Thanks for a talk that helps make sense of Christianity and clarifies that it is an example of the Perennial philosophy. I wish Eckhart was more widely read by Christians.

I am so glad that Eckhart's works survived as they have. His ways of describing how one might develop a conscious connection with God-the-Source go way beyond the often narrow confines of religious thought. Mystics of many non-Christian traditions have recognised the accessibility and power of Eckhart's insights. With the light of hindsight it is, I think, easy to see that Eckhart towered over those who challenged his Christian orthodoxy in the name of the institution. Thank you Felip for another wonderful video. Health and Peace, Paul

    Merry Christmas.
Meister Eckhart is very much respected in Advaita Vedanta of Hinduism.
Ground of God like Brahman & Soul in Ground of God equates to Atman The Self. In highest spiritual perspective Brahman = Atman.. Interesting Meister Eckhart arrives at Advaita philosophy independently similar to many Christian Mystics

What I find so beautiful and so powerful in this teaching is that he tells us the way to God is through Stillness - Silence - Unknowing.
Compare this to the endless hours of discussions, texts and debates trying to 'prove' the existence of Jesus or the Trinity, etc.. Or people trying to show how clever they are at beating their opponent in debate - TH-cam is full of such examples.
Eckhart will have none of this - remove the obstacle of our so-called powers and the Soul will shine with God's light.
I could write more, but I will follow Eckhart's advice and now return to my Silence - my Path of Unknowing.
One last thing to write is that he is absolutely right when he says that listening is better than seeing (reading?). I found listening to this sermon so much better than reading it. Does anyone know if there are audio versions of his sermons? If not, Filip, I suggest you record them and put them on sale - I would buy them.
Thank you for this 'Christmas' message.

Pilot and his wife did not want Jesus dead: Matthew 27:15 Now it was the governor’s custom at the festival to release a prisoner chosen by the crowd. 16 At that time they had a well-known prisoner whose name was Jesus Barabbas (son of his father, suggests he was a bastard).
Matthew 27:17 So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Jesus Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?”
Matthew 27:19 While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat, his wife sent him this message: “Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man (innocent man??), for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.”
Matthew 27:24 When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “It is your responsibility!”
So, both Pilot and his wife considered our Jesus to be an innocent man. And Pilot further says that he is innocent from Jesus’ blood. This further proves that if Jesus was alive in the cave, then no one would have wanted him dead. Instead, they would’ve all been more than willing to offer him medicine and treatment.

Meister Eckharts teaching will not be controversial nor heretical if one were to have the mystical inner experience because what he has to say about mysticism has nothing to do with time. What he has to say takes place beyond time . One is totally free and empty of all that has to do with time, one is free from the world of sense through the transcendence. This one birth in the soul is none other than God in each person individually and without multiplicity. One has to let go of the false self and empty out all that is false. God must increase and we must decrease. It's very difficult to let go of the false self. A leap of faith into the unknown. The kingdom of God, the life of truth is within. 😊
Meister Eckhart is a jewel ❤

Being educated in Hasidic yeshiva I am rather struck by how similar this is to a Maimer by a Hassidic Rebbe. Tweaks of the overtly Christian references and this would be thoroughly Hassidic.
For me it adds to the concept of an underlying unified understanding of the 'Divine' Oneness/Unity.
    Remarkable indeed.

Or maybe it’s because Christianity has Jewish roots.

Thank you for another brilliant video. This sermon is about achieving the highest state of spiritual consciousness. It perfectly describes Nirvikalpa Samadhi or Fanaa. And sounds as though written in modern times.

The spiritual connection with the Creator is achieved through Salah ( connection ) . Quranic Salah is not the ritual 5 parayers ( parsi namaz , unislamic ) . Read Dr Kashif Khan's articles on salah on the internet and also his other articles 👍

When I was in grad school, most people in Religious Studies were pushing very hard against seeing commonalities in religious or 'mystical' experiences in divergent times and places, instead emphasizing differences in cultural and political context. But so much of that sermon would make sense in a Hindu context!
