Clint! That is so wonderful to hear :) What a beautiful area to be in! Thank you so much for your wonderful support! How long are ya'll staying up in the UP for?
Another classic Hanks video. But only 10 mins? What’s up with that? Slackers. Post more - we want more - we need our Hanks!! Have a great week you two.
I love full timing. The minimalism is great. And the longer I do it the more I realize I'm able to comfortably live without and things that seem like inconveniences just become normal and something to do lol.
Absolutely!! The minimalism really opens your eyes and helps you to have a new appreciation for life. Thank you for taking the time to comment William 😊It's great to meet you
You crack me up. Great info. We had our first time last weekend of having to cancel our camping reservations at the last minute. My husband is all about maintenance and safety. He decided to adjust the brakes on the camper and one locked up so bad that he couldn’t get it to release. So cancelled camping. He bought all new brakes for the camper and within a couple of nights had changed all the brakes. Great to be able to do maintenance yourself. Happy rolling!!
Thank you Amy!! Better safe than sorry for sure, glad your hubby knows his stuff 🙂What a guy!! Tell him awesome job for us, ya'll are rocking it! Happy rolling to you guys as well! Thank you so much for your continued support ❤️
@@stephanieboat9333 With rising costs with home ownership, I am looking at RVing full time. So far, none of the trailers on the market meet my criteria like the trailer I already have. There are a couple that pique my interest but have drawbacks like an oven that I can't put a bread pan in. Looking forward to having you as a fellow traveler.
Same here. Been looking forward to this for a long time & here in the next few months, all these past 3 or 4 years now that I've been watching stuff like this & studying BTBRV will be paying off big time when I finally sell the house & buy my RV. It'll be an adventure for sure.
Theres some pretty reasonable lriced ones in NC. Grand Design is up there buuutttt they obviously are worth it. But there are some really nice ones around $40,000. I want to build a hybrid kinda living situation. Bedroom and kitchen in RV, but closet, laundry room, and living area at a permanent homestead. So I can go on trips without the anxiety of leaving the fur babies behind!
Hey Matt! Kyle and Renee here 😀We just wanted to reach out and see how you have been doing? Anything new or exciting in your neck of the woods? Hope you are having a great week, stay safe!!
@@HappilyEverHanks hey guys! We are doing great! Next trip is to our favorite winery for a Winter Wine Premiere and a couple nights camping next to the vineyards! 😄🍷 Maybe we’ll cross paths out on the road! Glad to see your rig looks so new and fantastic!!! #WhatTree
This is so wonderful to hear 😊👍🏼 That sounds amazing! What state do you guys live in?? We would love to meet y’all out on the road one day Hahaha 🤣 #WhatTree 😂
We tow a 28’ Eclipse Attitude Toy Hauler, loaded, with a 2016 Ram 1500. ZERO ISSUES OR TOWING PROBLEMS. If anyone says you can’t, they driving a Chevy or they’re lying. Great video!!
I'm wondering about your truck and 5th wheel combination. Have you two made a video about what type of truck (make, model, year, and trim package) you own and why you chose it to pull your 5th wheel? Have you made any upgrades? What's the payload and haul capacity of your truck? Is it a 3/4 ton or a 1 ton (or something else)? What type of engine? What type of hitch did you have installed? What extras do you have that makes your truck ideal for pulling your 5th wheel? What does your 5th wheel weigh and what is the hitch weight? If you had the opportunity to buy a different truck or 5th wheel, would you and why? I look forward to seeing the video with your answers (no need to reply to my questions in this post). P.S. you two are hilarious.
This is a really great video suggestion! Thank you so much for this 😃Lots to cover for sure! We will need to put some content together. Thank you for your continued support, much love to you from the Hanks family ❤️Have a wonderful rest of your week!
