I was thereso please don't hate me too much. Flew over from Texas. I knew I would kick myself if I didn't go. She is phenomenal. All I could do was say "WOW" and smile I was so impressed with her in this live performance. From start to finish her vocals were felt in the soul. Incredible.
Phenomenal performance by the loveliest voice in music today. Gorgeous vocals and stage presence. This young lady was born to be on a stage. Great reaction Bob.
Thank you for your excellent ongoing reactions to Lucy. How exciting it is to see her perform live. WOW!!! Lucy releases the power of her stage voice and presence. Lucy delivers every song with emotion, passion and charisma. She is indeed a superstar and very deserving of the sold out audiences appreciation.
Any singer who can take on covers of legends like Barbara Streisand and Whitney Houston etc and is amazing is something special. In the 50s 60s & 70s there were some incredible singers, and young Lucy has proved over and over again that she can handle any musical style flawlessly.
"It's a classic for a reason" - That is a great quote by you & so true. She sings this like she wrote the song and gives the impression she has been singing this thousands of times at night clubs over the past 30 years - The young lady just turned 20 years old - 20!! - her vocal skills and stage performance skills are staggering - AMAZING!!!
Yep same concert. Hi Bob. Hope things are going good with you. Lucy is just so talented. I hope she continues to expand her presence in the world. It’s a very slow process. At any rate she knocked this one out of the park. Please stay safe, healthy, and free.
A great performance. It deserved a standing ovation. I'm not sure if she got one, but it was fantastic.

