well, he lost 7 figures of money.. he publicly apologized.. he's been humiliated at a world level, for a man who seemed to value the respect of the Poker community greatly
did he F up ?? seems so..
hard to say if he simply let someone else "dupe" him, when he is a genuine mathematical genius.. i had huge admiration and respect for him, followed his career starting 2002.
but... not knowing the "numbers" of your business where bogus..
thats hard to swallow.. impossible ? no.. and no criminal charges were leveled at him, which i think is more telling.
i played a LOT on Full Tilt.. i mean a lot, and lost only a few dollars on black friday (not everyone was made whole, and it was truly chump change, so never sweated it )..
you either give people a second chance, or you dont.. not up to be to forgive him.
if i sat down at a table and he was there, i would shake his hand, and just move on.
are you going to hold a grudge for decades ?? most everyone, from what i just saw, got any money they had in Full Tilt back.. so the harm was.. not egregious by any length.
and given how much i loved online poker, maybe it was a good thing i cant play anymore.. lol..
      same for Chris Ferguson..
before all this, they were top poker pros in the world.
i think the poker game should welcome them back, and just play poker..
dont like the guy ? ok.. just keep it to yourself.. beat them at the table..
not beat them up on social media..

Lederer didn’t do enough to protect the money that’s clear. But I don’t think he deserves a lifetime ban. He’s been the face of this debacle for long enough. And virtually everyone eventually got their money back thanks to PokerStars. Time to let him come back and beat Negreanu on the felt where they can settle it in a steel cage match. 😂

I remember months before the Black Friday shutdown, a few of my withdrawals took longer than usual and I used the FTP points for redeeming a few items (baseball cap and a t-shirt.) Unfortunately this is a useless video. Why don't you start over and tell us in detail what the allegations were. Howard says he takes full responsibility, but he doesn't say for what. If he cheated, or knew about cheating going on, then there is no apology that can repair the damage. It should simply mean a lifetime ban from the game. Personally, I trust Daniel Negreanu's judgement. If he think's Lederer's apology is insincere, that's good enough for me.

Though she wasn't mentioned another player who vanished though I don't recall if she was from the Full Tilt camp or PokerStars is Jen Harmon. I hadn't seen her in years until she was in one of the WSOP tourneys featured in Daniel's TH-cam channel.Howard's style of play wasn't conducive to the High Stakes Poker or other shows that turned an 8-10 hr cash game with multiple buy backs sit n go into a couple 1/2 hour episodes.
He was a grinder that folded a ton of hands, who maximized profit and minimized losses in those hands played and wore people down until they made mistakes. Teaches the importance on bankroll management? How do you figure that?
Having your entire bankroll seized by the US govt. is not, and will not ever be a factor you should have to take into account when managing a bankroll, it's the absolute antitheses. If you can lose 100% of your roll without even playing a game, how can you manage that?

A Name isn't iconic. Only imagery is iconic - i.e., a person or thing whose Image is famous (the word Icon, in the original Greek, Means Image).
Iconic is now the most overused word on TH-cam, and no doubt the most MISused. Misusers seem to think "iconic" simply means "widely known," instantly recognizable," etc. (and lately, increasingly, that it is interchangeable with "famous").
Also, a person isn't "coined" something (e.g., a nickname). Coin means to invent, as in "coin a phrase." Lederer was be "dubbed," or "styled" The Professor.

IMHO, there are plenty LOL "pros" you are starting to see more of nowadays from the wild wild west of online poker back in the day, that _SHOULD NOT_ be anywhere near poker.
.. what happened to the wall of shame?
helmuth, ivey, dwan, seidel, ferguson, matusow, harman, gordan, lederer, and i dont even remember how many more who i have seen or heard talked about in these last however many years with the 2nd, convid induced, "boom" of "vlogs" and live streaming poker, who arguably need _NOT_ be seen or talked about yet are slithering around "the community" again.... 🤦‍♂

i wonder if i would have been the next lederer if i didnt lose over 100k in UltimateBet and years later over 40k from Lock when they vanished overnight.... that both came from $100 deposits (accounts were as low as $2 at one point)
Shelden Adelson is another one.... lobbied against online poker.... cuz he thought it would kill his B&M
I would always joke w/ the floors at Binions when i see $hamilton's picture.... oh, what's in those cabinets under there? are those backup russ hamilton photos to replace all the ones that get defaced? always hask them how many people spit on this.... and what would happen if i did... I feel lucky to never have deposited money into them and feel for those that did. Admittedly, I much prefer live cash games vs online anyway so likely another reason I never played online.
