Hey Todd, I love the videos and the quality of what you sell online. I have a question, do y’all have a video online or in your online training academy of how to DIY install solar systems? I know every system is different but if yall have a video on how to install the systems that would be awesome from pros like yourself

Hi Todd, you are right about it depends. My cutoff switch does disconnect the converter but does not stop the current flow from my solar panel to the house battery. I like that as it acts as a trickle charge while I’m winterized

It's easy to tell if your RV is charging the batteries with the disconnect in the off position. Put a voltmeter on the battery. If the voltage doesn't rise to above 13 volts then your batteries are not going to charge with the disconnect in the off position. If the voltage is above 13v then it will.

It's my understanding, that when you reinstall the castle nut, you need to torque it to 50 ft lb before backing it off??

My battery disconnect on a Forest River Ibex disconnects all DC loads including the tongue jack. It also disconnects the connection to the DC panel and therefore the converter too. It does NOT disconnect from my solar charge controller, which is wired directly to the battery (bypassing the disconnect) from the factory.

My question is does one need a big beard to fix rvs? 😂

If the inverters are powered off, but battery disconnect is still connected will the solar controler still charge the batteries assuming you have sun.

Your solar may still charge your batteries.

True. It all depends on how the RV is wired, and they aren't all consistent. Turning our battery disconnect off would not disconnect the batteries from our solar charge controllers.

@@calledtojourney Same here my solar will continue to charge the batteries with the battery discount switch in the off position. Solar panels and solar charger is wired directly to the batteries.

The switch controls the charging of the vehicle battery not house batteries... 😮
