Want to see more Pentagram here on the channel? Or perhaps even some Witchcraft? Let me know what song you'd like to see down in the comments. Thanks for watching!
@@charlielamb5796 Glad you dig it. Have been really wanting to get around to it for a long time. Will be leaning back towards more lesson based content here for a while.
Great lesson bro, one of the few channels on youtube that actually talks about what’s going on in a song in intervals rather than meaningless fret positions. Thanks a lot
That one (the at least the recording from from first daze here) is actually done in E Standard. When they re-recorded it for Show ‘Em How (2004) they used the whole albums respective tuning standard of D.
thanks for posting this. I was struggling with a few of the notes affecting the feel of the song, but watching you play through it at the beginning resolved my stubborn issues
@@DoesItDoom GREAT GREAT SONG for sure! Thanks again for posting it and for your other channel content. I recently found it and subscribed. You have some great content and chops.
Witchcraft would be cool. Also would love to see Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats (like Death's Door), it's one of those songs where I think I'm like 80% there but I'm pretty sure I'm missing some details.
@@DoesItDoom That it is! The guitar is bad ass but being able to play drums on it is so much fun! Keep up the killer work! You should learn "the tempters push" off our last album curious volume! Now there's a ripper!
Minnesota Pete Campbell I know Steve and Al from from the Windsor area well. Used to listen to those The Mighty Nimbus records a ton back in the day. That shit rules. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Oh damn small world brother!!! Yea buddy super proud of that band! I've got a couple tricks up my sleeve for some new TMN stuff coming up! My brother Andy...drummer in TMN...have a new project called Buzzard that we released a record couple years back. Groovy shit too!
Saw them live in 2016, front row, so close to Victor Griffin... Still got the pick he gave me after the show, and they played this song and it was awesome. Thanks a lot for the memory and the lesson
Please do more pentagram lessons, their one of the band's I take a lot of inspiration from and I want to learn as much as I can from them! Also this was a great lesson!
Thanks for the lesson man pentagram was one of the bands that sent me down the early HEAVY music rabbit hole . Witchcraft lessons would be amazing too I read they were trying to cross roky Erickson and pentagram in the sound of witchcraft but yea man thanks
One of my favourite songs ever. Excellent lesson as always! I'd love to see some Victor Griffon era Pentagram, Petrified in particular. I just cannot get my head around his crazy tuning haha.
Nathan Merry thanks man! Victor’s crazy tuning from that era is Bb-Ab-Db-F#-Bb-Eb. The standard R5 chord shape will produce an octave which sounds very distinct and heavy, especially for the era when it was recorded.
@@Supernaut32 Sure thing. Just tune your guitar down to Eb standard (one half step) and then drop that 6th string to match the pitch of the 2nd string. It's awesome.
Does It Doom? please lettuce know if you decide to do it for your channel or patreon, i must have it, life will be sufficiently doomed... and i would definitely donate $for it!
Your vids are always so helpful and genuine, keep up the awesome work dude, I really mean it. Also any chances for some Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats lessons in the future?
FODIDO demais esse som! Fazia um tempo que não ouvia, obrigado por lembrar dessa obra prima de riffs. Valeu, de um nóia chapado doomzeiro do Brasil! Canal foda, mano! Estou sempre de olho!
Which album exactly? Relentless is partially in Eb standard and for some songs he takes the Eb on the 6th string and drops it to a Bb (same pitch as the 2nd string) so that the standard R5 chord shape produces an octave.
Checkout Bedemon if you havent already. It was a side project offshoot of Pentagram, recorded at the warehouse Pentagram practiced at in 1973. Pure Doom pioneering, right there. Child Of Darkness is just so killer.
I have an interesting suggestion. On the Bedemon Child Of Darkness album recorded in 1973 by a few members of Pentagram at the Pentagram practice warehouse, the songwriter/guitarist Randy Palmer (who wrote Star Lady on Last Daze Here), used an ElectroHarmonix solid-state amp called the Mike Matthews Freedom amp. It was a small, but very loud amp. The doom tone he got from it is ridiculous. I am dying to come across one that still functions. I've seen one on Reverb, but it doesnt have the appropriate power cord, and one is hard to find. I'd hate to buy it and not know what to do to find a way to power it. If you can get your hands on a Mike Matthews freedom amp and do some Bedemon demos like Child Of Darkness, Enslavers Of Humanity, Frozen Fear, ect, would be awesome. Most of those amps were battery powered.
I have been building and selling a clone of a no longer made pedal called the Pussy Melter by Steel Panther. It sounds so awesome. A friend of mine after some tweaking of the pedal can get some nice Pentagram and early 80's Punk Rock tones. It can doom also. But doom is more the individual than the pedal in my opinion.
Want to see more Pentagram here on the channel? Or perhaps even some Witchcraft? Let me know what song you'd like to see down in the comments. Thanks for watching!

Glad you enjoyed it! I always find the particular scales / intervals of riff construction to be interesting.
a pentagram song that has always eluded me to this day is Starlady, so many different crazy riffs in there
Great tune!
my favorite pentagram song ever. (the one in last daze here)
The solo on that song is ridiculous. So simple, but perfectly laid out.
That one (the at least the recording from from first daze here) is actually done in E Standard. When they re-recorded it for Show ‘Em How (2004) they used the whole albums respective tuning standard of D.

Can you play “Forever My Queen” by Pentagram?
Seems to be getting a lot of requests. Could give it a try.
Does It Doom? Another great song that while not the most doomy, is still awesome: 20 Buck Spin
Right on;)
Your Channel Rocks man!!!
I appreciate that! Thanks so much.
Any possibility of some cirith ungol lessons? Great channel glad I found it
No immediate plans but I’ve had a few requests.

HI! great lesson! The first Pentagram album what tuning is it?
Which album exactly? Relentless is partially in Eb standard and for some songs he takes the Eb on the 6th string and drops it to a Bb (same pitch as the 2nd string) so that the standard R5 chord shape produces an octave.
@@DoesItDoom : Thank you, yes I meant Relentless, I really like death row, all the sins, signs of the wolf , those are in Eb Standard.
Time Traveler I’m fairly certain All Your Sins has the 6th string dropped to a Bb. Thinking I might teach that one.
The post sabbath bands , " Doom" bands such as pentagram had so much originality ! That riff is stupid!
So good.

Hey! You should totally do something by Pagan Altar. There’s not a lot of stuff about them out there and the few material you’ll find kinda sucks...

Hey Steve! Any chance you could play that Yamaha sg-2000 on this channel? Would like to hear it doom!
Unfortunately the finish on it was really bad and I decided to take my option to return it. Killer guitar though. It dooms for sure.
Cool Jam ❗I find if I use 12 gauge 💥 strings the tension in D standard is about the same as 10s in E standard , which works good for speed picking 🎸
Nice 👍🏻
I can't comment on any request , the only doom I listen to is what I create from trying to transpose old Xasthur songs into my own 🤷
Good stuff Steve. Thanks Bro.

The Snake by Witchcraft! 🐍
Larry McDowell this would be one of my first choices. I’ve known it in full before so would be easy to put together.
