able to wear every single shadow from it!!
I agree about the Divine Rose 1 - the golden shades don't fit in with the theme/ color story! A rosegold 'special shade' in there would have been lovely.
The hot pink in Divine Rose 2 looks beau-ti-ful in the crease! No, it's not a matte, but it looks great regardless! That's how I use it and sometimes mix it with the peachy matte color.
I really love the mother ship ten as well. But I also love the Devine rose ,one and two. I wish she put the name of the pallet on the back so I did t have to go through each, and every one to find the one I'm needing that day,but... stunning! Love them all!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I really loved this video! The only one I would move up is Mothership I. I love using that with X, Moonlight Seduction. I get really pretty looks! I do agree that those yellow and orange golds are not my thing either. Sometimes I’ll use a tiny bit in my inner corner, but that is about i.

I just ordered a trio before the sale "ends"😅 - I got 1, 5, and 9 (the blue one, bronze, and huetpean dream. With the bundle and the sale, I paid for 2 and got one free. Before that, I only had Midnight Sun because (in my opinion) it's the most wearable. I would like the one with blitz green eventually, but if she sells that color as a single. Yessss😮

Tania, did you know that in Mothership X, the formula of the 4 special shades has been changed? Usually they were baked, but now they are 'just' like her other shadows. A fellow youtuber Mariam A spoke about it - so interesting what she had to say! Pat may have wanted to cut costs, hence the change in formula. That did lead to being more binder in the shadow, so they are grittier than special shades from previous palettes. You should check Mariam A's video out! She is really knowledgable. Her first video on the moonlight seduction is where she spoke about this.

Now that includes taxes and mayhap it has to do with the exchange rate as well, but still, it's quite a steep change. Mariam A mentioned that the change in formula may has to do with the ingredients and/ or process of baking of the astral/blitz/vr shades having become more expensive. And perhaps if PM would put those costs into the palette, they may lose customers, so they just changed the baked formula.
i love the new moonlit seduction it is cool toned and every color works on me except the golden color looks a bit warm I cant wear golds either but i can use all the shades minus one i can use combined with something else but its a gorgeous pallet

Ok so PM 10 has surprised me with its wearability. I did not expect to love it so much. Your tutorial made a big difference in how I have used it on the every day. Also I need to revisit some of the other palates you reviewed. Thank you.
Hm.. I think it depend a lot on your skintone. Keeping the color “contained” and not too blown out may help with that. When it goes too low under your eyes or it is not paired with a color that compliments it, it could end up looking a bit “rashy”
I only have 2 motherships, divine rose 1 was my first palette and i love it but then i bought midnight sun and that one is my fave, I'm definitely picking up moonlit seduction was it goes on sale
Bronze seduction was my 2nd mothership & i love her so much she’s my most used but that hard pan drives me nuts. I knew the risk I’d possibly get a good one or a bad one some ppl get lucky which is why i held off literally until recently bcuz i was bored with this years makeup. Idk how to fix it but that rusty pewter is so beautiful i just can’t get it on my eyes! 🤣😣 so sad & allure mag rates it so high. Huetopian was my first she’ll always be special to me however Moonlit seduction has taken #1 spot cuz i feel like it can be a year round pallet and every single color is a dream on the eyes.
I can't choose a favorite, I have mothership 1,3,5,8 and 9... and each one has something that makes me love it 😊 And because I want to use all the shades( not at once), the golds that didn't impress you either... use it all over the lids when I go for groceries 😅🤣
I recieved mothership x for my birthday and I love love love it. The special shades are to die for. They do have some fallout but the looks that you can create are so worth it. Great ranking video I loved watching this.
Hey Tania! I would love to see you do a tutorial video featuring Subliminal. A 3 looks, 1 palette would be great, but I won't be greedy... I have dark brown eyes as well and love the deep-ish blue look you have on in this vid. I am having trouble finding a way to find a way to use the blue in a similarly intense way without looking clown-ish, ya know? I hope you are feeling better btw. Seemingly everyone up here in Illinois has the same lingering cough/cold as you and your family.
I do think those deep blues can be a bit more difficult to work with. Usually containing the color only on the mobile lid helps! I am Planning to do more looks with all the Pat McGrath palettes!

I own Motherships 1-2-3-5 & 6. I'm the odd man out, as I prefer PM's mattes and simmers, and many of the metallics. The "Special Shades" are truly breathtaking; but for me, most are far too textured, chunky or glittery. As stunning as they are, I don't find them practical or very flattering on more mature eyelids.
@@TaniaBWells I agree, which is why I haven't picked up any more MotherShips since #6. I lean towards Natasha because her shimmers are softer and more flattering on older eyes.
I’m crazy picky with golds. They can’t be too warm or overly yellow, defiantly don’t like orange golds. I prefer a pale cooler gold, like mothership 1 . My most used mothership is probably Midnight sun, it’s just so wearable and that topper is the best topper ever, I’d possibly the palette for that shade alone….lol !! I love the copper/terracotta shades for fall the gold isn’t my fav but it works really well with the copper and purple, I can understand why it’s included.
Ahhh, I was so dissapointed about the green color in the subliminal palette. I have very pale skin, and on me it doesn't turn up green at all. It looks all ashy gray/black very dark :( I've tried using the intensifier but it makes no difference.
I used the lip liner from Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude with a bit of the westman atelier lip palette in Nude ( i thjnk that’s the name.. the one that has 4 nude shades in it!
I have 3 Mothership pallets, which I believe are Pats very best ones by far… Mothership 1 Subliminal 💙 Mothership 5 Bronze Seduction 🤎 Mothership 10 Moonlite Seduction 💓 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Moonlit Seduction is my favorite and I also have all of them but Decadence. The special shades are still super high shine but so much smoother than many of the blitz astrals of the past (still love them though). I love the new formulation.
Aw i ended up selling my subliminal because the light toupe brown color doesnt even show up on my skin it ends up blending out translucent on my skin tone. the blue looks gray grungy on my paler skin its so sad and the pretty purple topper isnt purple on me but shows up gray and the lilac matte shows up also gray on my skin :(
They truly are gorgeous palettes, but for the exception of your favorite one, there's always two or three shades in it that I would never use, so I've never purchased one of her pallets before. It just wouldn't be worth it to me. But your number one palette is absolutely stunning.
I don't know, I can't find a big palette from Pat in wich one I like all the shades, there's everytime a colour that I really don't like, the Blue, the violet, or the Red... I think I 'll wait for something different
I can not get to even like Pat Macgrath Mothership palettes. I got 5 of them but they are messy and they do not last long and no matter what I do to primer my eyes, they ended making me look like a racoon. Any advice? I will end giving them away or to the trash as I don give what I do not like 😢😮 help if you know the secret to have the perfection the influencers says. My favorites are Natasha denona ... even I like more Morphe, Oden eyes above Pat McGrath

