I agree that this was out of line, not because I am particularly invested in what who defines as cheating but it's important that you and your partner are one the same page about it. Both parties need to set boundries and define what they feel comfortable with, and if someone breaks said boundries that is cheating. The guy had every reason to be hurt.

People really need to have a discussion about kids BEFORE entering a relationship. If one person wants kid, and another doesn't, it won't work. Same goes for if both want kids but have different means of wanting them (biological vs adoption vs surrogate mother).
Just because you may say you don’t want kids right now, does it mean they possibly won’t change their mind. It really isn’t that deep, and most people don’t go into a relationship, trying to settle down so quickly.

Can we talk more on the validity of what Vitsavia's saying they almost broke up if he refused to go to therapy and get his shit together. This is soooo valid on so many levels because yes as humans we do not control over how traumas occurs but it is very necessary and our job to heal the wounds by seeking help with a profession. And Not by depending on your partner to deal your current behaviours or mental health all the time. It is facts that hurt people HURT PEOPLE so badly. So please if you really really value your relationship and the love you have for your partner, get therapy. This is because the possibility of getting therapy and it actually working is way a higher chance than if your partner will forever put up with your problems. They wont because gets very exhausting and will affect them too really fast. And eventually they will get impatient and leave

I had to have a hysterectomy at 25, so the kids one is something I told my current bf immediately. Luckily, he's the only person I've dated since my hysterectomy so I didn't have to have that conversation a ton, were going on 7 years together

It can’t be cheating” which to some people it’s not but to others it is. As I of right now the people in his environment see him as a cute baby/toddler. Eventually it’s going to change and some people will view him as dangerous JUST because of his skin color. On the "kissing is cheating" issue: Some people are veeeeery comfortable with getting intimate with others without plans on going any further or it turning really sexual. Just doing what feels good. Still, boundaries need to be discussed, I also wouldn't be cool with that but wish I could be. Even if there is no plan to pursue further, I just don't want to share intimacy with third parties in a relationship.

Here on Cut we had a lot of open relationships, Friends with benefits etc. some more, some less comfortable or complicated. Everybody has different needs and wants. Some people get murderous thoughts from seeing their partner having a nice conversation or hugging someone. Some people are fine with their partner getting something they don't want or can't provide from somewhere else so they can have an honest and working relationship.
The most important thing is being truthful (even if it hurts) and communicating, then you can either make it work or realize you can't.

Yea, usually the people I’ve seen that have been out of the honeymoon so quickly just shows their compatibility/chemistry is not up to par. There is an actual scientific component to the honeymoon phase in that it typically occurs in the first 6-8mo of healthy standing relationships (based on stats). So if they already ‘out’ of the honeymoon phase so quickly, they likely were never in it to begin with. If you already are having fights, bickering, nit picking and you’re not together for 6mo, that’s a red flag🚩

This just shows you that you need a connection and compatibility. You can really like spending time with someone but if your core values are different (ie, marriage, kids, religion, etc.) it won't work out. Love isn't always enough.

I also think there isn't "the one" , you want to live forever with, maybe for some people but for me love is something that changes and cannot be forever... I don't think I personally would consider a person "the one" and I like it that way (like not only having one partner in my live) but I can totally understand if people belive in "the one" and never leave that person
So I don't believe in "finding the one" either. I don't think that there is one magical person out there with whom everything will be just easy. It's way to simplistic(is that how you spell it?) for modern day life. You grow and evolve so much as a person and the world is so fast.
But I do belive that you can become "the one" for one another but it takes time and energy and I feel lik a lot of people don't want to invest in relationships anymore and then wonder why they're still single. I've been in a relationship for nearly 5 years now at just 21 and it's a lot of work. We have so much going, life is so crazy, we had some major life steps happening in our life at an early age and early steps of a relationship that a lot of people go through in their 40s or 50s.
And reality is, at some point you're not an individual anymore - you're a partner.
I know that there's people that are strong individuals even in a relationship but honestly it's not what I want personally - and you know what - both is okay.
Wanting to get married, not wanting to get married,
Wanting kids, not wanting kids
Becoming one in a basket, staying two in a basket,
Like it's all okay IF both people are happy with it.
It's also okay to change your opinion.
But you have to talk about it, all of it.
Personally if I were to become single, kids would be one of my first questions if I'd consider going in a relationship with someone but that's me.
If something like that is not that important to you, also fine, you don't have to talk about it.
But honestly the episode where they were doing truth or drink with engaged couples was shocking to me. There were couples that never talked about kids, moving, money, etc. and personally I don't get that because marriage to me is very serious but if it's not to you it is also FINE.
Like everybody is literally allowed to do whatever they want to unless they don't hurt themselves or others.

When I was younger, a mix of trauma and the consequential mental health issues, plus culture pushing 'the one' idealistic relationship had me thinking that there WAS supposed to be someone with whom everything is easy. And it's not! I'm so thankful and happy to have my partner in my life because yeah we've changed since being with one another, but we've changed together and we have room in our relationship to continue growing and that's what's nice being together. He's definitely my number 1 lol

You put ‘becoming the one’ so beautifully and I agree with you 100%. My boyfriend and I kind of had a rough start because we expected each other to magically know what we wanted and struggles to adjust our habits to match with someone elses. I guess you could say we were stuck in out ways. Effective communication takes a lot of effort and vulnerability, but it is worth it and brings us closer every time. He def feels like ‘the one’ now :)
I’ve never thought there was “the one” person out there, but finding a really good match is like 1 chance per thousands of people, so when it’s mutual, it’s not that easy to replace
