This was based on a true story, and the real Franklin went to jail, got out years later, wrote books, and now gives public speeches on his life. That would've been as real as an ending could be.
In 2:02 you can see the reflection of Leon while cissy is talking......very powerful message, this show paid a lot of attention to the most smallest detail ❤
Damson played the hell out the role as Franklin but people still complaining about the ending are just not living in reality he destroyed his community, he was to trusting of Teddy of women he became to arrogant and out of control,how else was it going to end,what a happy ending in Paradise🤨

Probably one of the saddest and most powerful scenes I've ever seen on TV. I know it's fictional but it's so heartbreaking it feels like it actually happend for real. Bravo to those involved. When a scene makes you feel like that you know you've done some stellar work.

I just don’t get how people are mad at Cissy, Franklin didn’t care about anyone by the time I was over. That money was no better for him than crack to his veins, he was lost.
You gotta try to remember and ask yourself why does Franklin want the money back and what will he use it for and what's the reason behind his insatiable hunger for it in the first place. He was trying to get out, and that was his key, people say he can do it with just salvaging what he has and building from the ground up (properties he had) but he effed it up. But people forget that 73 million can give Franklin the safeguard he needs for people that are coming for him cause even though if he got out, as what Michael Corleone said in Godfather 3 " Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in." That money is the key to make things harder for people to pull him back in.

Folks have such fickle perceptions unless you know first hand what this life entitles hard to truly understand cissy had a issue she needed help and therapy moment Alton died who are we to think she had clarity of thought in any of her decisions . Leon and Franklins last conversation is so disappointing because when Leon killed the little girl Franklin risked it all told everyone Leon was family and made sure Leon survived how could you turn your back on someone like that after losing all his money , his uncle , his mom in jail now and eventually his “girl” stealing all his money and leaving him everyone of the people around Franklin were possums like skulls said interestingly a few seasons ago they waited for their moment and each took what they could .

It’s easy to root for them because they’re the main character, but by the end their morals have gone completely out the window with self destructive behavior. He earned everything he got by the end. Frank avenged alton by killing teddys father intention or not and was betrayed by his own mother. If cissy stayed the same way since the beginning it would be believable but her helping frank after jerome and etc turned on him made all of this stupid. not to mention leon leaving frank completely assed out. no matter what was said between them or what he promised to cissy