Loved your ranking and thoughts on these palettes.🥰 Bronze Seduction was my first mothership too, and it's still my favourite. (Then Huetopian, then Midnight sun). I wear so much colour, so the green from sublime and the violet from subversive are totally my vibe (but I don't own those two🤷🏻♀️)...but I'm more scared of the cool tones and smokey looks that you do so well!💗😘 So interesting. Hm.. I think it depend a lot on your skintone. Keeping the color “contained” and not too blown out may help with that. When it goes too low under your eyes or it is not paired with a color that compliments it, it could end up looking a bit “rashy”
I only have 2 motherships, divine rose 1 was my first palette and i love it but then i bought midnight sun and that one is my fave, I'm definitely picking up moonlit seduction was it goes on sale

Bronze seduction was my 2nd mothership & i love her so much she’s my most used but that hard pan drives me nuts. I knew the risk I’d possibly get a good one or a bad one some ppl get lucky which is why i held off literally until recently bcuz i was bored with this years makeup. Idk how to fix it but that rusty pewter is so beautiful i just can’t get it on my eyes! 🤣😣 so sad & allure mag rates it so high. Huetopian was my first she’ll always be special to me however Moonlit seduction has taken #1 spot cuz i feel like it can be a year round pallet and every single color is a dream on the eyes.
I can't choose a favorite, I have mothership 1,3,5,8 and 9... and each one has something that makes me love it 😊
And because I want to use all the shades( not at once), the golds that didn't impress you either... use it all over the lids when I go for groceries 😅🤣
My favorite palette is divine rose II. Bronze seduction sublime n huetopian dream, th rest I don't reach for

I have dark brown eyes as well and love the deep-ish blue look you have on in this vid. I am having trouble finding a way to find a way to use the blue in a similarly intense way without looking clown-ish, ya know?

@@TaniaBWells Thanks so much for the tip! I experimented on myself (and my 6-year-old niece who was absolutely thrilled :)) and the look turned out much more sophisticated without reducing the color's impact. I've also been trying this technique with other vibrant colors.

I own Motherships 1-2-3-5 & 6. I'm the odd man out, as I prefer PM's mattes and simmers, and many of the metallics. The "Special Shades" are truly breathtaking; but for me, most are far too textured, chunky or glittery. As stunning as they are, I don't find them practical or very flattering on more mature eyelids.
I can see that! I think they are super textured and if i were to suggest a palette for mature eyes it would probably not be a pat McGrath one!
@@TaniaBWells I agree, which is why I haven't picked up any more MotherShips since #6. I lean towards Natasha because her shimmers are softer and more flattering on older eyes.
I’m crazy picky with golds. They can’t be too warm or overly yellow, defiantly don’t like orange golds. I prefer a pale cooler gold, like mothership 1 .
My most used mothership is probably Midnight sun, it’s just so wearable and that topper is the best topper ever, I’d possibly the palette for that shade alone….lol !! I love the copper/terracotta shades for fall the gold isn’t my fav but it works really well with the copper and purple, I can understand why it’s included.
Same.. golds I am so picky with!! I also like those cool tone golds!

Ahhh, I was so dissapointed about the green color in the subliminal palette. I have very pale skin, and on me it doesn't turn up green at all. It looks all ashy gray/black very dark :( I've tried using the intensifier but it makes no difference.
I have a neutral skin tone so can wear anything on the warm to cool spectrum.

Moonlit Seduction is my favorite and I also have all of them but Decadence. The special shades are still super high shine but so much smoother than many of the blitz astrals of the past (still love them though). I love the new formulation.

Aw i ended up selling my subliminal because the light toupe brown color doesnt even show up on my skin it ends up blending out translucent on my skin tone. the blue looks gray grungy on my paler skin its so sad and the pretty purple topper isnt purple on me but shows up gray and the lilac matte shows up also gray on my skin :(
It probably wasn’t working well with your skin tone!!! Maybe a less cooler color story!

They truly are gorgeous palettes, but for the exception of your favorite one, there's always two or three shades in it that I would never use, so I've never purchased one of her pallets before. It just wouldn't be worth it to me.
But your number one palette is absolutely stunning.

I can not get to even like Pat Macgrath Mothership palettes. I got 5 of them but they are messy and they do not last long and no matter what I do to primer my eyes, they ended making me look like a racoon. Any advice? I will end giving them away or to the trash as I don give what I do not like 😢😮 help if you know the secret to have the perfection the influencers says. My favorites are Natasha denona ... even I like more Morphe, Oden eyes above Pat McGrath
