I really love how you explain your thoughts for each puzzle and also explain what you're doing during the WR's. I usually figure out the puzzles myself but sometimes I don't until you explain it. Just wanted to say I really appreciate it mate.

Chemical Plant Zone Act 2 was a nightmare when I was younger, just because of that one area where you had to ascend several of those yellow box lines whilst the chemical water rises, eventually passing you, with no bubbles around the area as well.

That shell swapping mechanic is brilliant. Not only do I think you could make an entire series of levels based around it, it seems like the sort of gimmick that could make a really cool indie puzzle game. Also your meta commentary on how it works in-world was hilarious.
Yeah that one was soooo creative! In the original SMW there were even more types of koopas. It would be cool to have even more properties, like when Yoshi eats different colors it does different things.
Agreed, though sometimes there is something that it will block. Like for the 2nd level here (Pushing Daisies) it would not be good to be in upper left.

On Super Mario World there are also blue and yellow koopas. A red, green, or yellow koopa will come out of it's shell and enter a new one. A blue koopa won't enter shells, but instead kick them. And a koopa that enters a yellow shell will basically become a flashing koopa shell that is fairly dangerous if you aren't careful.
For the walk puzzle. The maker can prevent spin jumps with the pow by forcing you to pick up an item while bouncing For example, putting a P switch in the wall, and a brick blocking the question block. If you are carrying a pow you would be unable to pick up the P switch to disable the brick
omg That sonic big was the freaking best. Oh man that awesome. You know if they made a sonic maker game, that was based off of the original games, id definitely buy that
I feel like the way the color of the koopa affects whether they walk off ledges isn't supposed to have anything to do with how they think, I think that since most of what they do is just walking, they're instructed to react to ledges in a certain way based on shell color. Being told to walk off if green, or to turn around if red. As for the feet changing color, I think that's because they're simply wearing shoes, and they're supposed to match the color of the shell. I don't know how he just happens to have a pair of green shoes with him though.

The Water Temple in OoT drove me insane. I got the 3DS version and it took an eternity to beat in, and then the boss was a disappointment.
