    incorrect advice on the tokens. ALL monarch shocks use rubber bands/rings that are installed in the outer air sleeve. the newer deluxe shocks use plastic tokens that are indeed located on the main inner shaft. PLEASE do not install the deluxe tokens on a monarch as per the instructions on this video, you WILL destroy the shock.

    Hi traildad this video gave me the knowledge and confidence to tackle my shock when it got stuck all the way in after it exploded in my face (which I knew it would) I changed all the seals and lubricant and it's working perfectly now thanks for saving me like 250$$$👍

    Such a good video and very well done. I might have missed it, but I think you want to let all the air out of the shock before service. Probably pretty obvious, but worth a mention. I just bought a used Monarch and plan to use this video to do my service.
    Again, great job on this video.

    How do you change that little o ring on the damper piston? Does it just unbolt? No one changes it but I assume it's just to keep the tokens up...

    Why did you remove the shock bushings?

    • @manitou89
      @manitou89 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The bushing are made of soft metal. If you put them into a vice and apply torque, they will deform.

    Hi, I'm having some trouble with my Rochshox Monarch R it doesn't stay up, it stays in between the number 10/20 also the air after 2/3 pumps wen i check it is back in the lower side of the green mark on the shock pump it seems to be adjusting to a different pressure lower pressure like, wen i seat on the bike the monarch goes all the way down like staying like 20/40mm from the end were the attaching bolt is?

    • @Eridebrodad
      @Eridebrodad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      seems like your shock cant hold any air? try to check the seals and o-rings. also make sure you don't remove the air from the damper side (300 psi)

    Привет , я бы был безумно вам благодарен , если подскажите , у меня Rock shox RL (Debon air) , первая проблема была - пропажа блокировки , отскок работал , далее ездил зимой и у меня резко на какой то яме уменьшился ход в 2 раза , спускаю воздух ещё меньше ход становится , такого по идее быть не должно , в чем может быть проблема ? На днях хочу разобрать , это проблема в бачке демпфера или же нет? Может знаете в чем может быть проблема . До этого амортизаторы не разбирал , поэтому не понимаю в их конструкции

    If only anyone could tell us the real dimensions of those two x-rings and thre (one pair and one alone) o-rings from 00.4315.032.390 !!! ((
    Yup, I measured it by myself but it's not ideal, what I installed is - x-ring 28.17x3.53, x-ring 31.34x3.53, o-rings (2 pcs) 41.2x1.80, outter o-ring I didn't swap. But there's a chance that those dimensions are not exactly as from service kit..

      hmm, yeah I've seen some with bands. But on my actual shock, they use tokens, even from the SRAM manual. Maybe the newer version of this shock uses bands? This shock is the 2016 version i think

      That just means your kitchen is your shop and your dining room table is your work bench and should have a bench vice bolted to it... then you can use it to hold up a dessert plate when it's not doing dirty work
