- "Kenobi: Trials Of The Master" is a feature-length fan retelling of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. It uses the footage from the Series with other films in the franchise, and utilizes VFX, editing and new footage to create a completely new take on the story. It is intended to entertain and inspire the fan base, as well as to educate the upcoming artists on the possibilities of modern filmmaking.
This is not intended to interfere, or belittle, or replace the original series in any way. That's not even possible, and that was never my intention. And if it was even possible, I would never want it. This is my personal take on the story, and my ultimate love letter to the Star Wars universe.
This whole educational project wouldn't be possible without the artists and the entire creative team that made the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, so go and watch it on Disney+.

The shot of Obi opening the chest out in the desert & there is ONLY one saber inside, Anakin's, is a VERY powerful & significant change! Because it can only mean one thing. That Obi never put his own saber in the chest as well. That he ALWAYS keeps it on him, or at least far more nearby then dug down into a bloody sand dune far out of reach. Seeing just Anakin's saber in the chest means that Obi never disarmed himself, never gave up, never abandoned the plan that he & Yoda made together & therefor never betrayed Yoda as he obviously has in the real show. A VERY powerful & significant change indeed! And it gives me so much hope when just a trailer can show proof of such vital improvements.
I like that you can see qui gon’s green lightsaber crystal in the chest too, nice detail
In my head canon that green crystal was found in Obi Wan's hut by Luke Skywalker.

Yes that is a good point and fixes everything that was wrong with the first couple of Kenobi episodes. His attitude and the past. He might be scared and cautious, but he would never have given up to that degree. Its like what they did to Luke in Last Jedi. The trouble with Disney Star Wars is that none of the new films have been a success.
So they are stuck trying to slot things into the past as that is what worked. Rogue One, The Bad Batch, Kenobi and so on. Fett and Mando are so close to the original Trilogy era as well, in order to play off that.
Disney have no clue what they are doing with Star Wars. None. And it wont improve. Whatever new films are announced over the next few months, it will be more of the same Sequel style rubbish, and that is if any of them get to screen at all, after KK has messed up, argued with directors, screwed up behind the scenes with scripts and all that bad work she does. At this point she should just put out a 2 hour film with nothing but her and other female characters ranting about how much they hate men, and how much better they are than George Lucas and Spielberg. Its all in their heads and it shows on screen in everything they are behind making. Its pretty sad really.

The complete scenery change for the final fight between vader and kenobi looks so beautiful and creative. The colors are so vibrant, captivating and calm that feels like the complete opposite, yet really familiar with the Mustafar scenery. Fantastic job!
Man this has covered every issue fans were concerned about, the change of landscape when obi and Vader have their final fight is incredible compared to the original.. and that flash of vader to anakin works so well and feels appropriate not forced. So hyped!
the biggest issue people had was the plot and character development these edits do look cool but there is only so much that can be done here.... some nicer visuals wont change how bad the show was sadly
@@CelticX7 People's biggest issue was much of the plot revolving around Reva. As the start of this vid says, it's an edit to make it a film, rather than a TV show, so the run time would be significantly lower (so we can assume much of Reva's parts will be edited out). Most folks didn't have a huge issue with Obi Wan and Anakin.
@@CelticX7 for sure I imply this fixes everything but I don't mean that. Should have said this seems to cover a lot of concerns fans complained about.
I didn't find the show bad and i think with some editing and scenes cut out it could be alright..
The show did feel like a story that didn't need to be told imo but I still enjoyed a lot of it.

Though again, Solo bombing is why Disney reworked it into a show in the first place. But nonetheless, it being reworked into movie format will do much more justice to Obi Wan's story then whoever messed the show up to begin with.

I've loved Star Wars so much since I was a child, and there was so much sadness about what Disney has done to it. This truly is a New Hope!
This edit is wizard! Really love the accuracy of Fortress Inquisitorius and Nur to Jedi: Fallen Order and that it is a moon of Mustafar. The Grand Inquisitor and Fifth Brother are top notch, as well as the final duel on 'Blustafar'. This is what the show should've looked like.
I also can't forget to mention that the flash of Vader to Anakin was phenomenal.
This has me more hyped than anything star wars I've seen since 2015

Honestly, I'm so excited. The Kenobi series was such a let down for me but it's something I feel is really important for storytelling. We need more people like you. We need to reclaim the Star Wars universe, and this is a huge step for it. They should start hiring fans, because clearly we're better at knowing what Star Wars is than they are, just look at this!
That’s Disney for you. They have some great ideas in concept but in execution, it just falls flat or just straight up sucks
@@docplays6508 So far, SOME of The Mandalorian has been good, The Clone Wars was amazing, and The Batch Batch is fantastic. Who's in charge of those? Actual fans of Star Wars. People who love the universe, and aren't just in it for the money.

That’s what drives me up a wall. What happens when you pursue something just for the money and not for the passion, is we get the Obi-Wan Kenobi show. I rewatched it recently and was re-disappointed. I truly can’t believe how little it moved me.
Everything in this edit looked better, and it even introduced narrative points that indicated a better plot. I’m angrier at Disney than I am excited about this fanedit, but obviously this edit is amazing.

This trailer music is so good. I remember getting excited for Force Awakens when they used it. Then Clone Wars S7 was even better. And now this, words can’t even describe how excited I am
There's so many times I've seen a fan creation on the internet, and people rave in the comments how "this looks so much better than the official!" Yet, it's almost never really true. No matter how amazing it is, it's still cheap and amateur compared to the original, full budget production.
This project is an exception. It is a genuine improvement in so many aspects. So unbelievably impressive.
that final line "you already know the outcome, don't you?" with yoda's face is $$$$, something about it just makes the perfect star wars-y hook

What ties this together for me is that you still have respect for the original series. It wasn't flawless, but it did a great job of telling the story of Obi-wan and Vader post Revenge of the Sith in my opinion. This feels like a tighter version that I am exceptionally hyped for, so can't wait to see when it hits. Good luck dude, the force is already strong in you.

Exactly. There’s a lot of criticism of the show but I got soo much out of it. I’d like other people to experience it like me, and this edit could help!
I was extremely disappointed by the show, but I'm excited for this version. I'm willing to give Reva a second chance in the hands of a competent writer. Pixel has already earned my respect with the Grand Inquisitor, not only nailing his appearance, but bringing in the original voice actor to make him sound more like his Rebels appearance
@@SuperGoose42 yes, the same. BTW one of the main Reva problems was that authors didn't manage to make her looking like an inquisitor. She was too usual and visually didn't fit into organization. After this trailer and transformation of grand inquisitor I believe it will be fixed as well, because it was such a shame that smth that could be quite easily done by costumers and makeup artists with big influence for immercity wasn't done. But, considering how lazy authors were in case with grand inquisitor we cannot be surprised that they were even lazier with someone completely new. Not to mention how lazy they were with scenario relaying on tons of fan-service packet in every episode. But now I'm curios if author of this trailer can really fix this show. I hope so.
It's delicate you can imagine. If he leans too hard into some creative decision, it could sour diehard fans. Presumably, he will receive more grace and forgiveness, being a small-scale operation instead of DISNEY. But anyway, it's not hard to see where it could fall off the rails if he isn't extremely careful.
Not that I think Star Wars fans are constantly looking for things to hate in Disney Star Wars, but I do think the stardards are high.
Beautiful! I hope that there are some contacts at Disney that consider releasing this officially. Star Wars being edited and re-released is kind of an old tradition since the beginning of the franchise.
