Adults have gotten into some scandals because they were looking and doing inappropriate things and got caught/ruined their family dynamics..... You have no idea how much this has reassured me that we can still raise our kids and give them the tools for success!
EXACTLY!! This is the type of phone I wanted for my child from day one and I only regret not knowing about it much sooner. I'm getting my childs as soon as tomorrow and as long as everything goes as planned, it should work just fine. Each child is different in the same family or other families and so is the parenting style so each family should make the best choice that works for their child and family

Direct messages on those platforms can be monitored if the child has an Android device. It will not monitor "snaps" just the text based direct messages.

RAZ Memory has senior friendly phones that even put pictures by name icons to make it easier to read and see or for seniors with memory issues of putting a face to a name. And lastly, I have seen this thing called a "dumb phone". It's basically just a phone, text, calculator, alarms. But the dumb phone does look pretty small like it would be hard for a senior to see letters on.
Just buy him a flip phone, so much easier. If he doesn't want to use a smartphone then why make him? I've yet to see a Walmart or cell store that doesn't have those types of phones and if you're somehow like in the middle of nowhere without any stores nearby, you can just order something online. It's like saying you hate milk but love juice, so how do you make milk taste more like juice? You don't, just buy juice.
Do you have a recommendation for allowing access to the "settings"? Our Bark phone is for a teenager (not a child) who wants to be able to use Bluetooth, change sounds, etc. -- all of which require settings access (Would the Bark app notify me if he has found a workaround?) / Thanks for your videos -- so helpful!

There's probably nothing stopping somebody from flashing custom firmware to this to make it a usable phone if the bootloader can be unlocked. To my knowledge, it's just a regular Samsung phone with a locked down version of Samsung's stock Android.
I would just buy a phone that’s talk and text only until they understand the true meaning on a phone then they can upgrade to a real phone on their own accord. I’ve seen kids with phones that literally only use it for tik tok or TH-cam and Snapchat.

What does break through? This phone seems like you need permission for everything.
Is Bark able to monitor messages through apps like TikTok or Snapchat? Does the "undeleteable messages" work under that as well, or just texts?

Bark has its own service if you use their phone. They have different prices depending if you want data or not. 4 GB a month will run you $60 a month.

You could allow access to connect a Bluetooth device and then lock it back up? Bark would t be able to notify you of the settings have been changed.

You can set time limits for the individual apps, but you wouldn't be able limit how long they are talking to an individual contact.