The trials and tribulations of a tow vehicle...Darn good questions!! I started with a Toyota Tundra 1/2 towing a TrailManor 2720SL. The TrailManor is a lightweight trailer that folds down and was well below the payload and tow capacity of the Tundra. Age caught up to me and I wanted a trailer I didn't have to put the cupboards up on the wall, lift the tops into position then hook up to services. My current trailer is just under the tow and payload capacity the Tundra but I was nervous about it. When the opportunity arose, I purchased a Chevy 2500 HD with all the bells and whistles. In the meantime, I purchased a Honda Pioneer 500 SXS so I needed lots more payload because I carry the SXS on a rack in the bed of my truck. In retrospect, I should have done my math and gotten a 1 ton. I have added helper springs to take care of the rear end sag and put weight back onto the front axle (surprisingly it did help the gas mileage). I am in the market for another trailer for full time RVing so the trailer has to be a towable because of the ATV rack and I have a needs list: Tow weight less than 13K pounds, tongue weight no greater than 1000 pounds...unless I can find an appropriate toy hauler that meets my specifications. I have a list...
@@valc8758 I got lucky with my first setup. A friend of the family passed away in 2017. We (Wife and I) decided last year it's time to give up the tent and move to an RV of some sort but everything we looked at would max out my Avalanche (base 1500 frame) so i called to see if i could buy their tow truck ("Stroker" 2001 F250 7.3 with the #8800 tow package and other upgrades) and the owner offered me both the truck and travel trailer (2013 Outback 260FL) at a fantastic price. If i ever upgrade the trailer i would go to a 5th wheel which "Stroker" was setup to tow first. I even have the old hitch. The only thing i would do different is "Stroker" would have been a 4X4.
@@captainkirk8806 Sweet deal... I didn't mention my 2500 is a 4X4. The dealers go bananas in Colorado when you ask for a 2X4. You have a great set up!!
Instead of using an air conditioner in your Rv. Buy a Artic Air pure chill 2.0 all you need to do is either use water or ice or both together. It workd really good. I received one for my birthday, and I love it.
OMG! My wife and I love you guys. Hilarious.... thanx for posting.enjoy the vids. #keepemcoming... that’s for you bud. Everyone knows you hashtag everything.
Lol oh my God.....I am dying laughing. Bahahahahaha I love you 2. I won't ask nothing like that but we have been doing research for over a year. I cannot wait till every Thursday comes along so I can watch you 2. Sending love and hugs. Seriously to funny
Look up the actor -French Stewart-I gave you his characters name from 3rd Rock from the Sun by mistake. You even have the same tone of voice! Love your video’s!!!!
In Texas you need a class A non CDL if you're RV is over 10,001 lbs or GVWR of 26,001 if I remember correctly. But like you said check your state regulations.
My wife and I are exploring going to the RV life at retirement in a year and a half and just discovered your channel. Yeah, we have lots of questions, and man o' man, you have answered so many questions and even more that we didn't know to ask! We're so glad to have found you and can't wait to get our camper (right now, a Class C is in the front running). Thanks for all the great, relevant and entertaining!
Hey Marc! This is so wonderful to hear 😃Thank you for your wonderful support. PLEASE keep these great comments and feedback coming on all the videos, we really like to hear what questions you still might have Class C sounds like such a great way to go. We have always wanted to go that route one day. If we ever do, we will be sure to be asking you for some help 😊Will you guys be doing a full time traveling upon retirement or more of like extended getaways?
@@HappilyEverHanks The conversation has creeped over to a travel trailer now, so we've been exploring that thought and a pickup. We've got less than 2 years before making a final decision. We have 2 cats comfort to contend with, and according to my wife, that's most important right now hehe! Since we have a home in Florida, we are also toying with the idea of snow birding- travel in the spring, summer and fall, and come back home to winter. The big determination would be the budget, as we own our home outright, we would have HOA fees to contend with. Decisions to be made, but all end with a happy conclusion!
Lol we totally understand that 😻 This is so exciting for you guys!! Yes, we are always dealing with that darn budget too #relatable Keep us updated on how things progress for you guys. We hope to hear from you on other videos as well!!
