It didn’t deserve GOTY. In fact I say Justice has been served on a silver platter in these streets. The story was flawed and so was the character development. I hope Insomniac learns from this and focuses on delivering a compelling story and leave out all the agenda based garbage that clearly got in the way of this game being as great as it should have been.

game was rushed out the door like motherfucker, story was mid with minimal time with the black suit and Venom had only 1h worth of cutscenes, I'm really not surprised.
In the end sm2 wasn't good enough to win an award, so it got what it deserved, which is nothing.

RE 4 makes sense because it was a remake with less obligation to pick it unless if it was for a specific category which is a shame because it is probably the best version of that RE engine and it’s gameplay is engaging as hell but Spider-Man 2 just sucked. I mean it made no substantial improvements aside from web swinging and it’s story was probably the worst Spider-Man story I’ve ever seen outside TASM 2
Completely agree, I loved RE4 remake and don’t care too much that the game didn’t get any awards I am still playing tf out of it lmao. Spider-Man on the other hand I found to be underwhelming and I prob won’t even do another play through, which is something I always do for games I buy.

Hideo and Jordan Peele teaming on a new Horror game, Sega remaking old classics, BLADE GAME, Big Walk and Kemuri looks fun, and DBD spin-off game looks clean too. Also DB BUDOKAI and GOW DLC and BLACK MYTH WUKONG finally coming.

Went in to this year thinking spider-man would easily sweep goty, so it's a bit of a shame that didn't end up getting anything. Props to everyone who worked on it though, I just don't think anyone expected BG3 to drop out of nowhere, be in such a niche category that you wouldn't expect people to really pay attention to, yet win people over so completely once they picked it up for themselves. It's a true shame you're over open world games, as it's probably the best one released since... god knows. Thoroughly deserved.

Well to be honest the story wasn't very good at all, they ripped off web of shadows, pointlessly killed off members of Spider-Mans rouge gallery, and turned Venom into a generic doomsday villan, and no replacing Harry Osborn with Eddie Brock as his host did not make him anymore interesting especially when it was already done to death in the Ultimate Spider cartoon.

Because, in reality, its a VERY average game that does absolutely nothing worth any awards. Very lazy story, very lazy boss designs, no meaningful moments, no character, narrative, gameplay evolution, very poorly written and executed villains, no risks taken whatsoever, does absolutely nothing new for the industry, just has pretty good traversal and graphics.

I said this over 3 years ago that spiderman 2 should've been co op, idek why tf they didn't think of having couch coop peter and miles. That would've made the game hundred times better.
