Hi Brad and Lex. I'm a 57yo white dude who originally found you reacting to some Tool music. I really enjoyed how both of you analyzed the instruments, vocals and lyrics. I was impressed with your natural insights and willingness to be open to many subjects. Then I watched some of your content that didn't involve music and still found you interesting and entertaining, so decided to subscribe. Please keep it going and look forward to more of your content.

Claiming to NOT BE ESTABLISHMENT. YET THEY ARE BILLIONAIRES AND ALL PART OF THE ELITE CLUB OF NEW AND OLD MONEY. Were part of another Political Party also for years now demonizing anyone who still is.
Add the Religious component that God might choose a candidate that can DUPE MANY and not realize their Bible Prophecy teaches to beware that leaders will arise claiming they are as Lambs and Righteous promoting all that is good.... yet their SINS are Great that gets overlooked and ANY BLEMISH AND BREAKING LAWS THEY GET LUV AND CONSPIRACY IS GOV and a OPPOSING SIDE AND GLOBAL ELITE ARE AGAINST THEM as if new. Yet their life showed LOVE OF MONEY, GAMBLING, INFIDELITY many times SUEING to NOT PAY BACK LOANS, BANKRUPTCIES. BACK-STABBING BUSINESS PRACTICES OTHERS TO WIN, yet claim GOT ALL RIGHT and MAKES NO MISTAKES. EVEN LIES ABOUT HIS WEIGHT and MANY BELIEVE IT.... Like the Story... Biblical. of the KING REALLY IN THE END HAD NO CLOTHES ON.... yet others told him he still did because he was KING and RIGHT and it was THEM WHO FOLLOWED A LIE.
Hollywood was always labeled yet here we are generations later. Communist label to them and a political Party as if it is the McCarthyism paranoia era of the 1950s. He FELL FAST after doing all his damage then. Only to lead us to the Vietnam Era, Kennedy's assassination then MLK and Bobby Kennedy. All with their own Conspiracy's. Yet here we are GENERATIONS LATER STILL.
Fears of Nuclear War was at hand generations ago YET HERE WE ARE. Now WW3 belief at hand A NEW CIVIL WAR OF SORTS...at hand. IDOLIZING A LEADER THAT WILL BE AS A DICTATOR to wave a magic wand to fix it all. Maybe in a couple generations it will again have them say.... AND HERE WE STILL ARE?

Part of being human is relying on narratives to make sense of the world. Those narratives can be factual or mythical. In a culture, most members share a similar set of narratives. Different cultures have different stories that shape what their members commonly think. Within a culture there's still lots of variation and many individuals are drawn to contrarian narratives. The cults & conspiracies gain traction from that crowd. Within those contrarian narratives individuals can find a community to belong. That deep need for belonging & community is another trait of being human. However when our communities are too big we feel insignificant. To avoid being just a small insignificant cog in a huge machine many seek out other communities that make them feel special. Religions do that, so do cults, political movements, and joining other followers of a particular conspiracy. Believing their narratives can satisfy that need to make sense of the world. It saves us from questioning by providing us all the "answers". In what I'm saying, the flat earth folks, the religious zealots, conspiracy theorists, and followers of dogmatic political movements all are finding something otherwise missing from their lives. They're finding something that makes them feel special.

Best advice is to look at both sides of any theory or argument and figure out which one makes more sense. I think what happens too often is people don’t question things enough. Question even those you support. Make intelligent decisions based on as much info as possible, on important topics. Unfortunately there are people all over who benefit from misinformation. You have to really pay attention. It’s not easy. We all get fooled at times

  • @ravenward626
    @ravenward626 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

Wow, you folks are hitting all kinds of good points.
I have two points to add in case anyone reads comments.
The first has to do with flat earthers, the second to do with ancient Greece. The first to show a way the flat earth conspiracy was perpetuated, and the second shows a link to the past to show that we are dealing with a very old problem.
When I was in high school I had a physics teacher who was a flat earther. He told me that he didn't actually believe it was flat, but he belong to a club who practiced rhetoric and one of their challenges was to convince someone of something that is clearly false. The falsehood he practiced with was to convince people that the world is flat.
Back in ancient Greece we had a form of early direct democracy, convincing people to do stuff became very important to getting things done. Being able to manipulate/influence people with oration became a valuable skill. The folks who went around teaching people who to do this were frequently called "sophists" folks who are less interest in discovering truth as much as encouraging people to act, sometimes against their own interests. The politically partisan commentators these days are essentially modern sophists profiting from pushing specific views.

