Finally someone talked about it. The motion the lightsabers do doesnt leave that classic white blur and it looks like a faded version of the respective color the lightsaber has. It's so alien to star wars and bad. How can they fack this up?
Well said! The TV show lightsabers look cheap and plastic, like no effort went into making them like they used to. Actually there is a scene with Luke in The Mandalorian where they forgot to add that little effect in one of the hallway scenes when he's fighting the Dark Troopers
Actually saw a behind the scene shot of that scene were Obi-Wan gets forced pushed back. And yeah the blades were blue and red LED like the forest scene from The Force Awakens.
I also dislike how they bounce so much now when two lightsabers make contact because they are using heavier plastic prop. The lighter metal ones from the prequels made the actors able to fight so much faster. They also trainer much more and had better choreography but still.
EXACTLY!!!! It's so fucking annoying why don't they just hire the same dude from the prequels like what the actual fuck! All it feels like bs! If HBO had Star Wars that would be amazing!!! Imagine a Game of Thrones Star Wars
It just seems to me like they sre getting greedy. I would like to view a timeline where Disney had less announced series, more time to work in between releases and fewer people in charge. Could you imagine if this was only run by Dave filloni/John faverou?
Only Disney could make something look worse 40 years later

Yes exactly! At some point I think they’ll realise we don’t always need ultra realism and hit some sort of middle ground with them.
They looked awful in Rise Of Skywalker.

Thanks!
I think it's similar to the uncanny valley. The more "realistic" they're made, the more they are perceived as fake.
Yes Exactly! Keep fantasy fantastic. Stop trying to ground everything all the time.

I hope they go back to full CG. I actually think it looked better. Maybe there’s a case for doing both?
THANKYOU
You are WELCOME!!

Wishful thinking!!
disney lightsabers are fat and cheap looking. not elegant at all
Agreed!!

Cuz they're actually laser swords. Lightsabers are effective, but laser swords aren't as effective.
