Getting caught up on your adventures. I'm 71 and My son is 34. We do river camping out of our 16ft. closed bow runabout. Rustic camping on islands in the rivers of the upper midwest USA. Amazing how wilderness these islands are. Thanks for showing us how you handle yourselves in the rough. Love it.🏕🚤🔥
Looks like you Boy's are well on your way to an Epic B2B Adventure. Keep ya fingers away from those Mackys, those fish 🐟 😉 don't just eat Lures as ya Bro Strick found out. Great to see 👀 you back on the water. Cheers 🍻
Hi guys, looking fwd to the adventure ........ @21:00 I realise it was a bit of a throwaway line about vinegar but it really isn’t going to be much use vs irukandji, and debatable for box jellies (although I definitely would use it). Vinegar is meant to effect/neutralise the trigger mechanism of the jellyfish’s nematocysts (stinging cells) and by doing so reduce the amount of envenomation ....... it does not effect the potency or effect of the venom, just the potential of delivery. Unlike box jellyfish, irukandji are very small, don’t tend to wrap/entangle victim/person, but rather brush past. This is different to box jellies which can have massive long tentacles which often entangle and get stuck on victim. Therefore once you realise (even if you do - very innocuous sting) you have been stung by an irukandji you have already been envenomated ...... vinegar = zero effect (unless it’s tentacles are stuck to your face) Just an FYI, not trolling
Guys you're living the dream 👍🏽 Don't forget to take off the engine skin cover I just realized that you guys running with it on..... Blessed be the journey 🙏🏼
WTF...OMG first off all thank you for sharing this adventure. Gotta say Az...as a regularly bearded man when my kids see me clean shaven the look of disappointment and shock never ceases to amaze and amuse me. Sooooo...WTF Lmao!!! Bless you both be safe! keep it coming mate!
I almost didn't recognize AZ without the curls and beard! He's mighty pretty without it but, I kind of miss the sexy beast.😁 The fishing was impressive as usual. I'm looking forward to the next episode. --Jessica from Florida 🌞
hahha Jess! You're the best. it doesnt take long for this hairy fella to grow the face jungle back. thanks for watching and coming along for the journey. Az
I honestly didn't recognize you without the beard haha! Fantastic first episode, thanks for taking us along as always. Will be following the journey keenly. You boys coming all the way to Port Moresby?
I hadn't thought of it... would it still hold well in such high humidity and potential direct sunlight? Pretty exposed out in the boat , northern Aus, in summer. Thanks for watching as always Paul. A
@@BacktoBasics I don't know for sure, but if you vacuum packed in light proof (foil) bags you should be OK, might be worth a check. We just worry you won't get enough vitamins & gut health etc. All the best from the Noosa Hinterland 🎣💪✌❤
The salties will walk a long way up a beach or into bushland to get a feed. But when passing through, they're more curious. But stay a week or two, they'll get to know you... and plan their attack. being in the water or creek is a different story. But we made big fires most nights to try deter. Stay tuned! Thanks mate, Az
I’m currently in the process of organising a similar trip but starting in Karumba to boat up the west coast of the cape first. Very interested in your planning and rout you took
Look Az it's not often you would say this to someone and I mean no offence by it, but you've actually managed to look a lot older by shaving beard 🤷♂️ lesson learned - don't ever shave your beard! 😆 Glad you guys had an awesome trip you certainly made a fantastic episode out of it. Cheers 🍺☺️👍
Fair enough. hahaha. But I guess it depends what your going for... want to look older now.. and younger when I'm 50+? Hahha Cheers for watching Matty . Az
Me (Az) and my brother Jack for The Blue Highway Series mate, each week there will be most likely 1 ep from Strick & Fran.. and 1 with me and my brother Jack . Hope you enjoy! A
@@BacktoBasics Thanks for explaining, I have been watching Strick and Fran videos as well as La Vagabon before watching a couple of your videos. I was starting to think there were multiple universes going on here? I have enough headaches trying to keep up with my kids and their movies with multiple spiderman now multiple Back2Basics guys. Stay safe... regards from England.
Hey mate, sometimes the metals just don;t catch the food. And we do our best to beachcomb and find lures on the way. Many of our lures come from ones washed up on the beach, new hooks on and good as new! but agreed. not ideal.
Loving the video, Heads up AZ Vinegar - do not apply that to box jellys etc - You will make things much worse. Vinegar is not the go to treatment, Might be worth reviewing this to stop some bad outcomes FWIW. SLSA has some great info on treatments as a start, but definitely review the use of Vinegar which is best used for food and cooking! Love the Cape spec suggestion! Hope you took multivitamins with you LoL! Thanks for sharing the fun. Stay safe!
After spending the last week on the North Carolina coast getting skunked, you're fishing success is nauseating! Awesome video!
That's cuz you're fishing next to America the most crooked and polluted country in the world...
Hhaha hopefully you get onto some better luck G. Thanks for watching , A
Between you and the other Jack, this is the best!
we'll keep it coming mate yeww

Ha, without the facial fur it took a minute to realize that was you on camera!
My misses even thinks she's cheating haahah who's this clean faced man?
Yew the Troopy 🤘
Indestructible
What an amazing ep from you guys, really well done for #1!!! Regarding veggies would you consider either jarred or vacuum packed sauerkraut?
I hadn't thought of it... would it still hold well in such high humidity and potential direct sunlight? Pretty exposed out in the boat , northern Aus, in summer. Thanks for watching as always Paul. A

i loved this good vid
Jeez mate those camo suits at times I was struggling to find you on the big screen.
love this! how can I find the next episode?
Love the video, being from the U.K. My question is "how far from the water edge is it safe to camp, to avoid the salties?"
What a journey! What sunnies do you wear that cover the peripheral also?

Amazing adventure guys.
Zest of the best makes you feel alive.
Anyone know the name of the music sample hooked at the end?
Wire boys, wire.
What filleting knifes do you lads use ?? Awesome vid can’t wait for epi 2 👌🏼
Next episode looks like a doozy too! Should of packed some greens supplements to keep you’s going
Agreed. Driving down the road going... "F@k I forgot sooo many things at home"
Portland roads

Steel leaders
you Australians put the A in Adventure ,
Mate what brand is that green diver ?
Just as I was saying to myself why do people want to grab the line when they get the fish close to the boat? Pop, there goes the fish and the lure.
What's a GT?
What happened to u and Jack. U we’re a good team
👍👍
And the rifle??????
Wild pigs on the beach better watch out for me!

Why are lures not all made of metal and if you have the choice why not pick metal because I just watched you guys pollute the ocean with more plastic
Hey mate, sometimes the metals just don;t catch the food. And we do our best to beachcomb and find lures on the way. Many of our lures come from ones washed up on the beach, new hooks on and good as new! but agreed. not ideal.