Right. The NSA spying on the public, now we know, cudos to one imprisoned Edward Snowden.
The Wuhan Lab Leak theory seems more true now than false.
Epstein's island, which Alex Jones talked about years ago.
The MK Ultra program, the he CIA was testing LSD and other hallucinogenic drugs on Americans. They started by using volunteers, but the program heads started dosing people without their knowledge. It left many victims permanently mentally disabled.
John Lennon being under FBI surveillance for his influence and anti-war messaging.
Cigarette companies burying information that cigarettes are unhealthy.
The Gulf of Tonkin incident on August 2, 1964, which was faked to provoke American support for the Vietnam War.
Bohemian Grove, a gathering of influential and rich figures, doing whatever they're doing. It exists though.
Also the Word Economic Forum basically tells everyone to their face their ambitions to create a new form of government with digital currency, 20-minute cities etc.
      The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment.

People tend to make up conspiracy theories because they can't grasp that horrible things just occur without some deeper reason.People who are scared of the randomness of life tend to make up reasons that their mind can comprehend. Also a lot are people who are paranoid of the higher ups believing they are controlling your lives.

    • @jessecortez9449
      @jessecortez9449 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Conversely, people tend to ignore/disregard conspiracy theories because they can't grasp that horrible things happen with intention. Example; Jimmy Savile in England sexually abused children for decades. He abused mentally handicapped children, physically disabled children in hospital that he would visit as charity events, he had access to the morgue to have sex with recently deceased, he had a private apartment on hospital grounds to help facilitate his activities. A few victims spoke out but they got ignored because Savile was a "national treasure" since he was beloved tv performer and he had direct connections to the royal family being the marriage counselor for Prince Charles and Princess Diana (Diana also eluded to his predatory nature but was ignored). Most of this didn't make mass public awareness until just after his death so he escaped consequences.
People who are scared of the calculated nature of evil tend to make up reasons to turn a willful blind eye.
Higher ups wouldn't be higher ups if they weren't controlling things. One cam hope they are doing so for their benefit but once someone gets high enough the individual they claim to serve becomes an abstraction that dehumanizes the individual.

Be a thinker, not a follower. Many conspiracy theories are true and many are not. Think about human nature and what is most likely but you also have to remember how evil and vile some people can be. Nice to hear you all talking about ideas that came from within. Found it very interesting, even if answers aren't easy to come by. A new dimension to see of you two.
I think for me, feeling like something is "real" or not comes down to whether truth makes more rational sense than the conspiracy. You don't know it's real, but equally, you don't know it's not. So then, does it make sense that, say, thousands of strangers have somehow collaborated on an elaborate, sometimes multi-generational fib and everyone's managed to keep the secret? That's where conspiracy theories usually break down for me. The existence of a "they" is pretty hard to fathom, once you start analysing many stories.
Also, there's the story of the three blind men and the elephant. Each reaches out and finds a different (family friendly) part of the elephant. The trunk, a leg, the tail. Their descriptions are completely different even though they're are describing the same animal. I reckon there's a good chance religion is like that. For all practical purposes the earth is flat. Whether people believe it’s actually round or flat doesn’t really matter. It’s interesting how hard they push the spherical world.

The problem today is what we as individuals believe.
When you don't agree with me, that used to be okay.
Now people are hung up with forcing or ridiculing each other because you don't believe what someone wants you to.
    Families and friends are disrupted.
The Civil War is an example and we see where that went.
    Forced beliefs.

If you're truly grounded, you will believe some things that others call conspiracy (because they lack critical thinking skills). Sadly, the longer you live, the more you know, the lonelier you become.

@Brad & Lex Since you started with Flat Earth, here is a great argument to dispute it. ALL triangles internal angles add up to 180°. Imagine a huge triangle from the North Pole to New York City to a point 1,000 miles due west and then back up to the North Pole. The angles in this triangle will add up to way more than 180° because of the convex curvature. Any mathematician knows this for a sphere shaped object. Now, think about it this way; when you come down from the North Pole to New York and turn west, it will seem like you are turning 90°. At the point 1,000 miles west, it will seem like you are turning 90° when you head back toward the North Pole. You would think that this triangle's internal angles added up to way more than 180° and it's because of the curvature. It only adds up to 180° in two dimensions which is what a flat surface would be. Have fun with that.

When I started getting on the Internet twenty-five years ago, I was optimistic that everyone was going to become better educated. Boy, was I wrong! If it goes against science, math, and common sense, one should dismiss it as bunk.
The only reason why religion still exists is because people are afraid of dying. All of this is just a distraction from the inevitable demise of all of us.

If a man is to fail, the failure should be his own, not forced upon him by those appointed authority over him, as this breeds feelings of discontent, resentment, and rebellion, making him ungovernable, and justifiably so...