@@winelion1318same boat here - but about 5 years out for us. We also live in Florida, and are considering doing exactly what you said - traveling late spring, summer, and fall and spend the winter here in Florida. We are thinking about a class C and getting a small vehicle to tow behind. What did you guys end up deciding on?
awesome vid as always!!! btw.... just bought 2 inflatable SUPs, using your link.... we are super exited!!!! i hope we will love them as much as you do!!

Thank you so much Jerry!! We really appreciate your amazing support 😀🙌🏼 Dex man definitely loves and has taken well to the RV life 😻 Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Talk to you again soon
You are really living the dream! Yours is the only channel I subscribe to. Love the content and I always get a great laugh from both Carl and NeyNey. Be safe on the road.
You just completed the lightning round and are now ready for the final round.... Must admit that was great! You guys crack me up. Hope our paths cross someday.... #ThanksHanks , Don from Florida
LOL we are so happy that you enjoy the humor Don 🙂 We look forward to meeting you in person one day soon as well!! Stay cool in Florida, catch up with you again soon friend
I’m glad you brought up 1/2 ton trucks for towing. I am looking at a Grand Design Solitude 345GK 37’ and a GMC 1 ton truck. Have you done a video about your selection process/criterion for your Denali? I think a lot of people would find it informative. Love all your videos!
I'd love to not have to buy a dually. I'd prefer to buy a 1 ton SRW. We are planning on buying a Grand Design 351M. It weighs a total of 16800 lbs fully loaded and hitch is 2785 lbs.
This is my favorite RV based channel! My brother and I would fit in so well with the two of you. Don’t take offense to this, PLEASE, but he and I always joke around that we should get paid for acting stupid (silly would be a better word) because we’d be billionaires. To make it worse, I’m 60 and he’s 57, so people look at us and walk away, shaking their heads. We don’t care. We’re having fun!!
Thank you so much Lori!! You guys are amazing, we totally hope that we can meet up with you soon :) You guys totally should! No offense at all, we love people who keep it real! I just wish we got paid billions 🤣🙌🏼We would totally hang out with you guys. You sound like a BLAST ❤️
We enjoy watching your channel - keep it up. When you answered the question regarding keeping the refrigerator cold while driving you never mentioned that RV refrigerators run on propane or electric. Gotta love a cold beer after a long day on the road!
Hey Tom!! Yes you are totally right #TeamColdBeer 😊🙌🏼 we try to keep things simple in this video and answer it in a broad explanation so to speak We totally agree with you!!
My wife and I are going on 22yrs full-time. We could tell you some tails. The most important thing that we have found is you have to be very good friends. We could argue the 5th wheel vs tow behind as we've had both. We are now in a MH and won't go back until it's time to stop. Yall just keep having fun and be prepared as a thing can happen. Tom & Loretta
Y'all are absolutely awesome and nailed it! I see us going down a deep rabbit hole with all the videos! :) We just sold the house a month ago, traded in our 2021 Grand Design Imagine travel trailer for our 2023 Grand Design Solitude S Class 2930RL and are now full timing it with our three dogs and camper cat! Currently in north Texas.......let's go Texas summer heat!!!!
Special license; In PA they are now requiring a non-CDL license for any RV trailer over 10,000 Lbs GVWR. It is the inspection and driving portion of the CDL test. No medical or exam.
That was over the top awesome, you guy's are great!! Well done! I will be buying my first RV in a month or so, it's all new to me. Yes, living full time alone, but that ok.
I am a single gal and travel without a second thought. It is just me and my cat. I am always getting the "You travel alone?" line. Yup!! Looking forward to seeing you out there.
Agreed…I just recently found them so I get to binge them for a while…but I limit myself to 3 per day…I don’t want to run out too soon. Hey Kyle…would love to see a video of your recording/ editing set up….once my sister and I hit the road, I’d like to post out travels. But I’m old, so technology slaps me around on a regular basis…😳
This is so wonderful to hear 😃👍🏼 We would love to post more, but I want to make sure each video is rich with content that brings the best 🙂 I would love to sit down and go over all of our gear, stay tuned for that. Much love to all of you for you wonderful support!! You guys mean a lot!
