I'm in an odd position looking for a courier job on Long Island. It seems like most courier services in my area cover NYC and I have less-than-zero interest in driving into the 5 boroughs. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Also, the searches are swamped with Amazon, gig/app jobs, & CDL jobs. It makes for a slower search and a lot of instant 'No thanks' results. Probably gonna go with either US Pack or TForce to get experience and keep my eyes open.
Long Island is one of those places that you really have to niche down on the location if you're picky about what you want to do. I've done work for both of the companies you mentioned, with good experiences. Also, keep networking, talking to other couriers and finding out what's available. The best jobs are still found by word of mouth in my opinion.
@@CourierGirl Hey, thanks for the info on the companies! I'm probably not going to move on this until after the New Year, but I'm starting the search now to get a feel for how things are. I'm bummed by the number of Amazon postings, but hopeful that they are ramping up for Christmas already and will drop off after the holidays.
@@project1003 Why are you bummed about the number of Amazon postings? You may be able to do Amazon Flex and pick up routes as you want too. Also, you don't have to compete with Amazon. There is plenty of other work out there!
❤ thanks for sharing