Great reaction to a fantastic performance. And I think you hit it right on the head. I think Lucy shows respect to every cover artist she performs, but doesn't try for a second to mimic them or compete with them. Every song becomes her own, respectfully, and in the most beautiful way we can imagine. What a gem. --Jon
this is Lucy at her best one of my favouriyes from Manchester love your comments and promotion fir Lucy i was on the front row at the concert sorry about reminding you
Excellent thoughtful analysis Bob of not only Lucy's outstanding performance but also the iconic song made popular by Etta James. HOWEVER Lucy made this her very own. Listen to the power and those smoky low notes. Her lower range is almost becoming a trade mark of her incredible vocals now. On the other hand and for a contrast, it would be interesting to get your reaction to Lucy and Martha's rendition of "Pie Jesu" where Lucy's upper range hits the heavens - it's incredible .
Hello Bob, this is another great reaction from you in supporting Lucy singing " At Last " I completley agree with you about listening to Lucy, she takes you back in time when the world had all those amazing female singers, Lucy has this great ora about her & her voice is so rich & powerful, it's just like going back to the 60's & 70's when they had all those great singers. take care Barbara
Thank you for supporting Lucy and hating me. I like you to hate me more next year 'cause that means I can go see her in London.🤣 Hope to see you there. Yes, 4 videos yet from this concert.
As Bruce Lee once said 'Be water my friend', meaning when you spoor water into a pot, it becomes the pot, poor water into glass it becomes the glass. When Lucy sings, she becomes the song, she sings the song with all her heart and soul, she sings with clarity, smooth control, a beautiful softness, and breath control, she checks all the boxes. When Lucy sings 'At Last', she puts what Etta James put into it, even though Lucy puts her own spin on the song she becomes Etta James.
Hi Bob, this was Lucy’s second song of the Stoller Hall concert, four have been posted so far, “ Somewhere” was first, this second, “ We can change the World” was 16th and “ Hallelujah” 17th ( encore) just 13 more to go!
Hi Bob So glad you reacted to this iconic song She crushed it as always and made it her own .This is the best performance of this song I have ever heard and I have heard a few .At 20 years old unbelievable .Her studio version was out of the Park this live one is in Orbit she sang 17 songs at this concert her .The one I am waiting for is "Don´t Cry for Me Argentina" Thanks for Your reaction Bob I know you reacted to Hallelujah her studio version have a listen to this Live Version even better than the studio version.th-cam.com/video/dAgZAKzjmhE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TKl99ZmzDWPE4uKG What can you say about Lucy other than WOW.
Great reaction Bob. I will be seeing her live in Tokyo on September 8, so you can start hating me now….hahaha……she is just incredible!…..thanks again!❤
Great reaction Bob! You are one of my very favorite reactors and I have so so missed you reacting to Lucy (and Martha). This was nothing less than stunning! So rich and beautiful. Lucy has the most beautiful voice in the world. I noticed you have been really missing out on Lucy's earlier performances at ages 14, and 15. They often get overlooked, even by the greatest reactors like you. Even at a younger age, Lucy’s voice was already mature beyond her years and absolutely stunning. You absolutely have to play and react to Lucy’s breathtaking performances of: “LISTEN”; th-cam.com/video/-fGe8Z4uLWE/w-d-xo.html At only age 14, Lucy had the mature, passionate, and powerful voice of an adult diva. And “I’LL NEVER LOVE AGAIN"; th-cam.com/video/4g1Qpu9XPL8/w-d-xo.html At only age 15, Lucy’s emotional and powerful performance was even better than the original. And “RUN” th-cam.com/video/HTnry6S4vgc/w-d-xo.html At only age 15, Lucy’s voice was so rich and powerful; I promise you will be blown away! Hopelessly Addicted in Arizona
Hi Bob. Did I hear you say some time ago that you go to Vegas occasionally? Could you imagine Lucy having a residency there. I think she'd be a smash hit with her versatility. The old classics mixed in with some contemporary rock and pop and of course some musical theatre. What's not to like!!! Just a thought. occ
How can you talk about the "original song" without mentioning it was written by Harry Warren and Mack Gordon and first recorded by the Glenn Miller Orchestra in the early 1940's? This version was arranged by Riley Hampton and recorded by Etta James some twenty years later, so it is only an Etta James song in that her recording was a hit. But I agree with your assessment that Lucy Thomas did an outstanding performance of it.
How do we get her to sing I Don't Know How to Love Him from Jesus Christ Superstar? And The First Time Ever I Saw Her Face? She would knock those out of the park like everything she does.
Do you know what song I would love to hear her sing...don't laugh...Don't Cry for me Argentina. I think she could do a good job in giving it a twist that fits her.
Lack of purity for a live performance. Maybe some production/corrections after the fact, or possibly live corrections? Lucy can be a great talent, but something tells me someone is directing her the wrong way. Stay pure no fakery.....PLEASE!!!!!!
Not sure what you mean by 'Lack of purity for a live performance', and there is certainly no live correction, although possibly some post note pitch correction by misguided sound engineers. The 400 plus audience at Lucy's concert will not accept that there is any difference whatsoever between her live performance and the videos of the four songs released so far!
@@michaelhingley4770 I wouldn't believe it now. Once you touch that and already did that, I will question everything after. For instance and an example, would you trust a thief to sleep in your house for one night? Obviously an example. Also I can hear the corrections and the layer the software does, and I know not everyone has the ear to distinguish it. Now if it's live or after the fact? I wasn't there so.... Just to clarify, all music videos Lucy has are pitch corrected from top to bottom massively. So....live? I don't know...I just can't believe it. What I'm sure of is that this has some corrections. Either post or live in real time. Yet you may still enjoy vocals that are not pure and raw, almost everyone does nowadays. That's where the industry is heading, for less outcome and more income. Because we are celebrating artists who does it. But sorry I don't want to get in a ramble. God Bless
@@TroyArchAngel Your analogy is wide of the mark and disrespectful. If there is one character trait of Lucy's that stands out, it is 'integrity'. There is no fakery involved here - what you get is what you see with this young lady. Your statement that 'all music videos from Lucy are pitch corrected from top to bottom' is woefully inaccurate and I think you are getting carried away with your pet gripes about the state of the music video market now! You are effectively suggesting that all of Lucy's videos are Autotuned, whether live concert or studio versions, and this could not be further from the truth. There is no way in which a mediocre singer can be turned into a great vocalist with Autotune, or even a few pitch corrected notes - and Lucy is a great vocalist! She has, for me, the most beautiful voice I have ever heard - and so your gripe, I suggest, is not with Lucy but with her record label. Lucy signed to Cavendish Records at the age of 14 and will have undoubtedly relinquished editorial control of videos in her contract. Whether this remains the case as her career develops, we will discover in due course. God bless! 😊
@@michaelhingley4770 I will not continue to discuss this further with someone who is not being truthful and is blinded. So you are saying that for example Hallelujah is raw vocals with no pitch correction? 😂 Are you afraid to say it? when it's the obvious truth. Sorry to say that you are harming her career by agreeing that this is okay. I believe you get what I mean, how you can harm her career by supporting whatever is released. And again I say it again because it's the truth. All music videos of Lucy are pitch corrected to perfection from top to bottom. I hope someday she gets this from her true fans, and possibly does something, because I know she has talent to be better than this. Just before I leave, I would like to say this, this performance is one of her least that has been tweaked. Because for once I heard her true vocals with no layers. God Bless and take care

she brings to life in her own way the magic of these songs
Lucy does superbly beautiful singing amazing voices.
I love when she sings these old standards. Just amazing.
Thanks for sharing this Bob. I love Lucy's rich sounding voice and her choice in singing/performing the classics. Perfection!

Bob - yesterday Lucy released Unchained Melody. It may be her finest work yet. If you are tempted by 3 octave singing, check it out!

Thanks. Released my reaction this morning. :)
Can't wait for my Michael Hutchence brand new song 2024 request 😊😊😊
