- DmC: Devil May Cry’s Platinum Trophy was SURPRISINGLY GOOD and fun. (Especially after the nightmare that was DMC 4’s platinum 🤣)
I hope you enjoyed watching me suffer through all of the dreaded SSS-ranks required for this platinum aswell as the Dante/Vergil Must Die Modes and if you did please join me on my mission to obtain all the platinum trophies in the DMC Series because why save my sanity and stop at one?
There is only one more game left to platinum now… DMC 5. It is going to be tough but 100% worth it!

Soulstice from late 2022 is another game in this genre that takes some ideas from DmC: Devil May Cry for the gameplay. First real big project by its respective dev studio, from what i know.
More Darksiders in tone, as well as gameplay influences from DMC5 and Bayonetta.
Got its rough spots, as all games in this genre do, but it's a good game!

@@RadTuba03 Soulstice is really cool. (warning, fairly big comment incoming). The effort in the visuals are very clear from the get-go, but on a technical level there's also a lot:
- Seven different weapons
- around twenty different enemies
- I believe around seven or eight bosses total
- a mix of a Style meter and a Special/"Devil Trigger" meter
- Multiple Special/"Devil Trigger" states.
- A color coding mechanic that still makes ALL weapons viable on all enemies.
- A very in-depth skill tree for the player character's dead ghost sister on her shoulder, where skills can have full currency refunds if you don't like some (and the upgrades are more mechanically substantial, not percentage-based boosts and resistances. Stuff like the dead sister shooting out a blast that now launches Medium class enemies too)
- And quite a good story.
Plus:
- Training room
- Bosses are their own individual Chapters for quickly replaying them
- Colorblindness options and button remapping options.
I want to be transparent in its shortcomings too, so here goes:
- The game drags on in the middle. About eighteen gameplay chapters and five or six boss chapters.
- there's some enemies that are a bit annoying, mainly the ones known as Stingers and Abominations. A few others can give trouble too, but i'd say that at least fifteen of the total enemy variety are managable to deal with.
- You'll get most out of your moveset on a second playthrough.
- Challenge rooms can be bovine manure. Which is part of what would make a full Platinum playthrough w o a g h.
And things you may be "eh" on/prove conflicting:
- Camera angles
- Voice acting at times
- The Color-Coding thing is done by way of casting a forcefield that moves alongside the player character. Which itself isn't bad, but there's a kind of timer on the amount of time you can keep either forcefield up.
From the get-go this is mitigated by the fact the timer is pushed back a bit with every hit you land on a Forcefield-affected enemy, but if the timer reaches its limit, you'll be unable to hurt them for a few seconds.
Thing is, there's skills that can weaponize this penalty by way of special skills for the dead sister. They do stuff leaving behind some exploding crystals, reforming quicker, and skills that boost this penalty buildup to more quickly leave those crystal mines around and reform, etc.
Plus, there's a skill that expands the forcefield and one that has enemies still affected by them for a few seconds when exiting it. But those are mainly in the last two of the five total skill tree tiers.
Lot to sink one's teeth into! When you check it out, i really hope you'll have fun with it and make more people aware of it.
Clash: Artifacts of Chaos from last year was good too! More of an adventure brawler/fighter than an outright character action game, but good nonetheless.
But for other character action/whatever-the-name games, you may want to keep an eye on the upcoming Genokids, Enenra and Yasuke: A Lost Descendant.

Oh well, I actually enjoyed my time with the game as the gameplay was really fun and that’s the most important part in these games. I made that intro before even the first video I did on the series and just put it in each video to help me ease into the content without being too abrupt if that makes sense.

tip 4 dmc5, seeing as i've already platted it, get the vergil DLC and max it out. trust me it makes life less difficult.
The Vergil DLC comes with DMC 5 Special Edition but I was planning on maxing him out anyway thanks for the tip 💪
Nice video, I personally love DmC and NT as a whole.
I've been defending it for a long time, so it was a breath of fresh air watching this video.
The only problem I have with this video is the audio when you're playing the game. It's really hard to hear what you're saying.