@@HappilyEverHanks For this weekend anyway. LOL Of course you know we finally convinced Chuck to get the Blackstone. I don't think Alli will have to cook again! 😁 Jamie signed up for Wandering Labs, we are headed to Fort Desoto in a couple of weeks.
I was told by an rv technician to not to buy a 2020 or 2021 or 2022. They have been building them with way less quality due to demand and COVID not being able to find employees to work on them. He said they will literally hire anyone no matter your background
Very interesting, we own a 2019 model. I would be curious to see how the demand on the market is affecting that! Thank you for taking the time to comment Michael, keep these wonderful comments coming on other videos as well 😀 your feedback means so much!!
Loved the top 20 Q&A, always with the hilarious spin you put on them! Can believe that the sex question gets asked because love and romance doesn’t stop no matter what age you are 🔥. Sometimes due to the thin walls of the RV you overhear your neighbors and they may overhear your romantic times as well. Can make for some interesting conversations with neighbors and yourself lol. It’s definitely a topic that causes a few laughs here and there, but hey we’re all adults 👫 As the saying goes “If the camper is a rockin, don’t bother knocking.” Take care and en joy life!
had to watch several of your videos before finding that you have become one of my favorite channels to watch. Love your quirky sense of humor and the repartee that reminds me of my wife and I; all you are missing is throwing in the random movie lines during the videos and it would be like we were all separated at birth. Keep it coming.
Wow! Thank you so much for your wonderful support and kind words :) This means a lot to us! We hope our paths cross one day. Cheers! - Kyle, Renee, and Dexter
Love your videos!!!! My wife and I have been on the road for almost 2 years. Just wanted to let you guys know about a few RV parks to avoid. First Big River RV park in Roswell New Mexico, management is awful, we had a power surge run through our Class A motorhome because the shore power tower started sparking and when I contacted the office they said it wasn't their fault. Second lifestyle RV resort in Wilcox az. Booked a site and there wasn't any parking for the pull behind camper vehicles and found out after we had been there 3 weeks, decided to pull out early because we wanted to go to tombstone Arizona for an event and we were told by one office person that they had petty cash on hand to give us a cash refund when we went up to let them know that we were leaving and we were told by another office personnel " supposedly the acting manager" that they had no petty cash that we could not get a refund we had to pay for the power. Now I've been in places where I've had to do that no problem when I contact them about the site they told me that it was $600 a month everything included. Then when we got ready to leave they wanted to charge us for the power and other hidden fees . So needless to say we lost almost $200 because I just told him just to never mind and we went ahead and left . I highly do not recommend lifestyle RV resort or Big River RV Park .
Thanks for the heads-up, Duane! It’s always helpful to know which spots to avoid, especially with issues like power surges and hidden fees. That’s a bummer you had to deal with all that, but we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Also, thanks so much for watching our videos and for the support - we really couldn’t do this without awesome folks like you!
Oh my goodness, we are crying so hard from this viedo....laughing at the let it rip part of ....you know, the pooping....lol. thanks for keeping it real.
Hey Reggie & Cheryl! Ney Ney and Carl here 😊We are reaching out to see how you guys have been? It's been a crazy week here so far, but happy to have a little R&R tonight. Anyways, we are thinking of you both. Hope you guys are having a great week, stay safe out there friends 🤗
@@HappilyEverHanks hey guys thanks so much for all you do. We are so happy for your success on YT. You both are wonderful people. We have our Grand Design 17MKE now but only got out one time. We hope to see you to on the road one day.

To add a bit as we're rewatching some of your vids now that we're on the road ourselvces, the WASHING MACHINE thing... I'd likely make sure to purchase one if this didn't have one already. It is a life saver for the small loads of the cloths for the two of us we wore that day plus a couple towels. I'd recommend one for sure!
