I heard the Pinwheel has "loopholes" where the kids are able to sneak their way into using a browser. Did you have this problem?
How old is your son? We are thinking about Pinwheel as first phone for high school.

I am getting a pinwheel for my daughter. I already ordered the pinwheel plus. Her main concern was being ridiculed for having a flip phone or less “cool” phone. This is the perfect solution. I also love that I will be able to change the settings as she grows.
So you don’t use any scheduled modes anymore? How are you experiences with not using his phone when he’s supposed to get some sleep at night?
I still have his phone on bedtime mode after 10pm.

I am just letting you know that. this phone is pretty useless. My daughter doesn't bring her phone to school so I did not notice that the location of the phone was not loading correctly. Today she took her phone to went out with her friend, I checked to see where she is and data is not loading, I contacted Pinwheel customer service and they said "trouble shooting needs to be done by the pinwheel device not from parent portal" . well what is the point of having the phone if I can not locate where she is. It would have been way better and cheaper to give her cheap iphone and put her in Family plan to manage her phone. Iphone has the feature as you already might know.
I had pinwheel for about 1 month. Their phones are junk and they service is full of problems. Dont waste your time. Also their return process is horrible. You have been warned.