I also love this game, it's fantastic imo. The level design always blows my mind whenever I replay any mission, and the combat is pure fun
officially finished the dmc franchise some days ago (excluding the reboot), and man, it was a blast.
i liked it, albeit frustrating at many points, and also enjoyed the lore and soundtrack thoroughly.
currently playing V as vergil again and im having the time of my life.

That’s awesome to hear man, in the last stages of my first DMC 5 playthrough and then it will start getting painful 🤣. Reboot is well worth a go I think but definitely not necessary. DMC 2 even less so 😭
The only saving grace IMO about DMC2 is when you finish DMD mode, play as Trish and use the infinite DT cheat, that's it.

It’s a good thing that you didn’t try to get all the Achievements on the PC version. Some of those Achievements are BRUTAL. I’m still going to get them all, though.

@@RadTuba03 There are two Achievements, one for Dante and the other for Vergil, which require you to SSS Rank all their Missions on Nephilim difficulty.
You also need to complete 4 Achievements that require you to beat the Heaven Or Hell AND Hell And Hell difficulties with both Dante and Vergil.

Yeah this was a nicer, quicker platinum to get before the behemoth of DMC 5 which I am working on getting now 🤣. Loving DMC 5 so far and am 2 missions away from the end of the first playthrough then the pain will follow…

@danquaza9275 I’m least looking forward to Hell & Hell S ranks. I also have to do all the Vergil DLC stuff as it is a part of the main list for DMC 5 Special Edition but I don’t mind doing all that because Vergil is fun to play 💪
@@RadTuba03doing the Vergil trophies is going to be the best part. It’s so cathartic totally whipping demons left and right and being cool as hell while doing it. I’m gonna suggest getting the Legendary Dark Knight trophy done with Vergil also for… obvious reasons haha

It is on the list and I have all the games except Code Veronica but I have some other games I want to play first but I will be doing it soon enough 💪

Every time I go back to the reboot I remember how terrible the dialogue is, in contrast, the game feels so good to play... The remaster at least, I love this game!
Yeah the dialogue can be very strange but the gameplay is great
I feel like this game would have been better if it wasnt called DMC and had it own characters. It still wouldn't be a masterpiece but it wouldn't be as bad as it is. 😅

The entire HD collection took me (around) 95 hours, DMC 4 = 112 Hours for me but could be around 90 if you’re quick, DmC: Devil May Cry as said in the video, 35-40 😁

The reason why this game is hated is because at launch it had every kind of issue possible: frequent crashes and glitches, 30 FPS cap, lock on was automatic like dmc1's (without and indicator), color-coded enemies could only be attacked with 2 weapons (which is really annoying in high difficulties) audio looping issues, dub wasn't in sync with the speech in some languages, focus (the effect that keeps the camera on the enemy you are attacking) wasn't a thing, and there's probably a lot of things that im forgetting alongside dante and vergil feeling completely out of character, on top of that the advertising campaign for the game was absolutely reprehensible. The game you are playing is the definitive edition, a version of the reboot that improved on most of the shortcomings of the original game, making it playable, rather enjoyable if you ask me. The original version of this game is not available anymore on the playstaion store but it's available on pc, for the record, it's the only version of the game available on steam, meaning that PC players had to rely on modders to implement 23 pages of the definitve version's patch notes. Overall I enjoy the definitive edition and don't mind the innovative mechanics they added, the game is fun as of right now, but i find original games in the series preferable because of my familiarity with the combat system
As ugly as this game is, its gameplay is arguably the most beautiful among the series.
I consider the gameplay to be superior than DMC5 because DMC5 is slower because of the longer hit feedback. It's just soo smooth and you can feel every impact, even on Rebellion's basic combos

Nah man, DMC 2 sucks this game is just meh. Gameplay is good but most other things are bad but in an action game like this the gameplay being good is crucial