We’re new to RVing and landed on your channel a couple months ago and have watched and rewatched your videos! It’s like watching and learning from our own kids! This specific video is full of helpful info!! You guys rock! #thankshanks ❤️❤️
Hey Kim! Thank you so much for your amazing support!! We are so happy for you and your new adventures in the RV life! What kind of RV are y’all rocking out on the road?? 😀
Have been watching your videos to get some idea on what the rv life will be like for my wife and I in a couple of years when she retires. I do have a tip for you that I have used during river camping that works great. Buy some pool noodles and keep them around so that when you have an issue with noise makers like doors hitting a propane tank, just cut the noodle to size and split it down one side and use it on the door to stop that banging noise. They also work great as pipe insulation and other uses that you can think of.
Hey Joe!! Thank you so much for this awesome tip and taking the time to share it with everyone 😃We look forward to hearing from you again soon! Keep these wonderful comments coming!! Best to you both
Love the videos! In PA, with a regular license you can only tow a trailer under 10000 lbs. over that need non commercial cdl A. Motorhomes with a gvw >26000 lbs. would require non commercial cdl b. Keep up the great work!
@@HappilyEverHanks Angela. I have been watching many RV, travel trailer and truck camper videos trying to decide which route I'm going to take. I've settled on a truck camper, but many of the questions newbies ask about RV's, travel trailers and campers apply across the board, so thank again!!
It's great to meet you Angela! How exciting! We are so happy for you! 🙂We hope that we can hear from you in other videos as well, your comments are really encouraging and we enjoy hearing your side of the journey
@@HappilyEverHanks Arkys (Scarlet macaw) and Gipetto (Red fronted amazon) don’t mind it as long as I’m with them. We are intermittent wknd warriors. They have their cages for the truck and I drive less than 5hrs a day, then they are free in the rv when I’m home. I try to make the 5th wheel feel like home for them. Cages in there also for when I’m not home. My sister and I have been rigging a room under the awning but I think I’m going to purchase a screen room so they can be outside. Like I said…still figuring things out!!
Yes, totally hear you on that. They sound beautiful!! Love that you are taking the opportunity to make things work with the lifestyle. You are totally rocking it Kim!! Thank you for sharing 😃Keep us updated on how things progress. We would love to hear from you again, best to you

@@HappilyEverHanks absolutely not 😁😎.... It's was just me taking it literal... To clarify for others that are "confused😉"... 3 hour drive intervals, 3 hundred miles total a day, cracking the first can by 3pm! Start driving by 8am, drive 3 hours, stop for 30 min, drive another 2 hours and you've made it 300 miles..1 hour to setup and make your first 🍻...
@@HappilyEverHanks sadly, not yet! Trying to convince my fiancé it's worth the investment. He's worried about how much stuff we will be able to keep and the depreciation of an RV. I can't blame him, but the memories we could make with our almost 3 year old daughter would make it worth the while. Thank you both for all the work you put into this channel. You both have a great sense of humor, and I love watching you!
So many memories, but yes I can truly appreciate his thinking. You got yourself a keeper, sounds like he has a great head on his shoulders 🙂👍🏼 We recently had a tree fall through our RV and we are so worried it might get totaled. We are hoping not, because we don’t want to go sticking more money into another depreciating RV. Keep us updated on things, we would love to hear from you guys again in other videos as well 😃
@@HappilyEverHanks I saw your video trying to fix some of the damage. I am really sorry that has happened to you 😲 I can imagine how scary and stressful that had and has to be. I really hope they don't total it out. If there's not a lot of damage to the roof and seals, I feel like it's inlikely, though. But I know RVs get totaled much more easily and often than, say, a car. I will be sure to let you know if and when we get our RV. I watch your videos all the time so I'm sure I will find another I would love to comment on 😊
Aww thank you so much, we are just taking it a day at a time right now. Only thing you can do right? 😊 We appreciate you Amber! Stay safe out there, talk to you later on Cheers!

But we do plan on doing some fun fun camping while we can. Camped so much when our kids were young now time for me and my hubby.
You guys are so patient with all of our questions!! May I make a video suggestion?.... Fitness while living in an RV And theft in RV parks. Is it frequent? Prevention tips?

