Jason so called "relationship" with Elizabeth was all about Jake. Let's elaborate, in 2007, when Jason was in jail during the trial for Alcázar's murder he told Spinelli that once Jake was born he could not put Sam first and that she deserved to be with someone who would put her first. This happened after she broke up with him and after he knew what she did regarding Jake (07/18-19/07 Episodes). Which meant that in spite of what had transpired between them Jason was still in love with Sam but he felt so overwhelmed by the loved for his child that he needed to find a way to stay connected to Jake no matter what the cost. If we looked objectively at the way Jason was acting towards the business, with Sonny, Carly and everything else that mattered to him he was neglecting everything. Jason became a completely different person. Jason was demonstrating lack of discipline and focused towards everything that had always been important to him in his life. The only thing he was focusing on was Jake which caused his infatuation with Elizabeth (PLEASE SEE BELOW: DEFINITION OF INFATUATION). We identified Jason's feelings for Elizabeth as an infatuation were based on his overwhelming love for his son and his desperate need to be a father to Jake. Let's remember that quite often infatuations take a life of their own and the people involved in those types of relationships get stuck on stupid. They forget the essence of who they by constantly compromising themselves just to seek temporary satisfaction. Until something terrible happens that snaps them back to reality. Also, when Jason confronted Sam because she told Carly the truth about Jake's paternity and she responded by calling him on his choice to be with Elizabeth he was left speechless because Sam told him that Elizabeth didn't understand him, that she would never stand by him and that she would never support him for the man that he is (01/11/08). Jason knew Sam was right when she told him that his son was going to pay the consequences of said choice. Later on, we found out that Sam was right. Jason fell asleep at the wheel and his actions had devastating consequences. Let's see: 1. TMK grabbed Sam. Elizabeth was in the wrong place at the wrong time. 2.Jason hurt his hands 3. Jason didn't tell Carly that Michael was playing around with guns. 4.. Michael shot Kate by accident and then Michael ran away because he was afraid of Sonny's reaction. 5. Carly went after Michael and lost her baby. 6. Sonny started to spiral out of control 7.Michael got shot. 8. Jason takes over the business in exchange Sonny signed over his parental rights to Carly 9. The Russian Syndicate moved to Town 10. A counterfeit drug ring got established and Jerry was part of it. Sam was undercover and Jason didn't know about it. 11. Kate got shot, again 12.Sonny joined the Zacchara Organization. He married Claudia Zacchara. 13. Russian Mob War got started 14. Sam, Elizabeth and the kids were attacked by the Russians 15. Jake was kidnapped by the Russians. Sam saved Jake. All the aforementioned happened on Jason's watch. He used to be more diligent, more effective and more efficient. Sonny and Carly asked him a couple of times what was going on and he said nothing. He kept on lying and living on his web of lies while compromising himself over and over just to fulfill his infatuation with Elizabeth by sneaking around with her without thinking that he was putting a lot of people that counted on him in jeopardy. In the meantime, his commitments and responsibilities were put aside and forgotten. That is exactly what happened to Jason the entire time he was with Elizabeth. For instance, as previously indicated, Sam was proven right because Jake did suffer the consequences of Jason's lost of focus and perspective. He was kidnapped by the Russians and almost blown into a million pieces by his own father. To think that everything could have been avoided if Jason would have stopped compromising himself and would have remained true to who he was. Furthermore, we truly believe that it is anything but love when the person you are with turned you into the worse version of yourself. And that is exactly what happened to Jason when he attempted to have a so called "relationship" with Elizabeth. He forgot who he was and all about his commitments and responsibilities. While Jason was with Elizabeth everything was about lies, deception, cover ups, a secret affair, a hide out, compromised values, compromised integrity and total lost of his moral compass. There was no honesty, acceptance, support, or understanding between them. So, we asked how could that so called "relationship" have work? How could whatever they had between them be confused with love? We don't have the answers to those questions and usually the people involved in those types of situations don't either. The only thing that we know for sure is that reality hit everyone very hard in the face and it was not pretty. We do believe that both Jason and Elizabeth were snapped pretty hard back into reality. Now, they could go back to be who they really are and stop trying to be what their not. But most importantly, they can stop living in the web of lies they conjured. That is the only way they both finally can go back to be true to themselves so they could give the best of themselves to the people they truly love. Yanira Martinez Omg you went right to the point that was beautifully said. Liz push Jason to walk away from Jake but kept on dangling him in Jason’s face. Not to mention she loved throwing the fact that she gave Jason a son & Sam couldn’t have children in her face. I wasn’t mad 😡 that Sam told Carly because if Carly knew early on she would have got Jason to fight for his son. That’s also why Jason didn’t tell Carly because with her pushing he couldn’t keep his promise to Liz. In the end Carly would have made him claim Jake because Carly always knew Jason is a good father. Michael was more safe with Jason for the first 2 years of his life. And at that time Jason was the boss and Sonny was licking his wounds over Brenda. I’m not a big fans of Liz but I know she’s at her best when she’s not trying to get with Jason.

Oh noooo. Why? The Jason and Elizabeth storyline was incredible. It set in motion the character growth of not only Jason and Elizabeth, but also Maxie,Spinelli, and Sam. We were able to see Alexis and Sam's relationship shift too

I hated the Liz and Jason storyline during 2007 and 2008. I never watched GH during this time. I hated what they did to Sam.