I found your channel because my wife and I are planning on doing a year or two of RVing, and we are trying to research at this point. You two are kinda weird but we kinda weird so we like ya. Your content has been super helpful and we appreciate you. Thanks for making all these videos. Maybe we will see yall out there.
Knowing you are from PA as well as myself, towing a combination over 26,001 requires a non-commercial CDL. Not sure what your combination is but you may want to look into it.
Oh that is so awesome Robert!! 😊🙌🏼We miss Florida so much and we can't wait to come back! Nice job landing a spot there!! Hope you have a wonderful week 👋🏼
Great vid! You give some sound advice. Would like to add one thing. Regarding a "special license...." If total GVWR is at/over 26,000lbs, it is best to ensure legality by having a Class A Exempt license.
Nice to to see a couple the same age as my wife and I living life in a RV. We had kids early on but love watching you two. Safe travels and remember to always date your spouse.

YES!! Thank you Uncle Mike! You absolutely ROCK! Miss you guys! 🤗
Sounds like you should take your camper to a shop to have the work done…

You both are so cute!!! I’m looking forward to watching your other videos. Thanks for the advice. 💕🌻

Thank you so much Michelle!! 😊🙌🏼 we really appreciate your support!! Are you living the RV life?
Definitely sounds like you have a list, but you are the perfect person for the job :) Love how much knowledge you have Val! You are killing it!!

FINALLY!! I've been watching about 5 vids from this couple (subbed by the way) and the dude reminded me of someone and I couldn't put my finger on it and then it hit me. French Stewart from the tv show ''3rd Rock from the sun''. Granted he doesn't squint his eyes but the voice and some of the mannerisms are similar. Any who great vid as always. :)

FYI in Texas you have to have a Class A non-CDL license if weight is 26001 or more.
Good to know. Thanks for sharing and watching! 😃
If you're making 300 miles in 3 hours you're my hero🏎️🚓
I wish!! It's either 3 hours or 300 hundred miles 🤣🙌🏼hahaha! This is awesome!!
Right? If I get 200 miles in 3 hours, I’m booking it!! 🏁🏁
I think we butchered this saying 😅I thought it meant drive 300 miles, drive 3 hours or get there by 3
@@HappilyEverHanks "And" "Or" what's the dif? Still another great video!
Thank you 😊
I found your channel because my wife and I are planning on doing a year or two of RVing, and we are trying to research at this point.
Good to know! Thank you so much 😃😃😃
Not gonna lie.... I didn’t ff to the last ?. I saw you were parked at my favorite State Park(1:20). I’ll be there in a month:)
Oh that is so awesome Robert!! 😊🙌🏼We miss Florida so much and we can't wait to come back! Nice job landing a spot there!! Hope you have a wonderful week 👋🏼
You guys always make these so fun! Lol great video guys, love the answers 😂
Thank you both so much 🤗You absolutely rock!! Hope ya'll are doing well!
I enjoyed this video! Made me laugh. Your makeup looks amazing!
Wow thank you so much!! 🤗 This means a lot!! What’s your name by the way? Do you currently own an RV?
Great video! I always see White Claws, what are your flavors of choice?
Hey Shelton!! Ruby Grapefruit and Watermelon for us 🙂What about you?
Flavor collection #3. Includes Blackberry, Strawberry, Mango, and Pineapple. I like the blackberry and Strawberry the best.
Yes!! Those are really great ones as well :) I won't complain, I usually drink anything. We need to meet up and have some White Claws Shelton!!
Any time you are in NY let me know! White Claws on me :)
Sounds amazing!! We can't wait for that :)
Great vid! You give some sound advice. Would like to add one thing. Regarding a "special license...." If total GVWR is at/over 26,000lbs, it is best to ensure legality by having a Class A Exempt license.
Thanks for the info!
Nice to to see a couple the same age as my wife and I living life in a RV. We had kids early on but love watching you two. Safe travels and remember to always date your spouse.
Hey Timothy! That is awesome you guys are our age 😃We hope that we can meet up with you guys one day soon! Ya'll sounds like great people!
